  1. Can’t disagree with the first one but you must have a whole lot of hate going on for so many clubs based on those prerequisites.
  2. I wouldn’t say it was a “great” job tbf. And I’m not being critical of Bazunu either, i think he did ok in the situation. Watch it back on the video and Bazunu has a really good starting position, he’s almost on the edge of the area doing the sweeper keeper thing. When I first saw I thought he was a bit reckless diving in as he did, but I also praise him for that dive being well controlled so as not to clean out the attacker. It worked out ok, no error as I see it, but also not great in the same breath in that the situation played out to his fortune. If the striker had not gone looking for the dive and just knocked it past, it’s a different story and no-one has any idea how it turns out (I’ve seen comments on here saying it’s an easy goal but I disagree with that, although it definitely would’ve given a genuine chance). Anyway, no harm no foul, it came to nothing. Tge major fault lies with the striker who tried to cheat his way to a penalty.
  3. Chelsea just don’t look like a team. Loads of expensive additions, massive overspending in what they’ve got, yet it just all looks so disjointed. They’ll get better, they must do, but that was such a limp performance.
  4. Would be a big blow to lose him. Especially if we lose Sulemana as well. Need to replace both of them with some absolute quality.
  5. Of course they should have. It doesn’t mean they’re just going to write the money off as a bad decision though.
  6. I like the line “Whether or not this move happens, or if it is just a story aiming to see Southampton drop their valuation of Adams is yet to be seen.” Lads, ffs, just read the Liverpool Echo to see what happened with your city rivals consistently under-bidding for Lavia and maybe put 2 and 2 together?
  7. We’ll see. At best, from this point onwards I think we’ll break even on transfers in and out, and imo that in itself would be a decent result. And I don’t think we’ve yet explored the loan market as much as we could; Burnley last season had 4 players on loan who played 30+ games for them (Tella, Harwood Bellis, Matsson, Beyer) so it’s obviously a decent market to explore.
  8. It is but he’s said it’s not a club connection, it’s his Dads name.
  9. Apart from his corner for the goal he’s been pretty anonymous.
  10. I’m not talking about the money in already. I’m talking about further sales.
  11. As they rightly should, they spent a bloody fortune in the past two windows. We also must still have an enormous and unsustainable wage bill that won’t have been fully addressed by the reported wage drops incurred. We do need to spend some money on new players, no doubt. But it’s been mooted several times that it’s likely to be practically it’s one in one out from here, and I reckon we won’t spend anywhere near as much on players in as those they’re replacing.
  12. It’s a facial injury, he got a whack on the cheek and had a bit of a shiner. Shouldn’t have thought it’ll keep him out for all that long, if at all.
  13. It’s at 4.50 on this video. The striker could have scored but he touched the ball quite hard past Bazunu so I think he’d have been shooting from a pretty tight angle. I wouldn’t at all say he would’ve definitely scored but he’d have had a reasonable chance either to shoot from a tight angle or control it and either bring it back to shoot or play in an onrushing midfielder (though Saints also had two or three others charging back to cover in addition to the central defenders). I thought it was rash from Bazunu to commit so much for it but fair play, he controlled his dive and it absolutely was not a foul imo.
  14. They had to get a fan out of the ground the run the line 🤣
  15. He’s only recently turned 18, and he’s had a few niggling injuries lately. People need to calm down on him.
  16. He’s got a brother? Sign him up.
  17. Backed up I guess by Rodrigo, signed in 2020 for £27m but had a clause in his contract allowing him to leave for £3m.
  18. Yeah he could be to be fair actually.
  19. If anything I think it’s a little bit of a dramatic article and kind of gives the idea that we haven’t done much business incoming. As I see it: Tino out; Manning in. Not like for like but balances us up at 2RB and 2LB. DCC out; Stephens in. Diallo, Lavia, JWP out; Smallbone, Charles, Downes (hopefully) in. Elyounoussi, Walcott out; Tella, Sam A-A in. Pruned with no replacement: Salisu, Orsic. As long as any more outgoings have a replacement incoming (which I think they mostly will, though I see the squad size still coming down by 1 or 2 more) then I’m alright with what we’ve done so far.
  20. Agreed. There’s always going to be a drop in quality but I think our replacements for everything bar CB has been good for this level, especially when you take into account the reintegration of Tella and Smallbone.
  21. You obviously don’t watch us much to be confident in that 😉
  22. As has been said, the squad has been trimmed to a certain extent. From here I reckon we’re basically at a 1 in 1 out scenario. And, to be honest, with the exception of losing Salisu and DCC with none incoming, most of our major outgoings have seen a replacement in any case.
  23. Hands up, seems like I misread the meaning of your post. Looks like I mistakenly read your comment of “it is quite unusual to predict the volume of bodies out the door.” as it being difficult to predict; seems I got that wrong so hands up. I was just saying that, while it may be unprecedented in numbers in/out, it was kind of predicted on here that it would happen, and it pretty much had/has to happen.
  24. I disagree, I don’t think it is anything other than was predicted on here when last season ended. I’m not going to bother myself going back and looking at the threads back then but I know what I myself and others posted at the time; and it was that it was quite well expected that there would be a huge turnover of players in and out, and it was pretty much accepted that we would lose more than we would sign as the old squad was very bloated due to a catastrophic transfer policy last summer and January.
  25. Check out fucking Nostradamus over here. Fair play for working that one out mate, spotters badge for you.
