The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

Even that utter prat Mogg looked shell shocked by her (thoroughly sensible and measured) response. No surprise that Rishi the weakling has bottled out of a vote and expressing his opinion. Absolutely spineless. Even Penny the diving wardrobe has come out in support of the report’s findings. -
Do any players wear long sleeves these days?! They must be a rarity, they seem to go with short sleeves for the main shirt and a similarly coloured long-sleeved undershirt. Also no one seems to tuck themselves in these days……🙄

As for the alternative sponsor……think I’m right in saying that kids’ shirts aren’t allowed to have gambling ads on them (last season was utilita or something) so they’ll likely have the alternative too. Should’ve got Draper Tools onboard for some proper retro. Gambling sponsors should be outlawed imo just like ciggies were decades ago. But that’s another whinge altogether.

We’re basically having a second year in a row of “experimental” which seems to be your main problem. Prior to that in recent seasons we’ve alternated year by year. Seems like you’d have been happy with this kit if it was next year and there was a season of stripes in between? For me it doesn’t matter, the 80s we’re almost exclusively non stripes and as long as the kit is red and white, has a nod to our history (which stripes, sash, xerox, halves, quarters etc all do), and it’s not utterly shit, then it’s alright with me. Bayern Munich are another huge side who have changed their home kit loads: plain red, red and blue stripes, red and white stripes amongst them. So Barca aren’t an exception, I’m sure there’s plenty who mix it up.
-
And for those saying “other big clubs don’t do this type of thing with their shirts”, have a look at what Barcelona have done over the past 40 years. One of, if not the most iconic club in the world. A history of stripes, halves, inverse Ajax, almost plain, even hoops. I wonder if their forum has this much squinnying about a lack of tradition because they don’t have standard stripes in any particular year.

I like the kit. The sponsor looks a bit naff but then all sponsors do these days (clubs should sell unsponsored shirts, they seem to do this abroad). Overall it’s a good nod to the old 87-89 kit. We’ll done Saints and Hummel, decent choice. I thought last season’s home top was awful, but when we wore at (I think) Chelsea and donned it with white shorts and black socks it looked absolutely great. Should’ve done that all season, I think it would be remembered in a better light.

Well this is slightly curious as I’ve just done a password reset on sotonians and found my old logon and posts. I posted much more than I thought, 31 posts between June and August 2015 (none of them interesting of course). The curious thing is that I’ve scan read them all and I can’t see a single reference I have made to sadoldgit or similar. Which historical thread that you were perusing was it that I made this remark to you? Like I say, I only had 31 posts so it should be easy for me to find, and if I did so I’ll certainly apologise for my earlier statement being wrong if it’s the case. -
Fair play to him, I’ve been following the story for a bit now. A brilliant effort and great thing to do to raise awareness for what is a terrible disease. Well done to him and the rest of his team that did it (I believe a relay team of 6 including the young girl’s dad), hats off indeed. I’ve just pinged them some cash as they’re only a tiny bit off their target (over a million raised so far). If you want to, the link is below. https://donate.giveasyoulive.com/fundraising/debraswim

No, I never used to have a pop at you on there. If it’s pap’s place I signed up many years ago but not sure if I even ever made a post on there, so let’s not start pretending about things. Besides, I love your posts Soggy, they provide much mirth. -

I preferred “hopefully this is a very short lived comeback”. 🤣 -

Can, but won’t. Far too obsessed with Johnson. Sog has started posted again on another saints forum just recently after a few months off due to, I quote “I became fed up with the abuse”. Funny that. And his first thread started is about………Boris Johnson! Kind of need a real life Boris ignore button for SoG. Though he’d only turn it off. -

Literally nobody is forcing you read anything about him. I know self restraint and ignoring things is a bit of alien concept to you, but give it a go. -
Man of the match according to who? Sky ratings gave him a 6 and the highlights didn’t show him doing much outstanding.

That’s just an administrative tool used as you can’t technically resign as an MP, some silly old rule and procedure. -
Probably the trees on it, I’d have thought.

Interesting. Not sure how a red sponsor on a Denmark kit can work but we’ll see. Hope the sponsors are done better than in the mock up, no need for the inside to be a whole solid block.

In his playing time the fittest man in the world too. He was quite something. Edit: not just the fittest man in the world, he was the fittest man in history. Legend.

Nathan Jones currently sat there all 😎 thinking “I’m the man who stopped Man City doing the quadruple”.

The same Jake Berry whose ex wife worked for Boris Johnson for a number of years and has kids who extremely coincidentally look like this. -
It’s also not even true. Che Adams at least at times looked a genuine threat and sometimes gave defences problems, plus chipped in with a goal or two. Tall Paul just sweated a lot, looked constantly fucked and generally just looked totally out of his depth.

It’s a stitch up mate. 99% of Joe Public think so, right, and no presentation of the facts is going to get in the way. Don’t know what the Privileges Committee is, but it’s definitely a stitch up. -

🤣 oh dear me. The ‘investigation’ is the privileges committee, which has a majority of Tory MPs on it. Any decision they make regarding censure for Johnson the; has to be ratified and agreed by all MPs, so if they wanted to the Conservative Party could just vote it down what with their 66 seat majority in the HoC. But yeah, it’s a right old stitch up otherwise, are Boris done nuffink rong. -

His dad was allegedly one of them, a man almost as odious as his son.
