Nope, I don't think MOTD ignored the penalty. I think they covered it.
-
Hansen: "I'd just like to point out that a penalty was given in this match, and rightly so. But sometimes, in other games, they don't get given. And that's a shame". That would do it. Alan Hansen, pundit genius.

Which parts from the game do you think they missed?

Artur Boruc, you crazy tw4t. Absolutely senseless.

He also might have prompted others into donating themselves. I've got no problem at all with what Shaw did; I'm surprised so much is being made of it. Good lad.

Good lad Luke

"If Harry Redknapp’s side are promoted back to the Premier League this season then the fine will be levied in 2015. If they fail to make promotion, however, then the fine could be postponed but they would be hit with a transfer embargo." So, basically, the new rules still don't really do enough to deter mammoth over-spending. Getting into huge debt in an effort to get to the Premier League is still a gamble worth taking for the uber-rich.

Pretty much the opposite of spot on, really. Remind me where on the pitch Rickie was when he started the moves that led to both of Welbeck's goals against Moldova? If you can't remember: the first goal came from RL dropping off almost to the right hand side point of the pitch on the halfway line, and from there played a pass way over the top for Welbeck to run into the centre forward position and slot home. Second goal? Lambert was hugging the left touchline and again played the ball through for Welbeck to occupy the centre forward position. As for the continual "Woy" references

Lampard shouldn't be starting for England; and certainly not in the midfield two against such a high intensity side as Chile. But I can't think of any other old has beens from last night. As to the 100 cap brigade, the people we've seen of late reach that milestone have been David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard. If you're casting doubt on the validity of any of them reaching 100 caps on merit, then count me out of that one. Ashley Cole in particular has been amongst the best players in the world in his position for around 10 years now. Beckham is an English icon but was an extremely talented player worthy of his plaudits. Gerrard also was an outstanding player and even still deserves to be in the side on merit. And Lampard, who is starting to look past his best but who has scored 15+ goals per season from midfield in all but one of the last 10 domestic seasons. Aside from them, John Terry has retired from international football. So I'm rather confused as to whom you're referring to in any case.

While I hope you're right (and think he did enough tonight to warrant it) I'm not sure where Hodgson will see he fits in for England.

As it stands, do we have a better team than ENGLAND?
The Kraken replied to Glasgow_Saint's topic in The Saints
Pretty much agree with all this. Per man, Saints aren't the third best team in the Premier League. We aren't. Yet we're third on merit because our team deserve to be there, we work really hard, we have some supremely talentled players but we also back it up with hard work and great tactics by all of our players (and, indeed, the manager). Tonight, we had Lampard and Milner who f*cked about a bit in central midfield and allowed an energetic Chilean midfield to completely bully them. And a predictable display from England. Good tactics from Chile, lazy and ineffectual tactics from England (although, given the slow central midfield, we had only a few options). I hope that there is a sea of change into hoe football teams must play. "All action" was something that was once derided, but it has massively changed and has turned into something to behold, a game of hunting in packs when you don't have the ball and then keeping it. Its better on the eye watching Saints than it is England; England should be so much better, but Roy has only got old fashioned tactics and, IMO, we'll only be not quite good enough under his charge. -

Yes, I didn't realise I should have been perusing the whole of the internet when you said that. God forbid you should have to clarify you meant what you had seen on twitter and christ knows where else. My mistake.

Ah, I missed his post on here about that.

Erm one. You stated :"****ing pathetic anyone writing the lad's international career off at the age of 24" and found one quote on here to back thatt up. More fool you for falling back on the idiocy/lunacy of twitter to try to populate the Straw XI team on here.
-
1 person then; just. Well done; you found your straw man.
-
Who has done that then?
-
Wouldn't argue with that; he was pretty much unplayable for about a month. He's clearly got talent; no doubt about that. Just nowhere near consistent enough IMO. **** it; 2-0.

We were always that under Strachan.
