And why would that be then? Would like to see us play with wingers and Thomson clearly isn't up to it and Holmes and Mills aren't fit. That basically leaves us with Gobern and White. Only real change would be Millis in for Lallana which could work but i'd rather we stick to our own, from the three games i've seen Mellis play he only really offers pace. Playing 4-4-2 against a side two leagues above us would be suicide.

I'd go for a fiver, will be interesting to see how many we take away in the first couple of rounds.

tbf they're a very good side this season, could well be this seasons Fulham.

Sunderland are a lot better than Birmingham.

We need width and pace. We won't get the best out of Schneiderlin, Lambert or the two full backs untill we're playing with proper wide players. We're so one dimensional at the moment, it's basically the same ****e as last season. If we're not going to bring in any proper wide players we should start playing a diamond in midfield because the way we're playing at the moment isn't working at all. Lallana should be on the bench and playing for the reserves, certainly shouldn't be a first choice like he is at the minute. Promising young players qualify, hence people like Denilson, Lucas, Rafael etc all playing in the prem without being anywhere near the required games.

Same with Craine, those two where really badly managed by the club by various different people.

Unbalances the team if he plays right wing, isn't strong enough to play central midfield and isn't good enough to play him in the hole and build the team around him. Stick him in the reserves until Christmas and try and drill some positional sense into him.

Agreed, the only defender we have who's comfortble on the ball is Harding, we could really do with someone like Size or Cork in defence who can bring the ball out and make a decent pass. Wotton was very wastefull and even Schneiderlin doesn't really keep things ticking over very well, I think he'd be better alongside a midfielder he can trust. Some pace out wide, even if it's just one flank would make us such a better side. Schneiderlin would have an out ball and we'd actually have an attacking outlet. We have to start at least one hopefully two of Thomson, Mills, Gobern and Holmes in the next game. If we go with Paterson, James or Lallana outwide i'll probably just go home when Brentford get there first.

That's a bit harsh on Paterson and James both forced to play out of position and both still young. Agreed on Wotton and Lancashire, don't think either will ever be good enough.

I hope you're right but it just looked like AP didn't have any idea yesterday, I was dissapointed with the way he set the side up and the lack of changes. I have been impressed with his signings Harding, Lambert, Millis and Murty all look class but i'm not convinced we're going to sign many more players before September, if we don't get any wingers in then staying up will be a struggle.

Shocking performance, playing 4-5-1 with no width at all is just ridiculous. Wotton offers nothing one of the worst signings we've ever made, Gillett must be sleeping with pardews missus because he's a much better player than Wotton. Thomas and Lancashire where both gash as well and need replacing asap Size would be a good start, someone at the back who's composed on the ball is something we seriously lack. After the last two games I'm seriously ****ed off with Pardew and the players it's difficult to see where we go forward from here but I'd make whole sale changes.
