He's very good when he's fit but last season he only managed 11 games and so far in pre season he got 45 minutes against Eastleigh where he went over on his ankle and hasn't featured since. He will be lucky to play 10 times this season imo.

Probably didn't make my point properly, he's still here but he can't be relied on imo. Too many injuries.

I know Murty hasn't signed but it must be a forgone conclusion we wouldn't mess him around for this long. I should probably have put Lallana right wing ahead of Thompson. Paterson might be unproven but he looks class from what i've seen he seems to have everything apart from the eye for goal, would make a good partner for Rasiak. if Rasiak goes he will need replacing as number one priority, we won't get anywhere without a recognized goal scorer, will be just like last season all over again. Obviously Pardew knows that and I imagine he will be in talks with strikers now if Rasiak is on the move.

If we just crowbar 7 new players into our squad we won't hit the ground running at all. If Rasaiak goes he will need replacing, Holmes needs replacing and we probably need another centre back because Thomas and Perry won't last all season. Add Murty to that and we should have a pretty strong starting XI and subs bench and we won't have a whole new team to gel. Personally I hope Rasiak stays, Murty signs and we get a decent winger and centre back in before the 8th. Really don't see an urgent rush to bolster any other position. Makes no sense to panic buy a load of players who are no better than what we have only to shift them on or replace them in January.

I'd rather we wait and get the right players than just rush in and sign any old players. Quite happy with Murty and Harding so far and glad we got Davis signed up for three years, it's a shame John slipped through but these things happen. If we can sign a striker, left winger and a centre half before the deadline i'll be happy, if we find ourselves short or underperforming we can quite easily pick up a player or two on loan.

100% agree. Wotte killed him by saying he was world class and lumping him on the right. Could see him being a decent player under a manager like Warnock.

Ross is on 135k a week? wtf I don't think people have a problem with the money Terry earns, I couldn't care less tbh it's just the way he acts like he's Mr Chelsea and all that untill he gets a sniff of some arab money and all his principles go out the window.

You can get a decent pair of boots for under 20 quid, shouldn't really be an issue...

The sad thing is the majority of Chelsea fans wont care that he's used Man City to shaft Chelsea and get big pay rise. Just like Liverpool fans think Gerrard is a loyal scouse hero and completley forget him trying his hardest to join Chelsea two seasons in a row.

Agreed, our lack of wingers will really hinder us. Need to get two maybe three in if we're going to play 4-4-2. Thompson isn't ready yet, Holmes can't be relied on at all, Gobern is still young and better in the centre and while McLaggon looks good he's very young and injured. I think we're ok in the centre, not ideal that we don't have an attacking midfielder like Surman who can chip in with 5-10 goals a season but with Gillett, James, Gobern, Schneiderlin and Lallana there we're covered.

I'm a big fan of Rasiak but even I can't defend how he's played so far this pre season. I really hope as soon as the Millwall game comes around he's back to his old self, he simply hasn't looked interested in any of the 5 games so far. Apart from one header against Cheltenham he hasn't looked like scoring or even dangerous. Hopefully he's just finding his feet and fitness and does want to be here with us next season. Two from Rasiak, Saga, John, Paterson and Lallana would destroy this league. What we will need are wide men with pace who can work to Rasiaks strengths, we had no shape on Saturday and Gillett isn't the right player to be playing off Rasiak, we would have been better off going 4-4-2 with Saga and Rasiak up top. I've never understood why we've hardly ever played those two together upfront.

Gillett, Gobern and James. I'd prefer to get an experienced midfielder who will chip in with 10 goals a season. Matty Holland will just be another slightly more talented Paul Wotton. Schneiderlin looked a fair bit better yesterday as well, I was gobsmacked when he actually won a sliding tackle! The last thing we need is a 35 year old holding midfielder imo.
