Thanks for that phil, by this time next year I shall be 18 and fancied the idea of earning a bit of wonga and getting to go to the festival at the same time, although I doubt they would employ many 18 year olds. I shall do some googling and see what I can come up with... Apparently the bar staff were all volunteers from charitable organisations or work scheme programmes according to one bloke working on the bar, so might have a look in at working on there. I saw a couple of saints shirts, was going to take mine but it's L/S and I probably would've been boiled alive inside it.
-
I was thinking of doing some volunteer work at the festival next year phil, to pay for my ticket! I'm guessing you've worked with various organisations in the past, any recommendations?

Murray was beaten by a better player today, Roddick has come back from a long run of poor form and has shown that he can challenge the big boys at the top. However, Federer to win on Sunday I think, I can't see anyone but him winning.

Oh, you guys and your pathetic little feud. You're supposed to be grown men ffs, and all you're doing is arguing about a forum...grow up a bit.

ThePirateBay is being bought and turned into a legal download service.....b*llocks.

I watched them, their sound was a bit 'epic' for a tent I thought. They were alright though, and the fact that everyone cleared off afterwards meant I got to be on the barrier, centre stage for Esser afterwards (who was great)!
-
I watched them too, they weren't too good tbh. They are one of my favourite bands but they disappointed me a bit with that set. Look up their Radio 1's Big Weekend set on YouTube if you want to see them in full swing, that's what they are usually like live. Also, the f*ckers put their set back 35 minutes so naturally I arrive at the stage at 3.40 to find them nearly at the end of their set! Needless to say I was rather p*ssed off. Glastonbury is a great experience, and most of the people that sat here at their computers all weekend posting about how sh*t it looked on the telly really missed out on something that will stay with us Glastonbury goers for the rest of our lives! So boo to you! Also, I find it astounding that some of you saw the Killers/the Kooks ahead of acts like I saw over the weekend like Madness, Blur, The Specials, The Maccabees, Bloc Party, Bruce Springsteen, The Rakes, Kasabian, Lily Allen and Pete Doherty.
-
Did you go? Armchair pundits shouldn't make judgments like how 'good' the festival was.
-
Gutted I didn't get to see him, got down there nice and early for his set but it was already packed so I went to watch The Ting Tings instead (despite my futile protests to my mates...). Bet he went down a treat eh? He's great live, wish i'd seen him now. I propose a questionnaire for all you Glastonbury-ees, just fill this in to sum up your festival! Best Act - Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band Worst Act - Pete Doherty/The Ting Tings Best Onstage Moment - Bruce Springsteen's guitar swinging antics Best Offstage Moment - Watching a reveller fall over in the mud with a pint in each hand, drenching himself. Festival Anthem - 'Tender' by Blur Act You'd Like To Play Next Year - Arcade Fire

Just got back - what an amazing weekend. The weather was great (most of the time anyway), the music was great and the atmosphere was great. Which one of you was walking around with a chequered saints flag? Saw that quite a few times over the weekend. Also, another saints flag camped near The Park, I was camped right next to you whoever you were! Best acts of the festival for me were: 1) Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band 2) Kasabian 3) The Maccabees 4) Blur 5) Madness Unfortunately Pete Doherty was cack as he seemed to be completely off his face. Roll on next year I say!

Favourites Dylan Moran Russell Brand (but only on his radio shows) Frankie Boyle (but he repeats all his Mock the Week material live and is retiring next year) Jillyanne (even though she doesn't do it intentionally) Least Favourite Andy Parsons (unfunny tw*t) Hugh Dennis (even unfunnier tw*t) Michael McIntyre (the least funny tw*t in the whole f*cking world)

I didn't pay my fiver, but can I be ITK too please? Thanks muchly. [/sarcasm]

O noes, I hate walking!

'Special Guests' on Pyramid Stage, Friday confirmed as N*E*R*D. Tbf, I shan't be going to see them, but a decent band nonetheless. I shall be watching The Virgins in the John Peel tent at that time, and am mucho looking forward to it. Really looking forward to seeing them for the 4th time! Always good live, and just a great band all round. However, i'm not up for The Ting Tings before them, what an overrated band they are. If they qualify for the title of 'band', in their case it seems to be that they consist of one shrieking woman and a tw*t banging a drum. I shall be watching most of The Specials' set and then heading over to see Jamie T.

Unfortunately for her she's just been chowed down on by some Feral Ghouls in my game...dumb b!tch running away everywhere. Wasn't going to Rivet City anyway! Just earned the title 'Ranger of the Wastelands' too, which makes me feel all nice and warm inside. Still going to blow up Megaton though, I want that apartment in Tenpenny Tower! Has anyone else experienced the frequent CTD's (crash to desktop) that i'm getting with this game? If so, have you found a fix? It's getting to the point where the game is crashing every 5-6 minutes.
-
Cheers for the update Swanny, site is looking good! Doubt it'll look the same come Monday afternoon though
-
Only just got this recently for PC, it crashes all the ferking time. After scouring teh innernetz for a fix there doesn't seem to be one either. Balls. Currently working my way through the Wasteland Survival Guide quest and i'm in the Irradiated Metro Station with Cherry (who I picked up from Dukov's place...muahahahahaha). T'is a bloody good game.

What he said, i'm no seeder!

Arguing about whether we deserve it or not isn't going to help, the fact of the matter is that we've been lumbered with the points deduction. While it would certainly be beneficial to start the season on level pegging with the 23 other clubs in our division, we aren't, and I doubt the FL will change their position on that. I'd much rather have the takeover completed tomorrow or Monday rather than have the deal dragged on for weeks while the FL and Pinnacle debate the decision.
-
I know this is a bit premature, but apparently for next year's festival (the 40th anniversary) the Eavis' are planning to book acts from every year of the festival. Who do you think the headliners will be? My money's on Coldplay, Radiohead and The Rolling Stones headlining Pyramid, with Sex Pistols, Pet Shop Boys and R.E.M playing the Other stage. Really excited about the festival now, only a few more days!

I'm quite a serial downloader, but never upload anything. Ought to keep me safe for a little while longer while the bloodhounds track down the uploaders It's ridiculous the lengths that companies go to nowadays to assert themselves, surely they can see that the way that people get their music is changing, and they need to change with it? I can't remember which company it was, but they are supposedly launching a download service where you pay a set amount of money per annum and get unlimited downloads of tracks in their database afterwards. THAT is the future, but record companies are just a little too blind and self-absorbed to see that.
-
Perhaps a press release tomorrow saying that Pinnacle have bought the club, and a conference on monday with the board and/or a new manager?

So many! '76 cup final (wasn't born) Last game at the Dell (was ill, had to give up my tickets!) '03 cup final (was on holiday) Survival vs Sheff Utd season before last (sold out) I'm quite underpriveliged really

Oh f*cknuts. Hopefully this isn't true, but if it is then that Swiss consortium had better be ready to make an acceptable bid.
