  1. Rational response: perhaps because exactly the same person was responsible for our early season crest, which had almost every single independent pundit purring about what a good side we are. A time when we beat the now league leaders at their place, amongst others. Sorry it seems so long ago.
  2. You can probably add Oxford to that list too, although they're seemingly back on the up. After spending 5 years in what is now League 2 they were relegated to the Conference, where they spent 4 years. 10 years after relegation to the 4th league division and it finally looks like they may be working their way back up, despite being one of if not the biggest side in the division they've played in.
  3. At 64 years old I reckon he's past his best, to be fair.
  4. What was the solution? What whizz of a plan would you have initiated instead?
  5. They're not good enough. But we don't have any genuine replacement options for them. Yoshida perhaps for Hooiveld, although his performance against Villa was error strewn. Fox and Gazza are the best options we have at the moment, which is a sad indictment but a necessary fact.
  6. One first team player in the entire back 5, and it showed. We have a weakness in reserve, but then everyone knew that. Fox and Hooiveld just aren't Premier League class, neither is Gazzaniga IMO. And we really shouldn't have lost today.
  7. The U21 thing though; that matters not a jot. There have been various players that have played for one country at U21 level only to represent another country at full international level. Kevin Prince-Boateng being one, playing for pretty much every German youth level before going off to play for Ghana at full level. Edited for horrendous spelling.
  8. I'm constantly amazed that there are still people who believe that nonsense of a tale.
  9. No, you were just wrong. As usual. On both counts.
  10. His name is Iain Moody, actually. And the young lad was never his replacement, despite what that BBC article says.
  11. They sacked him last month. He's now sporting director at Crystal Palace.
  12. The thing is, we all know that football is commercialised, and I can live with that to an extent. The last kit I bought was the sash shirt, and I still wear it for 5 a side, and will continue to do so. It probably cost £40 or £45, can't remember, but I didn't think twice about it. But when you get a pathetic lack of effort and utterly sh1te design for a home shirt, then it takes the p1ss a bit. I'm not one to ever wear a Saints shirt to a game, but I wouldn't dream of coughing up for that abomination just for a kick about. Grrr. Rant over.
  13. You sound surprised? Probably one of our worst kits ever.
  14. There's a rumour over on the UI that some are refusing to do the training he wants. Just a rumour, of course...
  15. He must have lashed an insane amount of money down the toilet with them. On the subject of Boro, I heard a funny tale about Alex Boksic. He was continually being played up front with Noel Whelan and got fed up with the gap in class. So one Monday, after a particularly abject display from Whelan over the weekend, Boksic marched into the club secretary's office. "How much does does Whelan get paid per week? And how long is left on his contract?" The secretary told him, and Boksic left. The next day he bowled into the office with a cheque, gave it to the secretary and said "There's Whelan's wages for the duration of his contract. Now tell him to f*ck off". Probably not true but humourous nonetheless.
  16. I think you're fighting a losing argument if you even for a minute want people to think that we have a unique, standout kit. Not only is it utterly sh*t, it's also bland and just like various others. It's also almost exactly like Bristol City, if you're going to make references to Stoke and Sunderland.
  17. ^^ Well that's a bit rubbish from Waterstones. As I understand it, the shops bought a batch of 1,000 on the back of SFC going back on their agreement to stock it in the club megastore. No idea what the situation is with online. Also, as I understand it, the authors make more money from it if its bought direct. Probably worth noting that if you send a PM to Fitzhugh Fella he'll ping you details of how you can get the book straight from them. Sorry John, I know that does you no favours! I hope the book comes through soon for you.
  18. Over water the channels, lump it out wide and swing it in for the big man. Proper football.
  19. I think how we're doing at the moment is summed up by the form table. I think how we're doing over the course of the season is summed up by the league table. In total, we're doing better than I thought we would at the start of the season. I hope that answers the question
  20. . .

  22. Now that...............THAT!! Comedy genius!! Yet again. A GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tell you. You should be on stage with humour like that.:lol::lol:
  23. I'll bump this again, and agree. Buy this book, Saints fans.
  24. Did you point this out when we were doing really well? Just asking. When we had 6 great results in a row, were you as outspoken in tempering expectations?
  25. Terry Hurlock. Fact.
