I wonder if one of the nippers from the U21 could step up. Zach Awe, for instance. Let’s face it we’re likely not gonna sign a new CB who is ahead of Bednarek and THB. Jack Stephens is back in the mix, so he either usurps one of the current two or plays second fiddle (and being as he was nominated skipper I imagine Martin has a first team place for him identified). Anyone coming into the club therefore is likely to be 4th choice immediately; plus Shea Charles can fill in at CB in the short term (though I don’t think he was any good at all when he played there). Not exactly an enticing loan for either player or club as they’ll likely get minimal game time.

It’s a bit pathetic really. If this was a criminal trial they’d all be up before the judge for refusing to provide / deleting their messages. Let’s not forget that they previously put in a legal bid to stop them being compelled to hand over messages. And now they expect us to believe that a) they didn’t know / couldn’t remember that they were supposed to keep all their messages, and b) in any case those messages are long gone because I switched phones, honest I did. Everyone knows they’re lying, just the press can’t / won’t call them out on it.

Is this definite? It’s the right thing is so, iirc we’re paying around £35k a week in wages and, now Stephens is back, Holgate is probably 4th choice centre back. Everton get some of his wages paid but he’s not playing games or putting himself in the shop window so it’s not working out from their perspective.

🤣 Genuinely surprised at that comment tbf. He’s about the most pilloried player we’ve got (and not without substance).

Have another drink 👍

We could definitely do with scoring more but, to put it in context, we’re the 5th highest scorers in the league. It’s hardly atrocious. Our goals against is still pretty poor after the disastrous September but even that is much improved of late. I still think we’re a little below pre season expectations, but not by much. Leicester and Ipswich have turned it all upside down, they’ve both been incredible.

A good result for Southampton FC Women. Less of a good day for Southampton Women’s FC, who got pumped 6-1 by Watford in the same competition.

Danny Ings has got 18 months left on a contract that pays him around £120k per week. He is obviously well out of favour at West Ham (on the bench today, and Moyes was talking this week about trying to get a striker in) but I simply cannot see any way that Saints get near to being able to get him, even on loan for a few months. Just completely unrealistic imo.

Agree to disagree I think. The first one I still think was a very good save, low down and right in the corner. The goal was an absolute howler though. Still not sure how it went in.

That’s quite a bold statement.

His save in the first half, low down to turn it around the post; I wouldn’t consider that routine, I’d say that was an excellent save. His flap at the goal conceded was indeed terrible. Awful.
-
He has a habit of doing that tbf.

I thought Carragher was talking shite, and also seemingly some bias in it as he kept saying he thought it was similar to the one given against Liverpool today.
-
Batshit. He wants to drop AA, the league’s second top scorer who also has 5 assists (including 1 today). I think the mad one has got hold of the Wayman account again 😬

Is it amazing? Really? Goalkeepers at any club all over the world have their errors highlighted more than any other position on the pitch. Because they are the last custodian of the goal. So many keepers through history have been critiqued at the highest level because they can make great saves but are also prone to basic errors. This has been happening for decades, I’m amazed you find it amazing.
-
Definitely, and he absolutely looked like he knew it. A shame as he made one exceptional save and had a number of other good moments. But he had a proper flap in the first half that, while it was called offside, didn’t inspire confidence. Awesome with his feet and doing the sweeper keeper thing, his distribution was very impressive. But he’s just far too prone to a brain fart like at the end, that was a rank bad shot to let in.

Yeah I probably agree with you, strong team and decent squad depth.

If Leicester and Ipswich keep up their form over a whole season they’d have 113 points and 110 points respectively. Both would smash the previous all time record of 106, which has stood for nearly 20 years. Fair play if they can keep it up but I’m expecting at least one of them to flat line a little bit and drop points. Ipswich from the outside seem the most likely, and while there’s no signs of it so far, the championship is a long tough division.

Don’t think we did anywhere near enough today to think “we was robbed”. Very annoying to lose the points due to defender and goalkeeper basic cock ups, mind, but meh. We weren’t ever really all that comfortable all day and just didn’t do enough from an attacking pov to think we’d get that second goal. A point is a point.

As Hammond rightly said on comms…..two errors there, the defender and goalkeeper.
-
Who is we? I am. Dean Hammond on comms is. Bazunu himself looked like he thought he’d fucked it. You do what you want though.
-
After all that Baz has a blunder.
-
Leicester 4-0 and thoroughly on course to break Reading supporters’ hearts by smashing their precious 106 record.
-
Nice of their keeper to dive out of the way of Che’s shot!

We must be watching a different game, in my one Charles is having a stinker. KWP is not getting much support going forward but when he does it’s the only time we look threatening.
