  1. To drop Puncheon for Oxo now would be completely rash. Thankfully, Adkins in his interview after the Oldham game comfirmed he has no plans to do anything of the sort. He knows how to deal with a young player and that's by giving him these little cameo roles. Oh, and Puncheon is a pretty good player. When he plays well it has a big effect on the whole team, and he hasn't been bad this season, just a little inconsistent.
  2. Can't really tell from the angel of the cameras. They didn't complain much though.
  3. Brilliant news. Not the worlds best player but bloody good for this league and keeps the competition there in the centre.
  4. I think we absolutely can compare him to the likes of Bale and Walcott. Lallana, with a bit of training and guidance (just like GB and TW needed) will be a quality Premier League player. With the right manager I think he'll play for England one day, but from a selfish point of view I hope he delays that ambition until he gets into the Prem with us!
  5. I've met HH on a few occasions through my work and despite being a dirty, smelly, pikey Skate bastard he's actually quite a nice bloke. Doesn't mean we have to be nice in return though.
  6. To believe there is some sort of mystical, magical effect, brought on by some higher being that a manager always wins against us on his first game is fiction. To believe that it just happens because it happens is fact. It's happened so bloody often. But no kids, there is no god and there are no special beings with magic powers.
  7. His record here can't be argued with, good luck to him wherever he ends up.
  8. Maybe with other clubs it's not true, but not with us. We always lose when a new manager has been appointed, have done for years. I'm pleased for you that you've been able to block this from your memory, but most haven't! Let's hope it doesn't continue on Sat.
  9. It's only new for Rickie Lambbhuna to be honest, MS & JP's shooting has always been poor.
  10. No, it's because our players are always leaning back. Lambert, Morgan Schneeeebley, and Puncheon especially.
  11. He hasn't been a disappointment, he just can't get into the team. Whenever he's played he's performed well. I don't consider having good players as back up a negative thing, in fact, quite the opposite.
  12. Absolutely! Happy Birthday Matty edit: and on that note, surely we can find a better picture of him to use in the forum banner? One maybe where he's in his prime, celebrating maybe? This one doesn't do him justice.
  13. What a brilliant choice to have to make! We're very lucky to have two players of RC and MS's quality fighting for one position. I agree with everything you've said here. I voted for Hammond and Chaplow but it is harsh on Spiderman if he doesn't play.
  14. You're definitely underestimating AL in my opinion. Just a good footballer? He's more than that, the boy is class. His feet (both of them) are so quick and his close control is exceptional, oh and he scores regularly too. He'd walk into any NPC side, and wouldn't be far off one or two Prem sides.
  15. I heard the Lambert chant sung for the first time at Swindon away in the stand behind the goal. I even saw a song sheet being handed out. Whether you like them or not, they work.
  16. I'm fairly confident (based on nothing but my own suspicions) that Lallana will not only want what's best for himself, but also for Southampton FC. I get the impression that he loves it here. Growing up at a club and turning yourself into a first team regular must feel special so I'm sure he holds the club close to his heart. So I believe he'll sign a contract, even if it means him leaving at the end of this season.
  17. Lallana is without a doubt the most important player in this team. Lambert is great but doesn't have as big an impact as AL. Same as Fonte, same as Barnard, Harding etc. Bit early for player of the season though.
  18. Can you imagine the fans singing Scaffold's classic on the terraces? I genuinely think that would push attendances up, people would attend just for the comedy value of that chant. But on a serious note the ole ole ole ole gulllly gullly worked well.
  19. Oh and I've never seen the insult "div" used so much in one place. It's like being back in the school playground
  20. Is he still going even this morning? Christ this poster has issues. Either that or the schools are on holidays again. Relax Mr Turkish, Saints won 2-0 yesterday, the sun is shining, and you've achieved what you wanted by getting a reaction on an internet forum - impressive!
  21. What must he be thinking? "I'm too good for these guys."
  22. Do we still have some left over from the Cherries' visit last week?
  23. Re: the bit in bold. After seeing Gulys performance today it's clear what was happening in the Yeovil game as it says above. Guly loves to flick the ball on to a team mate first time, and today it worked so well especially in the first 20 minutes. All of our players were aware of his ability today and got into good positions around him. At Huish Park they obviously weren't prepared for it. He was MOTM today, shame he couldn't last the full 90.
  24. Lol at a bloke being an idiot for shouting "GO ON!" to players in the team he supports. Turkish you've always been a strange one on here.
  25. What a bloody great performance. Glad I made the journey for that. Guly wonderful, Puncheon class, special mention for Seabourne who didn't hoof it once and really impressed me, Fonte is too good for this league and Davis disgraceful - he didn't touch the ball once ( ) Can't really add much more to what others have posted really. Brilliant.
