  1. Bertrand would be excellent but not as exciting for deadline day!
  2. Woo. multimillion pound deal. Who can that be?
  3. How about not selling anyone? For Southampton that is a big plus!
  4. To go to the shops and stuff?
  5. I'm not sure there was any doubt about Morgan staying on for the season was there? There were no reports about him leaving in January.
  6. Palace resigning Zaha on a permanent is a decent bit of business.
  7. But Batman had Gardos on the bench already, can't Gardos and McCarthy both be on the bench?
  8. Evens to join QPR! http://www.skybet.com/football/transfer-specials/event/17461135?aff_id=11826&dcmp=snt-bet-football-0202-osvaldo-TW
  9. Tadic wasn't woeful, he was one of the better players in the first half, his crossing was poor in the second half but he wasn't the worse player on the pitch. Elia is a great player, watching him in the flesh instead of the tv you get an even better appreciation of how good he is, if we can keep him beyond the rest of the season Id'd be well happy.
  10. Or stop us from putting in a bid at all. The option to buy all seems a bit strange to me, there's always an option to buy if the price is right.
  11. I'd be happy with just one of Morgan or Vic in the midfield alongside young Reed against QPR, would've made the world of difference yesterday.
  12. I think I'm in the minority of really enjoying deadline day. I look forward to seeing if we get any players in (and hope we don't lose any decent ones) but also laugh at the big teams being shafted for average players to try and help them in the Champs league. I don't see a problem with it myself.
  13. A mere scratch!
  14. Great news. Be a decent option on the bench for the final 3rd of the season.
  15. I agree with all this. Tadic is getting some unfair stick imo. Was no where near the worse player in the pitch in fact in the first half I thought he was one of the best players. I sit 5 rows back in Itchen central and his work down the line was excellent. I couldn't really see too much of him in the second half but he didn't seem to have as much of an impact. I think we were pretty good but need to find that killer instinct in front of goal again.
  16. Thought he was excellent, I'm really liking Reed, not a replacement for Cork but a replacement for Morgan when he moves on in the summer. Some of his tackling was great and he does nice simple passing.
  17. Double faceplate? When one faceplate isn't enough?
  18. Monk, I sit just to the right of the dugout and Monk had a go at him and Bertrand was shouting to Monk that he got the ball or went for the ball. From where I was sitting both players were going hell for leather to reach the loose ball but Bertrand had his eye on the ball the whole time and unfortunately when he slid in for it Barrow came out worse. If Barrow wasn't hurt and just got up it'd have been a yellow or nothing at all. As alluded to earlier on this thread though I watched them having a spat earlier in the game but they made up pretty quickly. I doubt we'll appeal for fear of the additional ban for frivolous appeal.
  19. God knows how we'll cope after selling ronaldo to Swansea. He was our best player apparently so we're bound to lose.
  20. I'd go with this. If we have academy products coming through who can go on to be better than Cork (maybe) then they will be given a chance and Cork can move on elsewhere where he will get his game time.
  21. Ashley Williams may be out which is good for us as he's probably their best defender and in midfield they've lost Sigurdsson, Ki Sung Yeung and Routledge who are 3 first teamers. So looks like 4 first team players could be out but we're without Toby, Morgan, Vic, Long, Rodriguez and maybe Mane so I think we're worse off.
