Cracking game today one of the best in a while, loved how we managed to turn it around from 3-0 down. One of these days I'll play without a hangover.

We need 11 captains out there, the armband really doesn't mean much imo.

I've never seen him have a good game. Looked okish against Totton, maybe that's his level... No way near as good a prospect as James, Lallana, Mills, Gobern etc.

Got plus 2 maybe 3.

Arizona you're being very harsh on some of our squad players there. Brining in 12 players would just harm the development of a lot of our young players, unless we ship a few out and replace them we really don't need to sign that many players. GK: Davis, Bart and Poke. Sell or loan Forecast RB: Murty and James LB: Mills and Reeves - bit of a risk not having an experienced LB and might be asking a lot of Reeves if Mills get injured, might be an idea to get a LB in on loan so Mills can move up to left wing. CB: Perry, Thomas, Lancashire + 1. Really need to sign a top quality CB. DMC: Gillett, Schneiderlin, James and Wotton AMC: Lallana, Gobern +1. Get an experienced attacking creative midfielder. LM: Holmes, Gobern +1. Would probably shift Holmes on if possible, need a new left winger wether he stays or leaves. RM: Thomson, McLaggon +1. Need an experienced right winger, McLaggon looks like a prospect but i'm not sure Thomson is up to it. SC: Rasiak and Paterson +2 need two strikers, If Saga and John stay then well we don't need those either. I can't see those two staying though. So basically we need a CB, LM, RM, AMC, two strikers and maybe a LB on loan.

If we can get in 4-5 players to replace Skacel, Surman, McGoldrick, Stern (if he leaves) and Size then we will definatly have a strong squad. Hopefully we will sign quality to replace those 5 and not go go down the same route as last season and sign 15 mediocre players and hope for the best.

I was told we would have to pay Exeter some token amount after he played his first senior game for us and Lowe wouldn't allow it so he just rotted in the reserves and left at the end of his contract.

I've been to all four and I pretty much agree. I don't really think it means much at the moment though, it's the next four that are important, hopefully we will have a manager in place for at least 2 out of 3. Basically we seem quite solid at the back, funny five minutes against Totton and Bournemouth aside but have no creativity or shape going forward, hopefully it should come before Millwall.

Don't really see the need for a left back with Mills and Reeves on our books. Mills is ready for league one now and Reeves looks very promising from the four pre season games. Signing a new LB would just harm their development. Agree about a CB and RM, we really need a left winger though. There is no way Holmes can be relied upon.

If we're going with just players who have featured in the friendlies and only taking those into account and not previous season form etc then... Davis Murty Perry Thomas Mills Thomson Gillett James Gobern Paterson Rasiak Pretty much picks itself imo, if Thomson is still injured then push james to the right and play Wotton. We really need two new wingers asap before the Millwall game, the only time we've had any width so far in pre season was when Gobern played left wing in the first half again Totton.

That's horrible.

He went through a purple patch it happens in football. As a side we where playing very well and as a striker he had a lot of chances made for him, scoring a goal a game during such a period is a decent return but hardly amazing. You can keep clinging onto him being a quality player if you like, he's been **** for us ever since that play off season. I'd love to see his goals per minute ratio since then, must be embarassing.

I don't think the position swapping would really work, quite a lot of the time I like to just sit back and defend. Don't think we really need to change much to keep it enjoyable, we should have moved a player across last Sunday though, once Ben got injured it was all one way traffic and as people got bored it got worse.

After he refused to play against Forest we shouldn't even let him train with the first team. He wasn't even very good when he wanted to be here so he's only going to be worse now.

I forgot about Gobern, i'd probably have him as our first choice left winger, he's certainly grown over the summer and seems to have found a yard of pace, might be better off in the centre where we lack a bit of height. McLaggon is promising, how long untill he's back from injury?

Not convinced Schneiderlin is ready to play everyweek in League one and I seriously don't think we should be playing a 5 man midfield again, will just be far too negative at home. Would be ideal to bring on Lallana for a striker to see out a tight game but starting that way would be a step backwards. Davis Murty Thomas Perry Mills Lallana / James - Depending on opposition Gillett James / Wotton / Schneiderlin - Depending on opposition New fast left winger - with Lallana or James on the right we need a pacey outlet on the left whos going to stay wide. Holmes would probably do ok there but can't be relied on at all. Paterson Rasiak I'd much rather play a 4-4-2 like that than 4-5-1 again, we simply don't have the players to suit a 4-5-1 imo, not enough goals from midfield, no real wingers and Rasiak isn't very good on his own up front.

There are about eight players that need replacing before Gillett.

Has there been anymore news on Stern John? Much rather have him than Rasiak. Not so sure about Euell, don't really know where he'd fit in if we had John, Rasiak, Paterson here.

a) New Manager? Strachan b) His assistant? Lennon c) Five realistic players? Murty, Lambert, Shelvey (maybe slightly unrealistic), Size and Juan Pablo Angel d) A job for MLT? Nothing, he's quite happy on Sky and I don't think we need another opinion on the boardroom. Southampton legend on the pitch and it should stay that way. e) One ground improvement? Open the corners. f) One catering improvement? Reopen the bottle bars in the Northam. g) New half time entertainment? Nothing, ever. Half time entertainment is ****. h) Picture in the boardroom?

The police film at every game and we hardly get beer served at any games anymore. It's not a new thing, annoying but certainly got used to it after last season.
