  1. I thought I was quite clear in saying that I'd heard he'd given up his contractual obligations of payment? That statement is actually quite clever in admitting nothing. In fact, it doesn't say that they've paid him off at all, does it? Can you explain your number, though please? I assume they you mean to point to a spot in the linked video but the one you link only goes to 4 minutes or so and your 39:25 means little to me. Ta.
  2. Considering he (allegedly) voluntarily walked away from his contractual entitlements (i.e. the rest of his term of contract) I'm a bit lost where you're going with this. Unless you're referring to his last month's pay, I guess. Which, according to Steve Grant, should be around £6K, before tax.
  3. I wouldn't laugh too much just yet. By some accounts, Corporal Clot gave up his contractual entitlements when he walked away. If true, a noble gesture. Credit where its due. there's plenty of other stuff to laugh about without making things up.
  4. So predictable, but the infighting has started already and is gaining pace. http://fansonline.net/portsmouth/mb/view.php?id=525038 They're arguing about a caretaker manager! Although the "jobs for the boys" accusation over there is certainly gaining some momentum.
  5. Seriously, get this book and read it. Google the reviews, it was released many years ago and is a worldwide hit. It is a fantastic book, it really is. It may work for you, it may not, but its a short book and won't take too much time if you are genuinely wishing to quit. It doesn't preach, and in fact it tells you not to quit smoking whilst reading it. But it completely and utterly changes the way you think about smoking, and makes you recognise smoking exactly for what it is rather than what you think it is. Even if it doesn't help you quit, it's a really interesting read.
  6. A radio station and some award winning catering must surely be next on the cards.
  7. Glad to see Steve Williams getting a few nods; he's still in my all time Saints XI (obviously only includes players I've actually seen play in the red and white).
  8. Pick five Saints players from years gone who you'd have in the side. Has to be 4-4-2 though.
  9. I was going to have Shearer instead of Lambert, but Lambert does the big number 9 job much better.
  10. Niemi for Boruc. Killer for Fonte. Rod Wallace for JRod. And Neal Heaney for JWP. That's my 4.
  11. That's the one; there's a thread on POL called "westwood" where that fella Stimmo airs his grievances. A similar one on TBA, too. Also, things are turning sour for "the new era of transparency". Sue Maskell, who has previously been a massive supporter of the PST (and a fairly public face/name throughout the PST's move into control), is apparently waking up to the fact that the PST have a slightly less open and transparent arrangement than was previously thought. She asked the following questions of the PST on POL a couple of months ago, none of which have seemingly been publicly answered in the same thread: Whoops.
  12. POL and fansonline have posts stating that he got in a huff and decided not to post on there any more. Oh, and that he banned a fan solely for comments made on twitter. #honeymoonperiodover
  13. Indeed, you're probably correct on that one. "Unprofessional" doesn't quite do it justice, it was unbelievably amateuresque and breathtakingly stupid.
  14. News from the other side. Rather hilariously, it would seem that PFC's Engagement Manager Micah Hall (the guy appointed solely to communicate with the fans following his massively public utterings online and publicised through the fans message boards) has apparently decided that he doesn't want to engage with the fans through the medium of online message boards any more. Which hasn't gone down brilliantly with the locals.
  15. While it was a bit of a freak goal it was still an avoidable error. The ball had flown the length of the pitch, yet Boruc was way out of his goal. Boruc is still far, far better than any other option we currently have, but the Stoke goal and yesterday's were two massive errors of judgement IMO.
  16. Saw enough in his reserve team games to suggest he would look suspect in the PL. He just looked really slow.

Are you that simple (and childish and boring) that you really need it pointing out?

True story. But also (and also not unlike Beattie in his pomp) Lukaku's second touch is, to be fair, absolutely deadly.

TBH I forgot where I was for a minute. Although I was confused a little, when Captain Contradictory said MOTD completely ignored the penalty. Guess he was wrong on that one. Again....

"and MOTD completely ignores the penalty" You didn't see the penalty on MOTD? Or any replays? Really? Gosh.

I have no idea Matty. But they covered the penalty.

Nope, I don't think MOTD ignored the penalty. I think they covered it.
