A cheap scooter can be a liability in terms of trying to get spare parts for them, join a scooter or moped forum and they'll let you know what the aftersales and spares situation is. There were alot of dirt cheap MX style bikes doing the rounds at around £7-800 new, loads of people bought them and then found there was no spares backup! Better to buy a year old model from Honda/Suzuki/Aprilia/Yamaha etc.
