Fonte's attitude has definitely changed since the Euros. Apparently him and VvD don't get on which was a surprise to me and VvD has just had a baby and his other half doesn't want to go anywhere meaning VvD isn't going anywhere.

No, you can't get rid of manager the players don't like, he's meant to be in charge, I personally would flog the players that a causing the upset. Or at least the main one disrespecting the manager. Players have too much power these days and rarely think about the club they play for Just their pocket. Shall we just get the players to appoint our next manager?

But why should he get a new contract 6 months after he signed one? He was offered more money and an additional year which I think is absolutely fair regardless if it's additional to his current contract or a new one.

It's not to please another club but to ensure we get maximum money for him and if he was excluded completely for every game there would be more questions asked than being on the bench.

He's a good centre back but I think he's past his best now, been a fault for a few goals this season when he has played. He is no where near the level of VvD, and if we can pull off another gem like that then we'll be ok.

Why can't he be easily replaced? I'm sure we have a load of defenders being eyed up for this possibility, especially as he wanted out as soon as he came back from the Euros. Or do you mean his morale boosts in the changing room, that's doing well by the sounds of it.

If we get about £6m for fonte then that will be invested in a young up and coming international that will want to be here. Fonte is not irreplacable, actually very easily replaceable.

I remember watching him thinking he is not good enough for Sunday league, one of the worse players I've seen in a Saints shirt, and there have been a few bad ones. I really wanted Tadinari Lee to come good, I remember watching him live at Watford when Rickie got his Hat-trick thinking he would be excellent.

I'm very much in the Puel to remain camp until then end of the season to see where we finish. Knee jerk reactions don't help anyone and it is easy to do that after 3 defeats, but I was told from someone who was at the Saints Christmas dinner after the win against Bournemouth that when puel was making a speech, bertrand, fonte and Redmond were laughing and taking the p1ss out of him. He doesn't seem to gain the respect of the players. Maybe he should take on board what the players have to say and see if it makes any difference. A couple of wins and a cup win against Liverpool and moods will change.
