This is the bit that really concerns me about him, it’s like he’s playing a game of how close can he let the attacker get to the ball before he passes it. Hes not good enough to take the risks that he takes.

From Martin’s press conference above he said Rothwell will be playing against Watford. Definitely looked rusty so game time will do him good.

Jack Stephens plays like our defence did right at the start of the season. Just tries to be too clever on the ball, playing silly balls or holding on to the pass for too long. And out of possession he’s not sharp enough to give confidence that he’ll win it back. In hindsight, good for him to get 30 minutes of game time and plenty of things to work on. But it was hardly a confidence inspiring shift and we looked a bit lost when THB went off. Stephens is doing nothing to warrant a starting place and, having made him skipper, Martin has boxed himself in a bit. THB and Janny B for the foreseeable please.

Ta, thought it was something like that but couldn’t put it together.

Trying to work out what the saints fans were singing for the last 5 minutes?

Really quite shocking at the back!

Hot knife through butter, terrible defending.

Because you’re a Saints fan.

Excellent first half. Our defence shows that they can be brittle, for their goal Swansea had a 3 on 2 on the counter. But you can criticise the overall performance, totally dominant, gave away a crap goal then went up the other end and made amends.

Watching the replay Armstrong should do better with his finish.

Should be two there, well done keeper.

This explains a lot.

In English?

Neither, I’d have thought. Just an agreement in principle is my guess, we’ve agreed a deal for the season. We don’t want him, Everton definitely don’t want him, this seems like a compromise agreement that hit the skids.

Dirk and grumpy will get their life’s work though. So small wins 👍 like you say, I personally don’t think it’ll make too much difference but if it gets through then it’s a massive win for them so we can get beyond that at least.

Yeah, about that......

This has been done before. Brighton give the away fans an end behind the goal. Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool all have ends that in the stand behind a goal ( but due to stadium size the away fans contingent doesn’t encroach so far along the end towards the goal as is prevalent at St Mary’s). Aston Villa always used to be behind the goal, opposite end of the ground to the Holte End. Fulham do pretty much exactly what we do at CC. Those are just off the top of my head, the idea that Saints are the only club that have seating arrangements like ours is daft. The issue is not the club, it’s that the saints fan chose to make the Northam the main singing end. If a big home Northam end comes about then great, I’m sure it’ll be alright. I don’t think it’ll be the hallelujah moment some seem to think it will be though. And in any case, the Dell always had distinct areas of the ground where the singes were, it was never all concentrated in one place. The Milton started as the main, under the east was lively, but towards the end of the Dell time the Archers was probably the main singing end.

Couple it with a football shirt worn over a hoodie and you're all the way there.

The bill also provides for Rwanda to send refugees to the UK. Given the minuscule number of people that the scheme might send their way it’s much more of an exchange programme than anything else. And it’ll surely get kicked back by the HoL. It’s just a distraction policy to keep attention away from other total failures. (Especially their disastrous “legal immigration” system). Oh, and 30p Lee is a genuine knuckle dragging moron, fuck him and his “principles”.

Dyche doesn’t want him back there, it was reported in autumn that Dyche told Holgate he wasn’t part of his plans (direct quote from Holgate) and Everton are fucked for money so probably need us to supplement the wage of a player who clearly isn’t going to get any game time for them.

Apparently Spurs have got a £30M buyback clause. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11016531/Tottenham-30m-buyback-clause-Southampton-Kyle-Walker-Peters.html I love KWP but I can’t see any PL club offering more than £15m -£20M for him, which would surely be a price that would be rejected in the Jan window. Come the summer he’s only got a year left on his contract so a bit of a different story then.
