  1. Lovely Fernandes and good assist Dibling
  2. That's amazing if true.
  3. I know we shouldn't be relying heavily on an 18 year old but he does look good and if you're good enough, you're old enough.
  4. I liked him but he obviously just didn't fit. He joined a bonkers club at a bonkers time but he did ok. Wish him all the best.
  5. Merson would be shitting himself over that.
  6. Tolu Arokodare at Genk. 15 goals last season, 4 already this season, 6'6" 23 year old. The next Tall Paul. 😁
  7. We played the loan market well last season, it would be nice to do that again - even if it's harder being a Prem side than a Championship side to do that.
  8. If Martin deems AA to be a striker, then he needs to play him there and stop having him wide in a two. The positions that AA and BBD took up against Forest were ridiculously wide for a team that didn't have a player in the middle. AA does make decent runs and he scored a decent amount of goals last season (including key goals) but I will never be comfortable with him playing as a striker - he doesn't have the speed of thought a Prem striker needs. However Russ is the manager and if he wants AA as a striker, then we can't really argue - but I agree that means we need to bring in a player on the right. I don't see Fellows being the answer too from what I saw of him last season - he's still too raw. Our strikers going into the season then are AA, Archer, TP and Stewart - one of whom will probably leave - with BBD able to do a job there too. That worries me. How can a club that spots a player like Sugawara not be able to spot other similar gems?
  9. Ok, punt at the line up: Lumley, Breezy, Edwards, Wood, Taylor, Lesley, Dibling, Fernandes, AA, Archer, BBD. The more I look at our squad on Wikipedia the more I think we are so weak in an attacking sense.
  10. With every day that passes as we head towards 11pm on Friday, the more I'm hoping we hang on to TP. The problem is the Turkish window shuts in mid-September (the Saudi window shuts after ours too incidentally) and we don't want to be in a position where our window has closed and we're still losing players that could help us.
  11. Bijlow wasn't going to use his wrists anyway, we only wanted him for his feetsies. The club better act fast. We need a keeper or we are up poo creek without a paddle.
  12. That’s because they’re ahead of their time, they’ve been to the year 3000. Not much has changed, but Stephens still plays in a back 3. And Russ and Lucy’s great-great-great granddaughter is pretty fine.
  13. Us fans would obviously love him to stay even if he runs his contract down but money talks and unless he signs the contract, he's gone if someone comes in for him. With Suga at RB and Bree as backup, we're fine there but Taylor and Manning are a step down on the left, particularly if we persevere with wing backs. It's possible we're holding on to Larios for this possibility. If the sale of KWP allowed us to bring in a decent winger/AM/striker, it wouldn't be the worst thing but I hope he stays. Even better if he signs the contract.
  14. When you look at Palace signing Eddie Nketiah for £25 million (plus £5million add ons) it shows that Sargent simply wouldn't be good value (or would just be too much of a risk, there's nothing saying he wouldn't make a Prem striker, just too much of a risk in a season where we need to stay up). I'm not saying Nketiah is the answer for us either, just that the money is probably the same for him and for what Norwich would want for Sargent.
  15. He's a good Championship striker that is only 24 and is getting better with game time and may or may not make the step up to the Prem - but for the money Norwich want for him (£25 million+ with a contract until 2028) he's not yet worth it IMO as he'd be too big of a risk. He leads the line well, presses well, brings others into play and can finish but... his injury record is somewhat iffy. I think Bournemouth have been interested though which shows the sort of level he may get to and for that money we should be able to do better. Enter this Yuri fella...
  16. Well done @Benthelegend
  17. I'm a fan of JWP and for the right price I'd love to see him back but we have a potential midfield three of Fernandes, Lesley and Downes with Smallbone, Lallana, Dibling and Aribo competing and I just fell we need to sort the attack out way more than central midfield. Our attack looks weak compared to the rest of the team (as long as we get Bijlow in).
  18. I choose to believe that this video was actually achieved with the use of A.I. and he actually plants each and every one of those shots in the back of the net. But seriously, I’ve never heard of him but stats wise he’s 23 and has scored goals wherever he’s been… however I remember when we were linked with Carrillo how people were bemoaning the transfer before it happened, and that proved to be correct. So I have decided to stand with the fans. Down with Yuri! Guilty until proven innocent!
  19. I have it on good authority that we've put a bid in for Kalimuendo. On FM. I'm buying him for Saints on FM. Any news on Bijlow? Must be close...
  20. Seems to have very Tadic-y numbers... which is ironic seeing as he's at the same club we got Tadic from.
  21. I like Alcaraz and he's stated he's happy to be here and try to do well for the team (which is refreshing for a 21 year old in a sport where big money beckons) and I think he has talent, but if he doesn't fit our current manager's system then we should get what we can for him. I'm pretty sure he'll go on to have a good career and we may one day regret selling him but I'd rather sell him and bring in the money to strengthen the team with players that can actually improve us now.
  22. I maintain, I don't think their recruitment is any better than ours. We've made punts that could work, they've made punts that could work. I don't think either club stay up at the end of the season but what we've both done is strengthen our teams for the next promotion push.
  23. Player wise yes. Manager wise no. 4-3-3 is fine with they players we have, we just have to get the new lads up to speed and fast... and hope Russ stops playing 3 CBs when it's not required. (TBF If I'm being honest, I've never been a fan of 3 CBs. If 2 CBs can't do a good enough job then you haven't got the right CBs! 3 CBs blunts the attack as you're either having to leave out a midfielder or an attacker and hope that your wing backs are good enough.)
  24. If Russ plays 3 CBs I'll go mad. But I bet he does. Anyway this isn't a competition we will win, nor should it be any kind of priority for us, so I'd put a "weaker" team made out of new players/squad players and youngsters and see what they can do. Though there is something to be said for making today's team play again until they learn how to score a goal.
