  1. Statistics don’t mean anything Barry, apparently. I’ve written scientific papers on it. Or something.
  2. Yeah, that’s definitely about right. Makes perfect sense as usual 👍
  3. If anyone thinks that they’re misguided. He was a big contributory factor but he was far from on his own. Same this season, he’s been disappointing yet again but just one of a too big number.
  4. Fair play, you’re almost as good at providing straw man arguments as that Crap Wolf guy. Not quite, granted, but you’re getting there. When there are negative comments made about Bazun or quite frankly any other player, it doesn’t mean people think they are literally the only player at fault. It’s typically one of a number of players that contribute to our goals against. Nobody is saying it’s all Bazunu’s fault or that our defence/midfield/attack is otherwise ok. I feel I’ve wasted my time even pointing that out Ffs.
  5. Tbf there’s not a lot of point in sacking him, Sports Republic will only go and find us someone worse.
  6. Most interesting thing seen on that pitch for years.
  7. 🤣 Angry Chaz is my favourite one of the Wayman posting troup 👍
  8. Agreed. By the end I got the feeling that his heart just wasn’t in it and he was only hanging on for the payoff. And why would he feel otherwise; as bad as his form had got he was forced over his last summer to employ a coach of the owner’s approval and seemed to be largely bypassed for what he wanted from the transfer window (“I’m totally confident we will get a striker”). Saying all that, he had been on a downward spiral for some time and didn’t look like being able to arrest it with the resources he had. The previous season had seen us finish with 9 defeats from 12 games, when Ralph was sacked we’d lost 8 from 14 and were in the relegation zone with a deeply unhappy squad who looked like they didn’t give a shit. What happened next was of course an even worse disaster, but that doesn’t change the notion that Ralph had run his race here.
  9. 💔 I bloody love all that stuff, have done since I was a kid.
  10. The Merson analogy perhaps isn’t the best being as he was bang into booze and coke while he was still playing. Gascoigne the same. I get the sentiment but the nature of genuine addictions are that they are just deep down and always there.
  11. I very much doubt it being as it’s closed for a massive refurb. Barca are playing at the old Olympic stadium this season.
  12. That’s now 8 goals he’s conceded from 11 shots on target. Poor fella only needs a good defence in front of him and he’d be right as rain. Make that 9 from 12.
  13. Turned off at half time to d something else instead, glad I did. Fuck off Saints. Going backwards at a good old pace.
  14. Oooh, even better! In stead of only having one non-CB playing CB we’d have two!
  15. It was the worst time of my Saints supporting career too, so he’s got company.
  16. So we’ve shipped 9 in 2 and we’re now trying a midfield that has zero holding midfielders in it. Basically a 4-1-5 formation. It’s a bold strategy Cotton, let’s see if it pays off for ‘em.
  17. Oops. Dropped from YouTube’s ad payouts. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-66851698
  18. I know he’s been open but I think he’s previously tried to portray himself as just a bit of a lad and a top shagger who can pick and choose women at will. I only caught the last of half of the programme last night, but I started with the girl’s story that she was 16 and in school and he’d send round a car to pick her up and bring her to his flat. He was 30 at the time. Then it covered a sexual assault which sounded utterly grim and, according to the victim, there were people outside who heard her screaming and didn’t come in to stop it (one apologised to her years after for it). I said earlier I think this is merely the tip of the iceberg and there will be many more horrendous stories coming out of the woodwork. Good job for him he makes his money from YouTube and such like because I think it’s going to be a terrible look for him once it all starts unravelling.
  19. The geezer has hardly been hiding under a bush. As stated in the Despatches programme he’s got something like 27 million followers worldwide, including 11m on his Twitter and 6m subscribers to his YouTube channel. Quite frankly I don’t think he’s going to be “loving the publicity, good or bad” just because it “puts him back on a major stage again”, he’s already (somehow) got a huge audience of smitten kittens with the likes of weird Elon going in to bat for him.
  20. It’s not your block. But if you’ve had enough it sounds like you need to get up the Chapel end and get yourself amongst the singing group that @ImproveOurAtmosphere has got going on; sounds like those lads are making a big positive change in getting the Chapel kop up and running.
  21. From what I gather there’s been rumours around Brand for years, I can only imagine this is the tip of the iceberg and plenty more women will come out once this has aired, and the Beeb know this.
  22. Smallbone strikes me as a player we used to call a “number 12”.
  23. It was building up to that all game. I said in the match thread, we had two early corners which were cleared and Smallbone was our last man back, he was almost attacking the penalty box. It’s just cavalier nonsense football tactics. Sunderland highlighted our major flaws, Martin said we won’t make those mistakes again, we went out and did exactly the same. It’s just infuriating. He seems a nice guy with a few good ideas but looks like he’s got no idea how to set up a team to defend.
