Strange how this statement from Antonov does not touch at all on the reasons given for the nationalisation or the alleged illegality. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/local/east-hampshire/pompey_owner_vows_to_fight_bid_to_nationalise_his_bank_1_3263319

Uni at 18 like a lot of people I suspect.

When these awards started I suspect they very much were. Also the premiership may not be representative throughout football.

In some ways it is unfortunate that minorities feel the need to do this sort of thing but I fully understand why they feel they need to do so. Again I go back to my point that those in minorities often feel that need a group of their own as they may not feel so aligned with a group that covers everyone which will generally cater to the majority. That to me is the key different. Anyway enough of arguing in circles...
-
They are differentiating themselves. That is the point. Now if a group of solely white people decided to award a prize to the best black player there would rightly be outrage.
-
No THEY are celebrating, I failed to see where we are told to celebrate.
-
Where in this are we told to praise people based on their skin colour? If people in a minority want to get together and celebrate the achievements of some members of that minority then that's fine by me.
-
Thinks its fairly obvious that when you have a situation with a majority and a minority that often the minority get together for mutual support (as they are in the minority) where as the majority don't need that support. These people in the minority may feel they need things like awards to recognise those in their minority that might not get the recognition otherwise. Thus you have the black list awards (as they are called) but you do not get white player awards as those in the majority are better catered for by organisations that cover all footballers, such as the PFA and so do not tend to form their own group.

Are that for paint or the spray tans on strictly...?

Question on this that I don't think has been asked is what caused them to try and move their assets overseas so quickly such that it caused the Lithuanian government to step in? Sounds like without that happening things would have carried on as normal? One scenario is that they decided that the authorities were on to them and tried to get out as much money as they could?

In case people have not seen this. Apple have announced a recall on original ipod nano's due to a battery fault (besides the one that meant that after a while its battery made the lifetime of the mayfly appear like war and peace). http://www.apple.com/uk/support/ipodnano_replacement/ If you have one around, even if its laying in a drawer, like ours, unused for years you can send it back (assuming it passes the serial number check which it looks like they almost always do) and get a replacement. At the moment its not clear if that will be a 'new' version 1 nano (some debate about how many they could possibly have) or a new new nano.

Ah yes the FA who have come out as whiter than white in this with their incisive interventions and crack investigative teams. Though the FA monitor transactions relating to the club into how much depth do they go to check were money is coming from and going to? Given they appear to let opaque virgin island companies own clubs I doubt your average dodgy russian would be quaking in their boots over the prospect of being found out by the FA, especially as they have someone who knows exactly how the FA work in charge. Compare how much it was said he was worth with the value (as was) in his snoras shares and I think we can agree that he has lost a very significant chunk there. Its quite plausible that the authorities may attempt to get at his other assets to cover any missing money if fraud is determined so they are not exactly safe.

http://www.businessweek.com/news/2011-11-18/lithuania-seeks-missing-assets-in-takeover-of-snoras-bank.html I am sure as an upstanding businessman Antonov is probably flying to Lithuania as we speak to clear his name.

Plus if we run with the previously discussed scenario where they have bought the club on HP from Chinny and have only paid a small percentage of the price so far... I guess that the registrations would belong to CSI but there would be a balancing debt to Chinny?
-
Though it should be pointed out that the wildfire is made to a much lower budget than the iphone. When you get to similar priced phones there is much less to choose between them and the samsung has beaten the iphone to a fair number of awards recently.

More interesting is the bit where it says "they want to question the owners". Will he go willingly, be extradited or leave the country all together?
-
Bit of an aside but as I understand it: 1) The police suspect some one of committing a crime 2) They interview said suspect, either while under arrest or under caution if they have presented themselves to the police. 3) They charge the suspect with the crime of they think they have a good case. In the case of Assange he is wanted for questioning and will be charged afterwards if they think they have a case. There has never been a requirement with the method being used to extradite Assange, as far as I know, for someone to be charged with an offence before they can be extradited. As we all know from cop show people are arrested 'on suspicion' of a crime and are then charged later or released.

Does anyone know if the UK has extradition arrangements with Lithuania?

http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/11/17/lithuania-snoras-idUSL5E7MH09920111117 Surely you can't put 'bestest fans' down as an asset?

I am guessing you are deliberately ignoring the difference between low attendance due to capacity and low attendance despite higher capacity.

Should we mine the harbours and install anti aircraft rockets at all the airports while we are at it??
-
Well making no sense appears to the de-facto situation for pompey. You appear to accept that money can be laundered by spending money on players but surely the money for that would have to go through the club in exactly the same way as salary money?
-
Depends where the money for salaries is coming from and what happens to the parachute payments? The russians could 'loan' money to the club to pay the bills and then recover their money from the parachute payments.
