14 day trial sounds good, will watch that tomorrow even if it's just for the penalties.

Had to miss Torquay so might be interested in watching, i'll just skip the first 45... How much does it cost for a month, any cheaper for a ST holder?

Totton where shocking, i'd be really suprised if they make it to the first round.

That's total rubbish. We need to get the winning feeling back and that includes tinpot cup games. It's only another 4 games if we get to the final and winning it would be a massive boost to the fans, players, owners, city etc

Who would you drop to bring in the orthadox left winger? Schneiderlin, Hammond and Wotton where all very important to us yesterday and if we played with one less in the middle away from home we'd get over run in the middle and struggle for possesion which is far worse than our left back getting doubled up on occasionally. They had a very good right winger, probably their best attacking player and even with little protection from Lallana we didn't have a problem with it. Harding looked in control for most the game even if he did give the winger too much space. The formation is fine, I don't see any reason to change to a 4-4-2 unless teams really clock on and we start conceeding one or two goals a game from the our left which just isn't going to happen.

The last time I was this optimistic was after the Derby away win last season. Obviosuly all went to **** after that but i'm confident this is different. We seem to have a team spirit for the first time in a while and players who want to win and get us out the league.

Senegal haven't qualified for the ACN.

It was Lallana playing ahead of him. I wouldn't saw he was left exposed really, their right back didn't really get forward much and it was hardly ever a 2v1 situation. Harding was just up against a very good right winger and seemed to leave him in lots of space. At times he seems to play a third centre back rather than a full back, he does usually manage to get a across in time to be fair to him. He's usually closer to Jaidi than the right winger, he obviously knows what he's doing it's not like we're shipping goals because of him and he's a threat going forward. He's isn't a patch on Bale but he's better than Skacel, Surman, Vignal, Mills etc

We can beat anyone in the JPT at home so getting Charlton doesn't really matter. Should get a decent turn out for that one if it's 7.50 again.

Its hard to know wether Schneiderlin, Lallana and James have all improved because they had a years football and the experience that goes with it or if it's just having a better manager playing to their strengths. I think it's a bit of both, just hope the three of them can continue to improve. At the moment I'd probably start James at right back even when Murty is fit and after yesterday I'd start Schneiderlin ahead of Mellis when he's back from England duty.
-
He keeps getting better as well, the partnership with Jaidi is really strong for this league. If we can sign him and Waigo permanently then we've got a team ready for promotion next season. If we can offload a few of the fringe players and then replace them with one or two more quality players in January we will be flying.

Was probably more lager on the floor than at the bar... I'd settle for a **** pub every week if we got a performance like yesterday.
-
I was more impressed with Trottman and James tonight if i'm honest, thought Harding gave the right winger far too much space. Their winger was good though, I'd imagine he'd give James all sorts of problems as well. Probably being overly critical, the whole defence looks solid, can't really complain.

It was pretty horrible, didn't help that I was sober and soaked. I don't think I've been to one nice pub yet this season.

Never felt so rough standing in a football ground but it was so worth the train trip there and back. We bossed the game from start to finish and even when there free kick went in I was still sure we'd go on to win the game. Schneiderlin looked great in a more advanced role and was very unlucky not to win the penalty, he shouldn't have gone down like a sack of **** but there was definate contact. I was a bit worried at the start that we might not have had enough forward thinking midfielders with Mellis out but Schneiderlin really shone and even put in some great tackles tracking back. It seems last season really helped him adapt and now he's really starting to turn it on for us. Hopefully his injury problems are behind him now, he was my MOTM. Lallana took his two goals well and should have had a third really, he's starting to look like the player we all expected him to be. He's so skillfull and quick with the ball, now he's doing that in the rigth areas he's looking really dangerous. I wouldn't be suprised if he finishes our top scorer for the season. Those two where the stand out performers, I don't think there was a bad performance from the rest of our squad. The back four are as good as anything we've put together since we got relegated even including the play off season back four. Wotton looks like a decent holding midfielders when he's got Hammond infront of him and Waigo and Lambert will cause anyone problems. If the season started today we'd win the league easily, it's just a shame we had such a messed up pre season and started so poorly. I honestly think this team would do well in the Championship now, the players are really starting to grow in confidence and starting to really look like a team. Pardew has found the right balance and blend going forward and the defence look solid. Just hope we can avoid any injuries to Jaidi, Trottman, Hammond, Lallana, Waigo or Lambert. If we can keep those six fit for the majority of the season then I think the play offs are a realistic goal. Oh and the fans where as good as I can remember for a long time, probably since Reading. I haven't felt this positive about a Southampton side in a long long time, something just doesn't feel right, i'm not supposed to be happy after an away game...
-
I still think we will stick to our 4-2-3-1 type formation for the majority of games with Connolly coming off the bench. It's been clear since Swindon away that Pardew wants us playing in that way and I don't think this signing will change much. I'm glad we've signed a proven goal scorer but I can't see one of our midfielders dropping out for him regularly. Hopefully this will give Saga a kick up the arse, well hopefully he will go on loan he hasn't done anything for ages.
-
There's a top 50 rich list in the Sun today and he's no where to be seen.
-
Hopefully Lincoln take Molyneux and Forecast as well, they must be ****e. I have been unfortunate to see Pulis play several times, he just isn't a footballer. Even in 10 yards of space he looks rushed in possesion and makes mistakes when there isn't any pressure.

Ok i've joined now let me know if u want to play later

Would this ex Saints side be competative in Premier?
Andy_Porter replied to Weston Saint's topic in The Saints
He's the centre half playing for Pompey, played a handfull of games for us before we released him. Was struggling to think of another ex Saints centre back in the prem. Maybe Andrew Davies if he's still alive. -

Would get relegated. Would beat a few teams every now and then but any 4-5-1 side would destroy them. No height in defence, no power through the middle and no presence at all. Would be ok going forward but that would be about it. Taylor Baird - Higgingbotham - Williamson - Bridge Theo - Delap - Surman - Quashie - Bale Crouch Might be a bit better like that, still doubt they would stay up, lack a proper centre back in there really. -
Was that their first game at the Ricoh? Was an ok atmosphere but only really one song.
