  1. Still waiting for the Southampton results, 212 of 230 councils have returned so far. Very much looking like it will remain as a Labour-led council though, but with a much bigger majority. 51 seats across 17 wards up for grabs, although Coxford was cancelled as one of the councillors and candidates died yesterday, so just voting on 48. Current standings: Labour 23, Tories 6 😆, LD 3, Green 1.
  2. Tbf, be careful with that. Years back on here I commented on the fat Santa lad who split his pants in the half time relay and I labelled him a fat mess, I copped two infraction points for it.
  3. Its not right to tax these companies a bit more though. No no no. The great unwashed can just get on with it, long live those lovely dividends (and kickbacks…..).
  4. Jesus. That soggy ‘excuse’ follows a scarily similar pattern to Corbyn when he defended the artist behind the antisemitic Jewish monopoly mural; Corbyn later said “I regret not looking more closely at the image”. Pitiful stuff.
  5. Never trust a man who has a head of hair and no eyebrows.
  6. Wilder was interviewed for the Saints job when Jones got it, so he’s definitely on our radar. I wouldn’t be overly enthused by his appointment, personally, but maybe we’re gonna have to lower our expectations at some point.
  7. Yeah those two were having a good old chinwag on the pitch after the game. Someone else on here said deal all but done, no idea on their ITK credentials but I think we know that JWP is off and Newcastle seems like a good fit. Plus I imagine Eddie Howe is a fan of his. So no surprise if that happens. A bidding war would be useful though, I heard on the radio today that James Milner is off to Brighton on a free and is one of their highest wage earners, that’s also a possibility.
  8. Fairly sure when we were in league one someone piped up with the idea that our side would beat England. Sadly enough a small number of people actually agreed with it.
  9. The problem is he has the potential to quite easily switch people the other way, not just Abbott but much more so when it comes to his constant electioneering . Take me, for instance, literally zero chance of me voting blue at the next GE, and Starmer (while quite uninspiring) seems like a trustworthy man to me. Yet with every SoG post I read about politics I begin to wonder how i feel that my probable vote aligns with a bigot with some too-often quite unpleasant racist tropes in his posts. His Abbott stuff has been extremely bizarre, spending hours of his time trying to defend someone who rightly got booted out of their own party. Doesn’t sit well.
  10. I don’t think he’s very well. Certainly looks like basic washing and cleanliness is beyond him, never mind the appearance choices.
  11. Hang on a minute, are you saying that SoG isn’t quite telling the truth every time he posts on here? And it can easily verified just by trawling through his recent posts? Shocked, I tell you. The geezer’s about the biggest liar on here.
  12. As the geordie twat on comms just said; Saints are 3-1 down and for a Newcastle attack we had all 11 players back defending. No notion of leaving one or two up to hit them on the break. Very disappointing.
  13. Fucking AMN, useless Cunt.
  14. Of course
  15. Phew. Fuck off Gordon. Horrible little shit. Lyanco is getting done with wanton abandon.
  16. Decent start this. We look fragile at the back but playing a high line and breaking forward in numbers.
  17. KWP at left back, Lyanco Rob, Djenepo playing right mid?
  18. From the way it’s listed you’d think 5 at the back, KWP and Djenepo as the wing backs. Could be 4 though with Lyanco RB and KWP at LB! But doubt it, always considered the wacky Spaniard was gonna go with a 5.
  19. Am I fuck. Fucking ridiculous carry on.
  20. Exactly why the championship is a brilliant league. Often 2 games a week, 46 game season. And look at the make up of the current teams in the league; currently 19 of them have been in the premier league in the past 30 years. And it’s likely to be adding to that with promotions from league one, Ipswich are up and playoffs could be Sheff wed, Barnsley , Bolton or derby.
  21. It’s not rocket science.
  22. This. The whole season seems have revolved around spending lots but not being in sync with the manager. Personal feeling only but I considered that Hasenhuttl was completely detached from the summer signings, I don’t think he got what he wanted at all and most if not all players were brought in without much input from him. Then we signed players under Jones who, Alcaraz aside, can either not make the starting eleven or not even make the matchday squad. This summer needs a (good) new manager in early and a transfer strategy to drastically trim the squad and bring in what we need. Ain’t gonna be easy. Get it wrong and I easily see us continuing our death spiral.
  23. Newcastle are in a bit of form, can easily see this being a 4-0, 5-0 or worse. Che might get given a recall, the poor fucker. It’ll definitely be a very defensive team, wouldn’t bet against us starting with 5 at the back.
  24. Agreed. Young keepers make mistakes, it’s a given. Off the top of my head, Savey Davey de Gea and Charlie Hart came through when they were very young, and their early career was showcased a number of high profile mistakes. Amongst that though they also showed an unmistakeable potential. I don’t get that with Bazunu; his distribution is decent but he just doesn’t make enough saves to have me think ‘this lad has really got something about him”. Maybe he’ll improve, he’s only 21, or maybe like Kelvin he’ll demonstrate that he’s very good in a lower division. Or maybe neither. Lots to prove but I don’t see a keeper who just needs to learn a bit, there’s a bit more needed. Maybe a season in the Championship will do him good.
  25. I don’t buy the idea that Marsch would’ve saved us. Leeds were going entirely in the wrong direction under him, he might have given us a boost, who knows, but I don’t see it as a great missed opportunity. Our fate was sealed with the disaster that was Nathan Jones, 3 points from 8 games (3 from 7 if we’re generous and discount the Liverpool game), and completely disrupted the whole squad. Selles (9 points from 11) actually has quite a similar points per game as Hassenhuttl from the start of the season (12 from 14); both records that over the course of a season would see us in trouble but still in with a decent chance of survival. Selles has been disappointing, don’t get me wrong, but he’s only been as poor as a Ralph was from the start of the season. And I still see plenty of people say we should’ve kept hold of Ralph, even though his and Selles’ record is so similar.
