  1. errr no he hasn't. Can't be bothered to google it, but what is his highest ever finish with a team? If we were to get him in, we would be a laughing stock.
  2. What a jerk. He's like a little schoolboy who doesn't like getting his work corrected :-) May be tongue in cheek, but to say Saints have never had any players worth selling (err hasn't Gareth Bale just won the CL?) is just pure cr@p. And as you say, you weren't criticising an industry, just him and his piece of s-h-i-t article. Glad that I don't buy that rag and contribute in any way to his wages.
  3. This post on that Spurs forum made me laugh: If you were Pochettino, you wouldn't be so childish. You'd know perfectly well that a club like Tottenham Hotspur will be looking at a lot of big name managers - some of them considerably bigger names than you - and you wouldn't throw your toys out of the pram about it. You'd just be thrilled if you were eventually offered the job - a job which will pay you far more than your current job and which will allow you to work with far better players and have the opportunity to achieve greater things in the game. Its the typical Spurs "We're a big club honest guv" deluded drivel that comes out of most spuds fan's mouths. Come on Mauricio - you should be thrilled to take over such a massive club
  4. Re reading it you're probably right, although this is the bit I was thinking of when I wrote what I said: Spurs are confident there should not be too much wrangling with Southampton to secure Pochettino, as Saints have already sounded out other managers. Standard Sport understands that Oscar Garcia, the Spaniard who quit as Brighton boss earlier this month, has had a number of conversations with intermediaries and that both Dan Petrescu and Roberto Di Matteo have supporters at St Mary’s
  5. was reading the standard this eve. They seem to think it is a done deal to be announced next week. They also seem to hink we have already had talks with the Spanish geezer who just did so well at Brighton. Nice.
  6. If we get Sherwood in I will seriously consider not going to matches next season
  7. lol lol - I wish my job was just like a footballers in that case
  8. I wasn't saying anything of the sort. I think a lot is lost in meaning writing on these forums. However, the law of averages will not be in our favour if we start selling our best players. Been there, seen it, done it... and it never worked out with a happy ending ever...
  9. Yes, things could get even worse than a lower third of the league scrap for survival if all those players were sold without replacing them with at least some quality
  10. I was buying this until you mentioned Hodgson having any say in the matter
  11. Newcastle, A Villa, Stoke, Swansea have all enjoyed good solid seasons in the Prem in recent years and all have ended up having to sell their best players. To think we won't end up doing the same and consequently end up with the same end result - scrapping it out in the lower third of the league - is naive.
  12. really find it hard to believe that anybody would want sherwood anywhere near saints. He showed how naive he is at spurs last year and would turn into an emabrassment very quickly
  13. If it wasn't a world cup year i would agree with you, but if we sell before the wc, all that will happen is we won't capitalise on the value lallana and shaw will realise by being involved in the biggest trophy on earth and we will then be looking for replacements that probably will have done. I can't see what sense it would make by selling either of them before the wc.
  14. Sounds like he is already trying to impress them. Hopefully the board won't be fooled.
  15. It isn't an article in any sense of the word though. Your reasoning is complete ********.
  16. That team would be relegation fodder. God forbid.
  17. Whilst this all sounds feasible, pray tell how you happen to know all this information in such depth?
  18. Johnson is an awful awful player. If proof is still required of this, just watch the Scouser's capitulation last night. Johnson at fault for at least two of the goals. Terrible player.
  19. Yep completely agree - a club to be admired. Done things the right way and produced some marvelous players over the years.
  20. Absolutely cracking night. Fantastic to see legends like Mark Dennis and Rueben Agboola. Franny was good fun, had great chat with Hugh Fisher. Star of the night was Jim Steele - reckon he could still do a good job for today's team.
  21. Hi, just tried emailing you on raybetts@londonsaints.com but it bounced. Would like to buy 2 tickets
  22. Great shot of King Artur warming up from the BBC FB site
  23. Just hope we don't get Big Fat Sam as part of this package.
  24. Found a good interview with Mr Jianlin http://www.tomspender.com/stories/interview-with-dalian-wandas-wang-jianlin/ And Wang, an avid football fan, was really in the spotlight in July when he provided US$95 million to sponsor the Chinese Super League. Wanda sponsored a Dalian football team in the early 1990s but Wang later withdrew after becoming disillusioned with corruption and match-fixing. But he says he has been encouraged by signs that the Chinese Football Association is cleaning up its act and wants to help Chinese football flourish. Wang also bristles at suggestions that his involvement in football makes him ‘China’s Roman Abramovich’, referring to the Russian billionaire who owns London’s Chelsea football club. “There is no disrespect intended, I just mean to say that there are different paths for making a fortune,” he says. “Most Russian billionaires just grabbed a share of state-owned assets and became rich overnight. Chinese businessmen started from scratch and developed step by step.” In any case, he says, the sponsorship’s aim is to develop young Chinese footballers through its ‘Chinese Football Star of Hope’, in which gifted young Chinese players will be sent to train with Atletico Madrid, Villareal and Valencia in Spain.
