How much realistically would people be happy with us spending on Maynard? I'd be the first to admit I haven't seen to much of him, but what I have seen (various Youtube clips) he does look decent. Could someone who has seen a lot of him play give a fair valuation?

Yeah I see what you're saying, but my, well, all of our points are that we've got 15mil for a player who has never played above the 3rd tier. So, whether or not he goes on to be worth more than 15mil in the future (which of course he will) is irrelevant because no player can be realistically worth that price having never played in the Championship before.

Firstly, AOC has never played above the third tier of English football. And secondly I think it's safe to assume we have got a sell on clause in this deal. Cortese may be a lot of things but he is not stupid. So with regards to the first point at least (because the second one cannot be proved yet), yes, we have taken them to the cleaners.

Wasn't worried at all when I saw him in the line up, for someone so young he has always looked very calm and composed. In the first half (as previously said) he did had a few nervy moments but he dramatically improved in the second half. He saved us a goal with his last ditch block following up from Davis' save from Paynters one-on-one, and as someone else mentioned his pace on a few occasions shone through at times where it was obvious that Jaidi would have struggled. Certainly a better prospect than Seaborne who's not a terrible player. Good to have options. Oh, and he's great in the air. Will be a good player, don't send him out on loan, why would we do that? The best experience he can get is playing here with us.

I watched online and you could definitely hear the usual array of pro Saints songs. The atmosphere sounded great and I wish I could have been there. There are always going to be anti Skate songs, just like there are always anti Saints songs at Nottarf, but to say there were more anti Skate songs yesterday than there were pro Saints is odd 'cause even I could tell that wasn't the case. Some people just love to whinge and moan. "It ruined my day"... oh for goodness sake!

Was also enjoyed out here in China, not in a pub unfortunately but I used my works internet. Jumping around like a madman in an empty office was an interesting way to spend the evening. Didn't get home 'til 3am but it was well worth it.
