Maybe he's biding his time, waiting for his agent to tell him about serious interest. If that's what's happening then sod him, take away the contract offer and tell his agent to contact the club when he's ready to talk then offer a new one. Could be a risky game he's playing.

I suppose it encourages league performance which will be a bonus for us as more than likely a top 4 team will win the FA cup and if we slip out of the top 4 (which if we're being honest if pretty likely at some stage) we can come 5th or 6th and still take a Europa place which we will deserve.

I think the tables have turned on Rodriguez as when the contract offer was initially given to him he saw all the players leaving and probably felt we were going to struggle so held all the cards. Now though we're doing exceptionally well and he hasn't had any game time and probably won't play much until the end of the season. If I was the club I'd tell his advisors he has a month to sign the contract until it will be withdrawn and maybe another contract will be issued with less favourable terms. Saying that, if he comes back as good as when he left he'll be a great asset but we have proven ourselves without him and with the black box we can probably replace him for less than what we'll receive if we sell him.

I do love that photo!

Imagine if man city had nothing to play for but if they lost it meant we Get top 4 and United don't! The city fans will be cheering us on!

Are there any photos or vids of Sammy Lee going mental at old Trafford, I can only imagine it and it makes me laugh, see it would be even funnier!

I know we did a number on Man U but no away game is a gimme imo. If we're in and around the top 4 placings with 3 games to go I'll be bricking it against Leicester, especially if they're fighting for their life at the other end. We're going to drop silly points at some stage, just have to hope the other teams do as well.

I'd like to see long start up front and rest Pelle, also rest one of Morgan or Vic as the amount of running around in the centre of the pitch they do is phenomenal. I'd go with - ---------------------Fraser---------------------- Bertrand------Fonte--------Gardos------Targett --------------Morgan--------------Reed---------- ------------------------Tadic-------------------------- JWP--------------------------------------------Davis -------------------------Long----------------------- Rest Clyne as only came back from injury recently and 3 games in a week could be damaging. Interchange JWP/Davis/Tadic behind long and have the bull terrier Reed alongside Morgan and rest Big Vic, Morgan missing the Arse game should be a bit fresher. A bench of Clyne, Pelle, Wanyama, Cork (if fit), McCarthy and a couple of youngsters seems pretty strong.

Eljero Elia - Confirmed 6 Month Loan
Saint_Ash replied to Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd's topic in The Saints
He puts himself about a bit, looks pacey and skilful, his turn past Phil Jones was excellent. Likes to get stuck in as well. Another excellent addition I think. -
Having one of the best defenders ever to have lived as manager is definitely reaping it's rewards this season. The pull he has to bring players in can't be underestimated either. We have not even finished his first season yet and I can tell the bloke will be a Southampton legend.

I agree with that, great chance.

To do well in the cup? Why won't we do as well next season or the season after? A lot of the top teams are still in it right now.

Koeman is still young and improving. As discussed on here the other day Barcelona generally appoint one of their own as manager so I'm sure he knows at some point he will get a shot at being their manager. That's why he's so cool about it. Leaving Saints halfway through his first season won't look good for him even if doing well at the time but if he can guide us to our best ever Premier League finish and a good cup run his CV would look better and he'll be happier.
-
Saying out loud seems ridiculous. I still can't believe we could be anywhere near 4th in the league come the end of the season as it doesn't compute in the brain and there are loads of games to go, if we're still top 4 come the end of March then belief will start to creep in.

I put this elsewhere but fits perfectly here - What happens if Chelsea or Man City win the CL? Does the Premier League get an extra place so it would be down to fifth to get a champs league place? Can't imagine if we have two prem teams winning the Euro trophies we could have 6 teams in the Champs league...

Top 4 and FA cup trophy will do me. What happens if Chelsea or Man City win the CL? Does the Premier League get an extra place so it would be down to fifth to get a champs league place?

I would pay to see that happen!

The presenter (Danny Kelly I think it was) stated that he was told first hand by disgruntled footballers that the PFA were not helping them find work as much as they were for Evans. Is he lying?
-
Did Tyson go back to boxing when he got out of prison served for rape?
-
Good, unfortunately not good enough for us now Liverpool have ruined him.
-
The PFA are fighting hard to get Evans back to work as a footballer and it was pointed out last night on Talksport that there are lots of out of work footballers just been released from their clubs that the PFA haven't done anything for. Strange why they are pushing for Evans but ignoring the struggling hard working players that haven't raped anyone.

He won't go to stoke!

Not sure how Dave Kitson would know, no ties to Arse or Us I believe.
