  1. I wasn't commenting on the quality of our squad, merely refuting the lunatic suggestion that none of our squad have been above where they are now.
  2. 🤣 Adam Lallana says hi. So do all of the players in our squad who have in previous season(s) played significant amounts of games in the Premier League and actually stayed up, which is a significant level above where we are now. There's quite a few of those players.
  3. The BBC should be facing an investigation just for putting that fucking programme on air in the first place.
  4. There's this remarkable thing called "Google", it lets you find out all sorts of things. https://www.gmp.police.uk/news/greater-manchester/news/news/2024/october/statement-on-manchester-airport-incident/
  5. To borrow Duckie’s favourite overused phrase……..new broom.
  6. There was immediate anger and despair from many senior Tories after the result was announced, with several predicting that neither of the final two candidates would actually contest a general election. “This almost certainly means we’re going to have to go through it all again this side of an election,” said a former cabinet minister. “There’s no way those two people – either of them – can reunite the party, let alone the country. It’s almost the worst possible outcome. “There’s always a chance that somebody can rise to the occasion and become a statesman when we least expect it. But in both these instances, these are people who have got flawed personalities. Kemi is divisive and aggressive and wrong about everything, and Jenrick is manipulative – and can be manipulated. They will be dancing on the fucking tables at Labour HQ.”
  7. Not sure about an argument Nick, i posted a factual graph of the exchange rate and how it has performed since election day, and over the past year. I’m no ForEx expert but I imagine it’s better to look at exchange rates over an extended period rather than days or weeks.
  8. Which is all well and good if you expect the Reform party to step down again and make way for the Tories. Personally I can’t see that dynamic happening again, given they’ve now got actual MPs. Chasing the right while also trying to regain the centre? Good luck.
  9. Well let’s have a look shall we. Looks to me that, since the election, the currency market has been rather volatile but the rate has levelled off just a smidge higher than it was on election day. Which itself was the highest it had been for around a year.
  10. Chasing the Reform vote worked so well last time.
  11. I thought his name was Nige. #confusedface
  12. At least one of them seems to have it bang on the money. “The sound you can hear in the background is the barrel being scraped,” they said. “We have a choice of an ECHR one-trick pony, who believes our special forces murder people, and an anti-woke one-trick pony who picks endless fights. As a choice, it’s shit.”
  13. This news comes to you courtesy of Nick who for so long has been tireless in his condemnation of all governments down the years, and has definitely not allowed his preferred politics an easy ride at any time, no sir. ”if I had no self awareness, I think I’d know”.
  14. Newsflash. Woman goes on holiday. Scandalous. Absolutely fucking desperate stuff 🤣
  15. He fed them well 👌
  16. Electronic Entry System (EES) November launch date likely to be delayed (again). https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/oct/09/plan-to-fingerprint-passengers-on-entry-to-eu-to-be-delayed-again
  17. Out of interest what level of “poor season” are you expecting this squad to have? Let’s not forget, the manager in charge is the one who has overseen this squad being put together, spending in the area of £200m doing so since he arrived here. As for the lack of naysayers, there were loads, it’s rubbish to suggest there weren’t. Certainly the pervading feeling was one of “great season, really enjoyed it, but if we don’t tighten up a lot at the back we’ll get mullered in the Premier League”.
  18. You have to say he’s done well in snagging Lara Lewington too.
  19. The last Tory membership vote gave us Truss as a PM, so I’m fully expecting them to stick to form and elect the worst candidate as their next leader. Trouble is I’m very much unsure which one that is. Honest Bob seems seems like a genuine sociopath and the dictionary definition of terrible Tory. Kemi is, unfortunately for her, only fractionally as clever as she thinks she is, and I’m not sure if continuing her tactic of inciting division is going to poll all that well outside of the true Tory blue bloods.
  20. Fucking hell
  21. I think we need to bring back little Nicola Cortese on a short term contract to pick our next manager. Say what you want about the man but he had a good eye for a manager: Alan Pardew - oversaw some great player recruitment and brought us some silverware. Nigel Adkins - double promotion and looked likely to comfortably keep us up in his first season in the PL. Mauricio Pochettino - 14th then 8th in the PL. Little Nic may have been given his P45 in Jan 2014 but it’s likely he had already identified Ronald Koeman as Poch’s successor late that summer, such was his footballing CEO vision. Get the wee man in on a short term contract and let him identify our next saviour.
  22. I think you’re being unfair. Under the Tories, Duckie was able to keep his rents really low because he liked his tenants. As soon as that new broom Kier got into power, all that changed immediately. Duck simply had to raise his prices because Labour something something . Nothing he could do about it really.
  23. Case was always going wasn’t he? On health grounds. He had significant time off due to his health when he was supposed to be giving evidence at the Covid enquiry, think that was nearly a year ago.
  24. Sounds like an even game….
  25. I see that rubbish Liam Delap has scored again, glad we didn’t sign him.
