I don't think there is a case for them striking at all. BA have to make cuts in order to survive, there's no point in protesting about it. I think when it comes to pay deals, their cabin crew have some of the best rates in Europe. One of the things they are complaining about is a pay freeze. Who in their right mind working for a company loosing £300m a year would ask for a pay rise... Ryanair does not recognise any trade unions, which means there are no strikes. Despite this most of the staff are more than happy with their jobs.

9 points isn't feck all, it's a large amount. Considering we started the season 10 points off the playoffs and we're all but halfway through the seaon, it really is an uphill struggle. The fact of the matter is we will need to score an automatic promotion amount of points to make the playoffs. If you can name any team in history which has won 1 of it's first 10 League games and finished in the top 2, I'd be more than a bit surprised. 9 points from safety isn't the end of the world. But in that scenario, three wins and you're right back in it. With promotion it's different. It's more like three wins and the team in 6th wins two and draws one. It only gets you two points nearer. You'd need to maintain that form (i.e. winning every game) for about four months to overhall the team in sixth.

No, we have an outside chance of promotion. We are still 9 points off the playoffs and making progress against the teams in the top 6 will be much slower than overtaking the teams at the bottom. I'm not giving up, but I wouldn't throw away the chance of our first piece of Silverware for 34 years on one heck of a long shot. Not a question of importance, it's about likelyhood.
