We are the very definition of a team misfiring and in a bit of a slump. Pelle hasn't scored in the PL since 1st November. Mane hasn't scored for nearly 2 months. Long has got 1 goal in that time. J Rod misfired before getting injured. Still 12th though, so it's not all doom and gloom. But it's starting to look like a re-think up front is in need, our current 3 options just aren't doing it.

Totally agree. I used to go to the Dell all the time as a kid, I barely missed a game. Then, one game, a bunch of lads in the Milton end started a song I hadn't heard before. "My old man", they began... "said be a Pompey fan". I'll admit, I wondered where the song was going at this point, but I listened on in wonderment. Imagine my horror when I heard the next words spat forwards from their vulgar mouths. I can barely bring myself to type it out, such is the distress it still causes me to this day. "Eff of, balls, you're a c-word" is the nicest way I can put it. Terrible behaviour and I won't go back until the C U N T word, as you put it, is eradicated.

It's not just that they get so offended about a negative opinion. AdrianSFC in particular has always been a wet blanket shouting loudly about others ruining the forum by trolling or posting abuse. And here he is, with something he actually agrees with DellDays about, calling him a penis for saying it. Hypocritical little toad. But then that particular poster has always been an odious little weasle. Plenty of people going out of their way to defend dishing out insults for a perfectly valid point of view. I disagree with about as many things as I agree on with DellDays but he's spot on with his OP. The right back slot needs to be addressed, Yoshida IS a liability and will continue costing us points. He simply isn't a full back and never has been. The typical little insular clique can spit their dummies out all they like, but their dislike for Brett from Camden has clouded their judgement here.

Very odd behaviour as usual. That Always chap is also at his usual trick of failing to comment on anything football related and instead taking poorly-constructed potshots at anyone who dares to interrupt his own little picture of Saints and the forum. Agreed. I see this place hasn't changed where the usual delicate flowers get all riled up about any perceived criticism of the club/side. Yoshida shouldn't be anywhere near the right back spot. When he's keeping Cedric out there's clearly something wrong. Brett has come in for some unwarranted abuse this time.

Given how much grief Sturrock gets for his time with us, the results he achieved weren't actually terrible. 13 games in charge, 5 wins, 2 draws and 6 defeats; not great by any stretch but over the course of a season would comfortably see you mid table. And he was sacked following a win (against Blackburn). The real crime was replacing him with Steve f*cking Wigley, as clueless and inept a top level manager as there ever has been.

Who is saying anything "went wrong" with him. That's the standard and simplistric response to anyone who criticised him in any way at all for certain aspects of what he was doing and how he was doing. Personally I'm very glad he's not at SFC right now. He did a brilliant job with the team and building behind the scenes with the training ground. He also made some big errors with over-spending and his promises to have the club running on an even financial keel, which just wasn't going to happen. Being as Kat wasn't prepared to fund the financial shortfall any more some big changes were needed. The current team at the top have taken all the good things that were built up and they have continued/improved them further them, while they have also improved the club and operations in other areas. SFC feels more inclusive these days whereas Cortese made it feel like " his baby", his own personal fiefdom.

What used to be Chambers is now called Sadler's Brew House & Barbeque, I've only eaten there once but it was decent fare. Rockstone Burgers are pretty immense, to be fair. Or if you fancy something a bit different try Mexigo on London Road; you can eat in there and buy a beer to wash it down with. The pulled pork burrito is pretty lovely (and I still need to learn how they wrap the bloody things like they do).

I'd disagree with that part. For the second goal Vardy just smashed it; if the keeper stays on his feet he saves it. Kelvin seemed to just flop to the ground and get out of the way by doing it. Agree with that. Kelvin has been great for us, but he's not up to the task of the Premier League and shouldn't have been put in there. More fool Saints for not having an adequate replacement. And if Gazzaniga isn't that person he shouldn't be here.

You're only exposing your inability to understand the rules. The attacker must not make some attempt to do anything; the foul is judged by the challenge of the defender/keeper. If the attacker has to deviate from his course to the detriment of the attack then it is a foul/penalty. The rule has evolved in the past 5 years. Falcao definitely didn't help himself by going to ground too early. But just like Macmanaman against Targett, it should have been a penalty. The referee got it wrong, as he got loads wrong. The pucdits in the studio with the benefit of replay called it a penalty.

It was a penalty. Clearly. Falcao didn't help himself by going down slightly early but if he hadn't he would still have been cleaned out by the keeper. Which makes it a penalty under the current laws; it's not the laws from years ago, you don't have to be totally upended for it to be a justifiable penalty. If the attacker has to jump out of the way of a foul to not get struck but misses his opportunity to strike then its still a penalty.

That was the ultimate show that he was influenced by Chelsea and massively favoured them all day. They were wrong, the ball was positioned fine, but he had to appease them and made a massive thing of running over when he could have asked the linesman. Spineless.

Seriously, how flipping lazy are our fanbase? There's been multiple requests for a train platform by the stadium; there's already Southampton Central which is a short walk across town. Then you have Woolston, St Denys and Bitterne close by. F*ck it, when I'm a billionaire I'll make all you fat lazy f*ckers a monorail to get around on.

1) Extend the Kingland to make a 40K stadium and drop prices so we'd have a chance of actually filling it. 2) Buy the land opposite and build a collection of bars and restaurants on the waterfront. 3) Ban anyone from St. Mary's who turns up in face paint, jester hats, half and half scarves or football shirts over hoodies. 4) Put statues of MLT, Lawrie Mac and Terry Paine outside each stand and name the stands after them (with Ted making the 4). 5) Sort out the beer queues in the concourses with many more kiosks, beer backpacks, whatever. And sell decent booze.

And you're absolutely welcome to it, mush. But freedom also includes freedom of speech and expression, so don't be surprised that many outside your borders look in with increased amazement at the backwards nature of the culture there and make further comment on it. Having been to more than 40 of the states in America in my lifetime, I consider myself pretty experienced in the way of life of America and its citizens. And I'm still genuinely amazed at the level of vitriol and anger that many of the residents will retreat to when it's suggested that the love of guns that infects the country (and of course the amount of dim-witted imbeciles in charge of those guns) is the primary reason USA has such a tragically high death level from firearms. The "I want my grandmother to have a handgun to defend herself" argument is quite possibly the saddest yet most consistent line I've heard trotted out, yet it's one that gets laboured time and time and time again. On the flip side there are many Yanks I've met who aren't thick and ignorant, and who rightly agree that guns are massively out of control and need to start to be reigned in. Sadly those on the other side of the argument refuse to even budge on the fact that their arsenal of weapons is in any way unsafe. And so it will go on; simply too introverted, too ignorant and too resistant to change to realise the benefits of an alternate way of life. But yeah. In the mean time we'll stick with our version of pointing out the downright obvious, if that's alright with you guys of course

They actually do give penalties for intent, yes. If you have to hurdle a slide then it can be given as a foul. I've not seen it yet so I'll wait to comment. But your premise is wring, if the player has to significantly alter his course to avoid a tackle that doesn't play the ball, it's a foul.
