I'm sure he was offered a deal that would reflect his abilities and the amount of game time he's going to have. I wouldn't be surprised if he's not happy with the offer on the table at all as it's probably "only" about 20K per week for a couple of years and he sees the other players latest contracts probably double that.

Not much chance of getting into Europe according to Talksport's super computer predictor. Liverpool get that 4th spot! http://talksport.com/football/supercomputer-reveals-final-pl-table-and-without-transfer-deals-150122133412?

It's completely different with Fonte, he was the best player in his position and isn't being threatened by any youths coming though. He's a more senior person in the dressing room that everyone looked up to hence why he got the captaincy and I for one and glad that Koeman saw that. It's all about opinions and in mine Cork isn't an excellent player and we had lots of players in similar positions at the club and coming up through the ranks. I think he is easy to replace, Reed has pretty much replaced him already.

Seems like we're going to bring anyone in then, hopefully it's ruse to keep the other clubs off some cracking player we're going to bring in.

Hopefully it can catch on, for new songs, this one and Sweet Child of Clyne are the best ones put forward. The Toby one might drag out too much though but it's definitely worth giving it a go.

How about the fancy suites? This you have to part with about 80 quid for those but you can make up for it by drinking as much as possible.

Do you like it then?

Looks like he's had an electric shock -
I would say some of these united fans are feeling the pressure! http://community.manutd.com/forums/t/288283.aspx?PageIndex=3

Great thread!

How can this be? He wasn't even in Garth Crook's team for the Premiership?

Has someone jokingly told him he might be able to manage the "actual" Southampton one day?

Born in Chesterfield in '78, lived in Sheffield, I remember when I was about 6 a load of friends going on about supporting Sheffield Wednesday as they were a pretty decent outfit then but just to annoy them all I said I supported Sheffield United. Unfortunately my parents and older brother had no affinity for football unlike me so when we moved to tiny village in Somerset called Westonzoyland when I was 7 I have no recollection of supporting anyone, it wasn't until we moved again to Southampton when I was 9 that I made friends at school whose parents took them to the the Dell and I tagged along. One of my earliest memories was of Shearer scoring his hat-track and of the surge forward at every goal and being crushed against the bars when standing. Loved it! Now I have a season ticket with my young boy and I still don't think my parents or brother have set foot in a football stadium. I must have been adopted!

Looking at the league money I'd say we're well placed to pick up what Everton roughly received, so about £85M this year!

If we can win some silverware in the next couple of years with Fonte holding aloft the trophy then he would be my bet.

Maybe the contract isn't there anymore. Just needs to take it slowly even if that means not playing again this year. Have to Think about his career first and foremost.

Looking at the next fixtures for arse and man u, this makes beating Swansea at home pretty important. Then again we'll be saying this every week I feel!

He has 7 assists for the season so far which is pretty good as he'd only played 90 minutes 4 times. Only Sigurdsson (8 ), Baines (8 ), Tadic (9) and Fabregas (15!!) are better than him on the assist charts and Sanchez, Oscar, Sterling, Henderson and Downing are in the same boat as 7 so JWP is in good company. I'd like to see him try and be like Fabregas, working in the number 10 role seeing a quick pass to the striker to create a goal, just like he did in the first goal for Elia. Great ball. As already mentioned I can see him taking the mantle form Davis at some point but taking it further. Got an excellent future with Saints.
