This has got all the hallmarks of a 0-1. Two very average teams. And as I say that Bazunu keeps a good one out, Shute defending down the left side.
-
As if we’ll keep a clean sheet 🤣 #reversejinx

The best part of the game is listening to Deano ‘ammond. Loving his use of ‘Savaampton’.

This is utterly shit so far.

Poor finish from Sulemana, but that’s more of what we need to see. I think Saints can be a bit too predictable, would much prefer our front three to switch positions an awful lot more than they do. Like a low rent Liverpool when they had Mane, Firmino and Salah who had defined starting positions but realistically could pop up anywhere across the front line. Sulemana most often seems to just hold down the left when I’ve watched him.

This camera angle seems much worse than usual, very far out.

Well said 🤣

It’s only effective if you’ve got a big enough willy that it looks impressive waving it about. Titchy is likely hung like a church mouse and has just made himself look like the prefect taking his ball home because literally everyone else is better at football than him. Fuck me, even the Tory front bench were laughing at some of Starmer’s quips about him today. An absolute lame duck of a prime minister. He lost to Liz fucking Truss, for goodness sake.

Just watching Fulham v Wolves. Wolves have been absolutely robbed, two VAR penalties where there was barely any contact. VAR continuing to be a complete and utter farce.
-
Just completely unnecessary. Everyone who has played football at any level knows that that was a very difficult shot executed with excellent technique. Yet we have “according to XG a professional footballer will score that goal one time in every twelve attempts”. Just fuck off.

Originality should maybe be discouraged, allowed to run free we end up with “he’s the Kenyan, the mighty Kenyan”
-
🤣 I did think “WTF” when that got read out.

What’s the enquiry? “Is he still as shite as ever or has he got any better?”
-
It’s always fun when the misguided weapon thinks he’s got himself a gotcha moment.

Let’s have a look at it. 1) The ball comes in. Dozy has literally jogged across from helping out Manning and has put in a token effort at best to stop the cross. Bednarek looks like he’s in a reasonable position, all strikers are marked and Bednarek is cutting out the short ball in. 2) Bednarek has just realised he’s not getting his head to the ball. THB still just about goal side of the striker. Bazunu just taking a step back before he sets himself. 3) Ball has gone over everyone and is headed for the goal on the bounce. 4) This angle shows just how much the ball has curled before going in almost off the post. Bazunu is in a decent position but can’t commit until late and then just can’t get there.

An absolute Bad Wolf of a statement right there.

Dunno, I think it’s harsh to blame him for that one. Good ball in, keeper not certain whether the striker will get there so can’t commit either way, and it went in the corner. The keeper always looks dopey when they go in, maybe he could have anticipated better, but personally I’d give Baz a pass on this one. The cross should never have come in in the first place, Manning and Dozy just ambling about putting zero pressure on the crosser, utterly shite defending from a team up against it. I particularly enjoyed Baz sweeping when Huddersfield broke away right at the end; watching on telly I was just “oh fuuuuck” as their striker ran through then Baz suddenly appeared in shot with a crunching clearance.

In another example of Saints’ originality it’s just a copy of the one Man City have started singing this season. “Old Trafford is falling down, Ten Haag is a fucking clown, Glazers here for ten more years, Man City are on the beers”.

27 goals conceded from 17 games. Two clean sheets. Only 5 teams in the division have let in more goals than us.

He was stretchered off while on the oxygen. It certainly sounds very bad.

Russ Martin confirming what we all knew. Speaking after the match, Martin said: "I thought we were really brilliant in the first half and should have scored more goals but the difference in the second half was too big. "We have a bit of a problem at 1-0 up, at the minute. Everything we spoke about in the break, the opposite happened really. "We wanted to be relentless with energy and move the ball quickly to make them work but there was nowhere near enough energy or intensity. "We gave them more and more belief as the game wore on and we got a bit looser. We looked a bit more tired, which is interesting," he continued. "Maybe it's due to having a lot of players go away on international duty and maybe we need to look into that but there are no excuses, we should win the game. "The goal was coming. I am frustrated as it's an opportunity missed, and it's always hard away from home in the Championship, but the game was there for us." "We had some really good moves and their keeper has made some good saves but we allowed the atmosphere to shift and we became less brave." Asked what was said at half-time, Martin responded: "We made some tactical tweaks to have some more joy but we didn't do them. "It was just about trying to be relentless but we forced it too many times. We didn't need to force anything today. The game was coming to us when we moved it relentlessly. "It's really similar to the Rotherham game so maybe the players felt this is nice, this is easy - but it is never easy. "After a 15-minute break, the players can come out with a bit more energy so our mentality has cost us two points. "I have told the players that as I'm really angry about it and we need to make sure we are better than that on Wednesday."

Even Franny on commentary sounded frustrated by it; he rarely has too much negative to say but he made reference to it a few times and how ponderous we were.
-
Someone said on here it looks serious, possible ACL.

This is true. However, in this game, Huddersfield’s good spell lasted for pretty much all of the second half. Up to half time is was a very controlled performance, then the second half was completely night and day.

He loves a straw man, bless him. Trying a bit too hard for this one though.
