Extremely underwhelmed by this. So what if he played in the champs league final when Chelsea had no other options. Mediocre to poor player. And on loan too. At least we know for sure where the board are aiming us at now. As the saying goes - don't pay attention to what somebody says, pay attention to what they do. So Ralph you can spout your **** but in reality all you have done is sold Shaw and brought in an also ran on loan. If Lowe had done this we would all be up in arms.

Agree. Obviously its emotional for fans when players leave but those running the club need to be dealing in cold hard reality not dreamland. Reality is that good players will always want to leave us for so called bigger clubs. Once that is accepted, which it is by the people who run the club, you can then go about putting in a model that takes advantage of that situation as best you can. I believe the club has attempted to do that - ie bring young players on and sell later for top dollar. I was reading the Celtic forum earlier and they understand this model too. Didn't Cortese say that even the manager was "just an employee" who could be replaced because of the philosophy and systems that have been put in place? The danger of this model is that you don't want to compromise the first team to such a degree that you get relegated - to my mind that means not selling any more players than we already have this summer.

Very much the same as the model now in place at Saints. One could say that this model has worked excellently for us over the close season

They will probably wait a year or two and then try and buy him from us for £25m :-)

Good to see the Scouse view on things from their forum. Always disliked them, but after all this I really dislike them immensely: Sounds to me like the club have a blatant disregard for their players. Lallana having his phonecalls ignored, Lovren not being told about offers. Plus so many changes happening, hard to blame the players wanting to leave. Their fans should quit moaning so much. Lallana leaving them to come here is not the same as Luis leaving us for Barca either. I hope we take Clyne off them too and give them a good slap on the first day of the season. 4-0 should do it.

What a huge ego. Why does he think he is so important that people would be interested in a stupid full page picture of him lauding it up with some **** poor words to go with it. Perhaps he thinks he will inspire us all in the same way he inspired those kids in the Brazilian slum. Funny to see a lot of scouse on their forum underwhelmed with him. As the saying goes, careful how you treat people on your way up cos you'll meet them again on the way down :-)

It would be a gamble, but one well worth taking imo. A well respected person in the game who played at the highest levels. Would certainly give any want away players pause for thought as to whether they should leave or not and would be a great name for attracting new talent too.
