  1. Would 30,000 pissed up football fans urinating on it do the same job? 😋
  2. It’s like he thinks we’re better than we are. ‘Oh it’s only little old Watford, I can play some fringe players and we’ll still win.’ Even now most of us can see how weak the team/squad is in certain areas and he’s playing Valery at CB in a 3 and Armstrong on his own up front. I worry the club, and Ralph, feel we’re immune to relegation because we’ve avoided it for the last few years but this league is stronger this season and teams that should be in a relegation battle are strengthening well. Sports Republic are not going to want to see their investment go down so hopefully if we do start lingering like a bad smell near the bottom, the trigger will be fired. It takes a lot for me to turn on a manager and I’ve always quite liked him, especially after the car crash regimes of Pellegrino and Hughes, but that bad run of form and consistent poor decisions and excuses have shown me that his time with us must be coming to a close. And yes I think we should have pulled the trigger in the summer… we could have still signed the youngsters but given them time to get used to a new manager and new tactics. Now we’ve had our pre-season and the season is underway and we may possibly be looking to bring in a new manager meaning everyone needs to get used to the new manager whoever it is. Is it too little too late? No but we have to hope the new signings (and new signings yet to come) bed quickly. And if we are going to sack Ralph it needs to be done before too much damage is done.
  3. Gawd help Ralph if we're losing at half time, they'll hear the boos from space. It would be a huge morale booster to get an early goal or two. With Leeds players still settling in this is a good time to play them but they've already won which isn't good. We could already be six points behind our relegation rivals after two games so we definitely need something from this game. I still think 1-1 but it depends on the line up I guess.
  4. The same Elyounoussi that there were rumours we were going to give a new contract to not so long ago?
  5. ...and then by the time they do get up to speed, Ralph could be sacked for poor results and we bring another new manager in with new ideas and potentially tactics and the players then have to get up to speed with those. That's if the current players are fancied by the new manager, who may wish to bring in his own players in the January window. By which time we're roughly 2/3rds of the way into the season with players who are still getting used to one another.
  6. I believe Ralph said in pre-season he likes Romeu further forward - fair enough then play 4-1-4-1 with Lavia in the DM role that he's natural in - heck Lavia could even drop back more defensively if the full backs get forward and almost make a third CB and BOSH there's the 5-3-2 Ralph wants to play. (Sorry too much FM).
  7. 5-3-2 or whatever it is is all very good if coached well AND we have the players to play it. We need 3 good CBs, which we don't have. It also stunts the attack more because we lose a player in attack. Even if you cement ABK and Salisu in the back 3, you're still having to pick a third CB between Bednarek, Stephens, Lyanco and Valery. Or Simeu unless he goes back out on loan. I seem to remember we had this issue around the time we first got smashed 9-0. We were playing 3 at the back for a while and then got tonked, before Ralph started playing 4-2-2-2 and results picked up.
  8. What all 38 of them? 😜
  9. We've spent the summer strengthening the spine - 2 keepers, a CB, a DM, an AM and a Striker. We basically still need another CB, FB, AM and at least one striker if not two. Going well this transfer window. 😁 (It is, I'm being deliberately specious. Of course we'll bring in one more striker.)
  10. Lis, Valery, Stephens, Simeu, Small, Smallbone, Watts, Tella, Djenepo, Armstrong, Mara... or something like that once all the jewels are sold off. Yippee! (Ok I'm being extreme but the point stands.)
  11. This season just gets better and better and like a lingering fart in a lift, it's still fresh and new. What other delights do we have in store... kidnapping of JWP perhaps? Arse fallout for Aribo? (I don't know if that's a medical thing but it sounded like something that would keep a player off football) Losing KWP is like losing two players. Oh wait, we have Valery to slot in there. Yay.
  12. I remember thinking (and think people on here were saying it) that £1 million is a lot of money for League One. How little were we to know he'd become a club legend and be one of those lower league players that kept adapting to the higher leagues. The Vardy of his time, only not a twat.
  13. Meanwhile a team that was probably going to be a direct rival in a relegation battle, Everton, have signed Coady and Tarkowski, either of whom would instantly improve our defence, for the grand sum of nothing, just wages. Our defence has been crap for months and we’ve signed one CB that didn’t even get a game on Saturday. If don’t care how many CBs we have, we need another and we need one with match experience.
  14. One swallow does not make a summer. It wouldn't excuse the last six months of crap. But it would be a step in the right direction... though our fixtures after look rough.

    Sean Dyche?

As a CB? Be better than Valery. 😁

    Sean Dyche?

He'd probably make us tougher to beat but he's like the English Puel, a bit boring. I'd support him if we got him but I don't think that's the route the club would take.
  17. Got more chance of signing Gok Wan than Gakpo. I'm clinging the the hope the Mara is the next Thierry Henry and not the next Emmanuel Mayuka.
  18. Bearing in mind their financial troubles, they're finally doing some good work there. I thought defence would be their let down but Coady and Tarkowski is a decent experienced pair of CBs. Onana to come in to, if they can sort their attack out then they might not be the relegation fodder I had them down as.
  19. I'm actually hoping for a United equaliser here. Crap though they've been we could do with the likes of Brighton dropping points.
  20. That is literally our best side at present IMO. Granted even Salisu effed up yesterday but he's still probably one of our two best CBs. Why Ralph can't see it I'll never know. I don't have an issue with Djenepo at LWB who seems to be doing Ok there but playing Valery at RCB is borderline criminal over other, better players. I'd like to see us with a new striker in the next couple of days that can start against Leeds but I'm not holding my breath. Same 3 at the back, same lame attack, same shite.
  21. Blimey United are awful. I can see a busy last 3 weeks of the transfer window for them.
  22. Someone that can come in and realise what our best first XI is in the best formation would be a marked improvement. Ralph has been here 4 years and still hasn't got a clue what it is. Even the 4-2-2-2 or 4-1-4-1 would be better than what we're trying to play now. Pick the formation to suit the players at your disposal, not the other way around where you're shoehorning the likes of Valery in over much better players. Unless something drastic happens and we sign a CB and striker that instantly improve the team, I can't see Ralph lasting the season. Thomas Frank would definitely be a good appointment but I doubt he'd want to leave Brentford right now.
  23. Blimey United look shyte. Even we might have a chance against them if they play like this! Gross goal. (EDIT: Scored by Gross, it wasn't disgusting. 😋)
  24. Everyone knows the CB we deserve is Umtiti. Barcelona want him gone, we need an experienced CB, it's a no brainer! 😜
