Love the look of the kit.

My word, the lack of self reflection is off the scale 🤣

I’ve never watched it and likely never will, I can only imagine it’ll be as bad as I think it is given the absolute shower of cunts that they employ to present on it.

What are you on about , she’s a stunner. Just wondering if after the photo she got it out and gave it a full willy windmill as a celebration.

The thing is, last pre-season is massively different to this pre-season. Last time round we had a known manager who had been with us for a few years and who had just overseen a shockingly shit run in to the previous season, 5 points from 12 games. It was obvious there were problems with the coaching team as some had been binned off and Ralph had been forced to hire Selles. And we started playing a completely different formation to Ralph’s 4-2-2-2, we went with 5 at the back and it genuinely looked dreadful. The whole pre-season looked off from the start, it was quite clear early on that we were up against it. This pre-season sees a new manager who has a massively bloated squad, many of whose will likely leave the club. He’s had two weeks here. And he’s played a bunch of teenagers who have barely seen the first team before today. I’m only talking for myself, but I’m going to be a bit more patient than I would have been at this stage last season, as it’s not a fair comparison.

Exactly this. Same for ‘oover, and Kelvin. Very good in tge league below, not quite good enough for premier league.

A left back with 11 assists in our promotion season isn’t that good going forward? Ok. Tough benchmark. Or shit memory. One of the two.

Rumours I’m reading are it’s not a girl at all…….

That’s quite a male dominated opinion. Which is the much, much easier side of the fence to sit on. Males aren’t really at threat from any of this. That said, male opinion is the whole potential problem here. It’s not for men, or transitioning/transitioned men, to dictate how women should feel in women-only safe spaces. There’s already been some examples of males falsely playing the trans card to quite horrible consequences in Scottish women’s prisons. It’s a system that’s open to abuse, and your simple male solution is “I don’t have a problem with it”. It’s not for men to decide what the problem is, it’s for biological women. For men, this is quite a simple remedy. For women there kind of absolutely isn’t and there’s an entire rabbit hole to go down whereby this type of things affects much more than toilets: towards the top end, women only rape and crisis centres, and trans women who are actually sexual predators occupying women’s safe spaces , plus many many others. The system as it is entirely ripe for abuse and evidence over the past year or two which shows us that biological males are already indeed exploiting it. It’s not for men to say what is and should be safe, it’s for women for tell us how they feel vulnerable. As a bloke I don’t see I should have much opinion on this subject other than to thoroughly listen to the fears of women and go from there. Saying “I don’t have a problem with it” or “there’s more things to worry about kind of misses the point. And it’s an extremely complicated area to cover that isn’t going to be done by offering one or two sentence answers.

I’m with you, I like Lisa Nandy. She speaks well and seems pretty switched on, she’s passionate about what she does and she seems to have a relatively decent moral compass. As for Ange, I think she’s great, she’s not the most eloquent but I think she’s brighter than most give her credit for. Cracking chest rascals too.

I think he’s worth a bit more than that…. 😉

To this day I don’t think MLT has come close to admitting that he got duped by an imposter. In his book, which was written a very short time after the Fialka calamity, MLT said something like “our consortium got close but in the end we couldn’t quite get it over the line”. I’ve not seen any sort of mea culpa from him since, just more hinting that it was close to a deal but just couldn’t quite get it done. A thoroughly bizarre episode in the club’s history.

The Daily Mail really have gone all in with the sinking ship that is the Tory party. Its utterly bizarre to most normal folk, but I guess the blue rinse brigade that read it are either happy to be gaslighted or are just too plain dense to realise. -
Yeah but there’s rumours doing the rounds.

SoG has made his claim. I’ve looked through my post history on that site (31 posts) and I can’t find any evidence of interacting with him at all, let alone to tell him what a prat he is. I guess the gif below applies to one of us. -
There’s a list of all the names in there 🤣 (It’s Graham’s brother Steve). MLG edit. Yes, I know they’re not related……

Definitely the best kit ever. I love the black socks though, while not the “traditional” saints thing it just absolutely worked here. Love love love that kit (and the Liverpool 4-1 that it oversaw).

100% agree with the first para. The second, kind of agree though the shots released so far aren’t overly clear. But yes, they do seem a bit baggier than usual.

No idea, I was only staring at her tits. (I only read about it on the beeb catch up, they had a vid of the haunted pencil being put back in his box but no visuals of pompey’s finest). -

Even that utter prat Mogg looked shell shocked by her (thoroughly sensible and measured) response. No surprise that Rishi the weakling has bottled out of a vote and expressing his opinion. Absolutely spineless. Even Penny the diving wardrobe has come out in support of the report’s findings. -
Do any players wear long sleeves these days?! They must be a rarity, they seem to go with short sleeves for the main shirt and a similarly coloured long-sleeved undershirt. Also no one seems to tuck themselves in these days……🙄

As for the alternative sponsor……think I’m right in saying that kids’ shirts aren’t allowed to have gambling ads on them (last season was utilita or something) so they’ll likely have the alternative too. Should’ve got Draper Tools onboard for some proper retro. Gambling sponsors should be outlawed imo just like ciggies were decades ago. But that’s another whinge altogether.

We’re basically having a second year in a row of “experimental” which seems to be your main problem. Prior to that in recent seasons we’ve alternated year by year. Seems like you’d have been happy with this kit if it was next year and there was a season of stripes in between? For me it doesn’t matter, the 80s we’re almost exclusively non stripes and as long as the kit is red and white, has a nod to our history (which stripes, sash, xerox, halves, quarters etc all do), and it’s not utterly shit, then it’s alright with me. Bayern Munich are another huge side who have changed their home kit loads: plain red, red and blue stripes, red and white stripes amongst them. So Barca aren’t an exception, I’m sure there’s plenty who mix it up.
-
And for those saying “other big clubs don’t do this type of thing with their shirts”, have a look at what Barcelona have done over the past 40 years. One of, if not the most iconic club in the world. A history of stripes, halves, inverse Ajax, almost plain, even hoops. I wonder if their forum has this much squinnying about a lack of tradition because they don’t have standard stripes in any particular year.
