So, in effect, we’re due for a repeat of the summer and whole carry on with Che Adams. “ he’s going, he might stay, will he go, he’s off, oh no he’s not he’s staying after all.” Adams seemed like he was massive fucked off with all the uncertainty during the summer so he’s gonna love this new scenario. Personally I’d be amazed if the club lashes a big amount at anyone over the January window. Just can’t see it. Any fee for Che isn’t going to be huge given he’s out of contract, and anyone decent in the Championship (there aren’t tonnes of stand out candidates) will be tough to pry away. A PL loan deal for an out of favour striker for a few months, maybe, but how often does that happen? PL players want to, rightly, stay in the PL. Most likely scenario IMO is that Che gets convinced to stay until the end of season then goes on a free, we don’t bring anyone new in.

Don’t think so. Stephens came on after 66 minutes, my recollection is that Armstrong immediately ran over to him and put the armband on him. Armstrong wasn’t subbed off until 76 minutes.

Good start from Saints. As ever I find us a bit predictable up front. With todays lineup you just know that Edozie will be on the left, Adarma towards the right, no proper striker in the middle but Stu and Slowmo Joe arriving later through the middle. Just need to be a bit clever, switch it around a bit, play like a low rent Liverpool when they had Salah, Mane and Firmino, they’d pop up all over the front three.
