Literally nobody said that Lavia was bought to be the only DM. But he was very clearly identified as our primary starting CM that season, right from the very first pre season games the intention was clear that this lad was deemed something special. Then all through pre season and then the league in August, he was absolutely front and centre. I remember watching the pre season games and commenting on here that I was surprised how Romeu wasn’t getting much action and Lavia seemed to be being favoured. It’s a complete and utter fabrication to suggest, what was it you said? Ah yes, “Lavia was signed to start the season as Romeu's backup/apprentice before taking over around mid-season”. He didn’t start as backup to anybody, right from the very first pre season game he was massively prominent, then he started literally every single league game until Romeu left the club. SFC also signed Maitland-Niles, a terrible signing but quite clearly the intention was he’d be the support act in CM to Lavia’s main role.

In that PL season he started all of our games in August; so right from the first game he was pitched into a starting first team role. Romeu started just one game in August and was on the bench in three more before his move to Girona was agreed.

That’s quite frankly an awful admission. You didn’t care about racism when you were either in your late teens or even worse in your twenties? Genuinely amazed anyone would own up to that, what a horrible outlook you must have had.

Gave this a watch over the past week, got two episodes in. Not a big fan of Ckarkson in general but he’s an interesting man and it seems to be a very good show, some genuine laugh out loud moments (even some which are as scripted as some of the old Top Gear gags).

It was a little bit unlucky that there were 4 sides gunning for it. But as we’ve posted on this and other threads, and looking at the other points totals of recent years, 87 points fails to get you automatic Championship promotion in 9 of the past 10 years.

Its been an utter kicking of a weekend, yesterday they had one or two tiny little consolations to cling to (Teeside, where Tiny got in his jet again to fly up there and get his little face into the pictures). Today they’ve been utterly booted into the gutter. The public have spoken.

Yeah on paper I think I prefer the Norwich draw. But it’s the playoffs, anything can happen. I would neither be surprised if we won the whole thing or if we crashed out in the semis. 4 decent teams at this level going at it.

Not this again You need to look at what a normal team would score to finish second. Then you need to score more points than that. Then you’ll finish…….second. if you look at scoring more than the team who finish third, you’ll probably arrive at a total that will guarantee you’ll finish third.

4th being so high is certainly quite an oddity. But I’ve just surprised myself somewhat by looking at the tables for the past 10 years and what you need for automatic promotion. 101 91 80 90 88 82 97 91 87 93 83 81 94 89 83 99 90 88 94 93 85 93 89 89 90 89 86 102 93 85 So, even with their points tally, Leeds would have missed out on automatic promotion in 4 of the last 10 years. 6 they would’ve gone up, 1 of those on GD. So it’s a bit harder to get automatic than maybe I’d previously thought, you’re really looking at 94 to guarantee going up, maybe 93 with good GD. Roughly speaking anyway.

Its a madness of a league this season.
