It is hard to reveal a source when you make it up. So if Moyes was talking about us then it's an exciting offer, sounds good to me. According to you Moyes rejected us due to lack of positive funding, maybe 50m + Sales isn't enough for Moyes now who thinks above his station after 5 minutes of failing at united but it will be plenty for another decent manager.
-
Can you point me in the direction of Moyes stating this as fact please? Thanks
-
to be honest I'm not too bothered being used as a stepping stone as it means we've done well, a manager can't move on to bigger and better things if he's been rubbish for us.

He's behiiind youu!

Breaking news about Lambert coming up on ssn

Nah, why would you be nice to someone who has shafted you? He did his job, did it well then moved on before the end of his contract when a bigger club came calling, don't blame him for that but if the club have offered him an improved contract and a nice warchest to spend on players which he then used his agent to negotiate a better deal with Spurs why should the club then be all nicey nice to him? It probably hurt them, in time they might appreciate what he's done but for now he's caused upheaval so I'm not surprised they haven't thanked him.

You saw how I went in to tackles Russ mate! Actually that was more sadistic!
-
Come on, this is exciting! It's what football is all about, the fans are the only ones who stick by a team so we have to deal with it, and some of the masochistic ones of us enjoy it!
-
Bigging us up really, saying we should break bank to keep best players and give poch what he wants in terms of signings and let him try to get us into top 6. Also saying we could attract managers like Simeone due to money in premier league. Hmmm
-
Whatever you have done Baj, seems to have done the trick, I'm no longer being redirected. Thanks

A view from a spurs supporter. He raises some good points, I think Poch is more valuable to us due to the team spirit etc than he would be elsewhere. I can't quite believe the support that Poch is getting. I have nothing against the guy but what has he achieved to warrant being manager of our club? I just don't get it. He done well with the Saints in his first full season but not as good as Laudrup did at Swansea and where is he now? Poch is obviously a decent coach but c'mon guys they have bloody good players, 3 are going to the WC with England opposed to our NIL and as a settled squad they are better then us at the moment because we don't even know what our best eleven is! Yet they finish 15-16 points behind us in the league and we had a change of manager mid season in one of the most frustrating seasons ever. It may come back to haunt me and Poch may turn out to be the next Martinez in a season or two but at the moment I think it represents a massive risk.

No, they work at saints as well as other places but that's it, I very much doubt they are aware of this forum, definitely wouldn't post on here.
-
Hope so, but they were pretty adamant it's actually already happened. Hopefully be proved wrong, but going to be an interesting week ahead.

Heard today from someone reliable, ie they got the info from the club that poch has signed a long term deal. Unfortunately the flip side is the deals are done for Shaw to United and lallana to Liverpool, expect announcements before the England team meet up at the weekend. That's all I've been told, I'm assuming the funds are being made available to poch if he's signed up.
-
Even if we reinvest 75% of sales into the first team it should be enough to cover some outstanding debts and leave a sizable kitty for player investment.
-
Making the most of a bad situation - Sell Shaw and Ozzie for circa 40 million and reinvest the whole amount into the squad, we lose only one first team player but quite conceiveably bring three in with 40m. Hopefully this will persuade Poch and Adam to stay. If Lallana goes then it's about 35m with Ozzie going, again re-invest the funds and give the captaincy to Lovren, he has to stay, more important than Shaw in my opinion, if not Lovren then Morgan, either way try and keep them sweet. I'm sure if we looked at it we could try and make positives from what's happening....

England World Cup Squad - Lambert, Lallana and Shaw included

I missed the part this season when we finished above Liverpool to be champions -
Be interesting if Roy is in attendance with his season ticket as I believe this Sundays games he will run the rule over some last minute decisions, ie - is Shaw good enough for the 23 or will it just be the 30 and will Clyne (and maybe cork) get into the 30. If Roy attends then I think we might have a couple more in the 30 than we think. I still think only Adam and Rickie will be in the 23 though.
-
Adam is a pretty big fish in a medium sized pond where he's worked hard and overcome his problems with being captain that he is extremely proud of. At Liverpool he'd be a pretty big fish in a big pond with bigger fish and he'd never be captain. His quality deserves champions league football but I reckon he's going to wait until we show our ambition, he's not going to leave lightly.

Walker out of World Cup, room for Clyne?
Saint_Ash replied to Golac's Iron Gonads's topic in The Saints
I reckon Clyne will be one of the seven standby players if Walker and Jones are not fit, has to be another injury to maybe Johnson or Smalling to move up to the 23. That would still be a boost for him though. -
What a boring thread and it's not even the close season yet. People don't get on, fact of life, the beauty about a forum is that if someone annoys you can ignore them or leave the computer for a bit. There are some wierdos on here but everyone is different, how boring would it be if we were all the same.

Caulker and Lovren in the centre of defence? YES PLEASE.

Walker out of World Cup, room for Clyne?

Hodgson stated I'm his last interview that if someone new comes in now it will be because he's watched him over the course of the season and not be based on last few games. Suggests to me a Saints player does have a chance to get into final 30 so I wouldn't be surprised to see clyne as a standby. He won't go but will be the happy ones to know he's actually in Roy's thoughts.
