Since he signed we've also had: Van Damme Bernard Higgy Brennan Bale Makin Wright Skacel Vignal Surman O'Halloran Molyneux Mills play for the first team at LB. I think Vignal was just about the best of that lot.

I thought Saga seemed to have lost a lot of pace last season. Still put the effort in, but I wouldn't call him quick. Could work well with John or Rasiak, but the latter two couldn't work together. No pace what-so-ever in that partnership.
-
But we did need another left back. I don't care if Mills is the next Roberto Carlos, if he gets a groin strain in the first 10 mins against Millwall (remember Claus at Derby 3 years ago) we need a suitable replacement. Molyneux is not suitable. Don't care what order they come in TBH, as long as they get here. Two centre halves and a midfielder in every possition is a must IMO.

I've added a confirmed squad list to the HCDAJFU sticky. Make what you will off it, but there's 23 players, including DH. The list also includes 4 'keepers, Molyneux, Pulis and John (who is still out of contract) so still very thin on the ground IMO.

Anyone else see his picture and think, "F**k me, Simon Gillett's grown a bit!" Welcome aboard Dan! Molyneux... you know the rest.
-
I see after last season, having some quality cover is a complete mystery to some people. It leaves him and Fish having to fight for the left back spot. Hopefully we will bring in another left winger too. Don't forget we have lost 9 first team regulars from a pretty thin squad last season. I'd say we need at least 12 quality players in to be competitive. With Skacel, Surman and World Class Ryan Smith gone, Holmes exposed as a cripple and Molyneux exposed as complete gash, we need a lot more decent cover down the left IMO.

A tragic and incredibly unlucky accident indeed. RIP and condolences to all involved. Sadly not the first time a stray wheel has killed someone in a racing accident. The last 2 F1 fatalities involved stray wheels hitting marshals. There was the one from the 2000 Italian Grand Prix: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYP_7jxj-7k A marshal was killed by the right rear of Trulli's (Jordan on the right as you look at them I think) car. The race was not stopped. And a few months later at the 2001 Aussie GP, a wheel off Villeneurve's car went through a hole barely bigger than the wheel itself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfEtxjDwB8s There was also a little remembered incident from Imola '94 when debris from a crash at the start knocked a fan into a coma.

I know, it's like they're hell-bent on relegation or something. This news is fantastic if true. Our squad is very short on quality. We may have lost a (very old) pair of legs, but not much else IMO. A striker who delivered 5 goals in 2 seasons? I'll pass thanks.
-
Wasn't there on Saturday, but it sounded like being the lone front man does suit him at all. Much the same as BWP, Saga, John, DMG, Jones, Fuller... infact pretty much every striker we've had in the last decade.
-
Ok, that's enough.
-
Well, the IOW is the Gaza strip of South Coast football.
-
They seem bent on some Real Madrid-esq quest to have a squad full of strikers. It strikes me as a bit odd. No way they're going to keep Adebayor, Tevez, Robinho, Bojinov, Santa Cruz, Caicedo, Benjani, Jo and Bellendamy happy. I can already see Jo never returning to Eastlands.
-
I disagree. With out current squad and -10, we could easily get out this division next season, through the back door.
-
Actually, I forgot about Robertson and Pulis. Sub them in for Euell and Draper.
-
To the tune of Michael Jackson's 'Heal the World' (If you don't know it listen tp the chorus on Youtube.) Jason Euell He's better in attack Than Bradley or Marek or even Rasiak Games are [pause] never boring When Jason Euell is scoring Score a wonder goal for you and for me The only problem is that Euell is, IMO, crap. We therefore need to sign a striker with three sylables in his name. There is also, "I love Nazi Gold" to the tune of 'I love rock and roll'. Trouble is I can't think of any other lines which aren't racist and the whole thing is pretty much offensive to our new owners.

By neck of the woods, I meant in the general area. Parsons and Maggie were from Grantham, SIN I know was from just outside Grantham. Titmuss is apparently from Ruskington, so yeah nearer Sleaford, about half hour drive from Grantham.
-
Was born in Grantham (Same neck of the woods as Maggie Thatcher, Sir Isaac Newton er... Nicholas Parsons and er... Abi Titmuss :-k ) Left when I was 3, moved around a bit then ended up back there in a village called Cherry Willingham, near Lincoln, a few years later. Long way from home up here, even further from Southampton.

Well, that's a good start. He will have to put in a few decent performances in the League to really prove his mettle. Hopefully AP is the man to get the best out of it. Dellgirl, maybe you're getting a bit carried away there?
-
Mine's working fine, I'm listening to it right now. 3-0 up at home to Leeds, COYR!!!!
-
I'd have Prutton in midfield and neither of them up front.
-
Saints take the lead through Fish Mills. Suarez (2, 1 pen) De Jong and Zeigler score for Ajax. Sounds like it was going reasonably well up until 80 mins. Any thoughts on players and the general atmosphere from those at the game.
-
And another. Pretty lame end to what sounded like a half decent performance. 1-4
-
De Jong. Mix up between Wotton and Davis apparently. 22,000 + apparently.
-
Stealth sub.
-
Suarez again.
