  1. Yeah they've always been known as scummers, but skates is more specific so that works.
  2. Chez, I agreed with everything you said up until you called me clueless for slating Kelvins kicking. Unless you were at the bar or similar it would have been impossible not to notice his dreadful goal kicks in the second half. There were 3 on the trot which went straight out of play on our left hand side. Don't get me wrong, I am a Kelvin Davis fan. But there is no denying that his kicking has been poor for years, and his commanding of the area leaves a lot to be desired. I am really looking forward to when Bart takes over though. Not because I don't rate Kelv but because I think Bart could be our number 1 for many years to come. To have 2 keepers as good as we do I think we are very lucky. Oops, not forgetting wonderboy Tommy Forecast.
  3. I've no idea personally, but if true I would say because Lallana is a much better player. For now.
  4. Lol, not for Daggers it doesn't I agree with you trousers, D&G did make a fight of it towards the end and if true about the freekick then they are unfortunate. But in reality, anything other than a Southampton victory today would have been an outrage. It really was all us.
  5. As for my ratings Davis 5 - Poor kicking throughout, should have come out for their goal. Still like him as a player just not great today IMO Dickson 7 - Very good going forward, solid defensively Fonte 8 - Didn't put a foot wrong Jaidi 7 - Won a lot in the air Butterfield 7 - Some very good forward passing and he read the game well Oxlade-Chambo 7 - Great forward running, sometimes took it a little too far but overall a good performance again Hammond 6 - Did well enough, one or two heavy touches though Chaplow 8 - Exactly the sort of player we need. Great buy Lallana 8 - Must keep. Lambert 6 - Might be a little harsh on Rickie to only get 6, especially as he set one up and scored one. Hmmm... yeah maybe he should have 7 Guly 9 - MOTM. Great tracking back, put in some strong challenges, ran the lines well and scored a very nice goal.
  6. Just got back after a fairly pleasant drive through London - something that happens once in a blue moon. Cracking atmosphere today, really enjoyable to be a part of. If we didn't win that game it would have been a travesty. We dominated from start to finish, except for 10 minutes maybe towards the end, well it wouldn't be Saints if we didn't look like we might throw it away would it? When Chamberlain went off we looked a little less threatening going forward, but Guly filled in his place very well and actually that's by far the best I've seen him play in a Saints shirt (I missed the Exeter game so not sure how his performance then compares to today). All three of our goals were brilliant finishes. Lallana on the 'half' over-head kick after a nice set up by Rickie Lambert, Guly's finish was just class, and I'm not sure how Lambert managed to get it up and over the keeper from such a tight angle for our third. If it hadn't gone in we would have been screaming for a penalty - definite hand ball from their defender, but thankfully that extra touch seemed to set Rickie up nicely. We looked solid at the back throughout, just a shame Davis doesn't command his box better otherwise I think we'd have a clean sheet. The ball was in the air so long he should have bloody collected it. Instead, he stayed on his line and they had a free header. Squeeky bum times at the end when their brilliant free kick hit the bar. The fella was already celebrating a goal, thankfully the lino and ref together gave nothing. Good result, good atmosphere, good all round really.
  7. Unbelievable. Like Bournemouth, I quite like Brighton. But both of their sets of fans attitudes are starting to change my feelings for them for the worse.
  8. I think you will quite easily get a ticket in the home end if you really want to go. Doubt you'll be the only Saint doing it.
  9. I wasn't at the game today but I already knew this was the case. This is Seabourne's biggest weakness in my opinion. He hoofs it way to regularly. Having said that I do like him and think he's probably number one choice to partner Fonte at the moment, despite Jaidi's good performances recently.
  10. Hole in the Wall anyone?
  11. Great idea for a thread. Dagenham definitely needs a build up. I'll bring my spade and a concrete mixer.
  12. Not sure why you'd want us wasting bandwidth and time by going on another thread to see the ratings. Would make much more sense to keep those and the poll to one thread; this one. Thanks for the comments guys, for those that can't make every game your opinions are very helpful. What a nice way to begin the year.
  13. His loan could be up anytime in January I suppose. But I reckon he'll sign/already has. Which is a terrible thing and Cortese must go NOW because Rory thinks Guly is sh*t.
  14. If you watch the interview you'll see there are definitely no problems there, you can tell by his facial expression, in fact he was smiling when he said that. He was angry because for the goal we completely left their man free, so I guess he felt the same as every other Saints fan in the stadium!
  15. Just seen this thread, wish I hadn't. Rory, oh dear oh dear. Hope you've got enough cash on you for the long taxi journey you need to take yourself. Just to echo what most people have said on here, his link up play, movement and passing is better than most in our side, but his finishing at the moment leaves a lot to be desired so is an easy target for the clueless minority. He played a big part in our win yesterday there is no doubt about that.
  16. The man is the only reason I go to St Mary's to be honest. I took little pleasure out of today's win. Not, not really. He's ****.
  17. That's a cracking few posts above mine there.
  18. For those saying guly was/is useless then please, please have a word with yourselves. Perhaps a trip to specsavers wouldn't be a waste of time either. Yes, his finishing wasn't good today and is not his best attribute, but his link up play is better than anyone else we have at the club. He set up chaplow and oxos goals and was part of that brilliant move in the first half where Lallana hit the bar. People just LOVE to hate someone, and it's a little sad really. Rant over, what a great game. :-)
  19. "We have good competition for places, and come the January period we will have a stronger squad to go and deal with the situations that will arise because of the fixture pile up." That's pretty conclusive. Signings!! Although we've bloody spent loads as it is, we should be strong enough already.
  20. Agree with this, including the part about the ****ing icon.
  21. I think it's more a case of bashing poor journalism. Getting all your stories from twitter or the BBC sport website is terribly lazy. Even I could do that, and I didn't spend 3 years at Uni learning about the bloody profession.
  22. Something like that yes.
  23. We're all missing that bit mate, until we read what he said.
  24. Let's hope so.
  25. Not at all. If it was anything negative Jordan Sibley wouldn't be advertising it on his twitter. It can be one of two things: Good news, or boring news IMO.
