Wage capping in football. It's the way forward. We'd have less clubs going under with huge debts and fans wouldn't be charged extortionate amounts for tickets at Prem grounds. £100 to watch the Arse? I think I'd go and watch Barnet actually.

Feck all in Bristol. Zilch. Nil. Nada.

No, the FA were bell-ends giving out such a ridiculous ban for a light push. Players have been given half that for kicking and punching each other.
-
Based on what you've just said... it's a nailed on 0-0.

How many Forum members does it take....

1 mod to lock the light bulb thread because it had diverged into trolling from people who think candle's are safer because they are less likely to start fires. 3 posters to start a new light bulb thread 2 to start "why was the light bulb thread locked FFS!?" threads. 5 posters to send the mod a PM saying "why was the light bulb thread locked FFS!?" 1 more who just sends a PM saying "you're a c**t!" -
A small contingency plan. Should we find ourselves behind at any stage, let's all sing: "Beat you at Wembley We're gonna beat you at Wembley Beat you at Weeeeeeeeeembley We're gonna beat you at Wembley."

There would be no tyres left in the car park.

Good luck to them. I'm sure we all feel their pain.

About the news, or the fact that Renault missed out?

If anyone wants a bit of easy money, you can probably get good odds on Saints to beat the Dons 6-2 on agg. That's a nailed on certainty.

Actually, I've just thought of a great sponsor. They even have Swiss connections. I'd love a giant picture of a purple cow on the side of the stadium somewhere on a banner.

The 2 goals at Norwich have put us ahead of last year's goal tally in all competitions. With 6 in the FA Cup, 6 in the JPT and 3 in the League Cup, we now have 53. Last year we had 6 League Cup and 46 League goals, 52 in total. W00T!!!

I first read that as "Draper, on the back". Sent a shiver down my spine.
-
Lol, forgot about the League game, wasn't there. Yes, I was refering to the cup.

Connolly's debut goal at Oldham was fairly late on. We've conceded a couple, at Northants and Bristol late on, neither mattered in the end though.

Problem is their brand is already out there. They don't need sponsorship from League 1 football teams. I suspect it will either be Flybe again or someone from completely out of the blue.
-
Whoever it is, it'd be nice to have someone a bit different from rent-a-sponsor Flybe.
-
Exactly. There is a difference between spending a manageable amount of money on players, wages and upgrading facilites, compared to throwing £200m odd on transfers alone. Yes we do. You're obsessed with the idea that Saints are blowing massive amounts of cash.
-
Well, for a start we have much higher attendances that most clubs in our league, meaning several million extra in gate receipts. This extra revenue should easily cover our transfer spending and the higher wage bill compared to smaller clubs. Secondly we have only really splashed out on Lambert. This is more in the style of Man Utd signing one quality player on a large fee (e.g. Rooney, Ferdinand, Valencia) per season. Thirdly we've had to buy these players to replace those that left in the summer. More in the trend of Man Utd (Rooney to replace Solskjaer, Valencia to replace Ronaldo, Ferdinand to replace Staam etc.) rather than Man City (buy 9 strikers etc).
-
Change the record for crying out loud. There is a big difference, we aren't going to make a massive financial loss with the players we have signed. A loss, probably, but nothing like what Man City have done. We are the Man Utd of L1, not Man City. Finally! One person on this thread with the right idea. The whole point of shirt sponsors is to generate extra revenue. It's astonishing the number of fans who have decided we don't need money now that Marcus is in charge. "We don't need a sponsor, we don't need any prize money from the JPT or FA Cup, less bung Lallana £5m to make him stay" etc. How many times does it need saying. Saints are being run as a BUSINESS. Money is important to Leibherr, we aren't a play thing he is just going to throw money at like Chelsea, Man City and Pompey.
