  1. Warning signs are there. Welington looking decent. I will never like 3 CBs but you can't argue we're overloaded in that particular position and thus it is a way to go. Just need to hope Welington and Sugawara provide the width.
  2. He did, very lively and should have scored. Looks like he'll be a good signing for them at this level. They've done some good business - was surprised to see they'd signed Lyndon Dykes, that one took me by surprise. But overall I definitely saw weaknesses from both sides, Brum couldn't close the game out and Ipswich were just poor, so that's promising for us.
  3. Even Ricardo Fuller cost more than that. Bargain. And Celtic sold him to Rennes because the player wanted to play in one of Europe's top 5 leagues. Rennes sold him as he wasn't getting enough game time. Apparently the Championship is one of Europe's top 5 Leagues. Fancy that.
  4. Aribo probably leaving. Relegation it is then.😄
  5. Harsh handball but I still think a point each for these is good for their promotion chasing rivals.
  6. I don't mind these two slugging it out for a point each. Both will be in the mix for a top 6 place come the end of the season which, hopefully for us, makes them our rivals and thus two points dropped for both would be a good start.
  7. Starting to feel the murmurings of something resembling excitement. Prob'ly last until 12:32hrs tomorrow.
  8. Ndidi had a relegation release clause of 9 million, he's about to join Besiktas. With their Goalkeeper gone too they could lose a few more yet. We might lose Dibling, Fernandes and possibly THB still but we'd still be in a pretty strong position IMO both in terms of players we have and the ability to spend money on new players when we can. (And then then there's loans). If Ipswich also get raided then even better for us.
  9. The never reliable prediction wheel is back for a new season and today it predicts the scoreline of our first game... Screen_Recording_20250807_222031_Samsung Internet.mp4 So there you have it. Marginal one goal victory for the mighty Saints. I'll try to keep a tally on it's success this season. The wheel has decided. (That's the catchphrase)
  10. Faes is awful. I hope he stays there and partners Vestergaard.
  11. Final Position: Presently I think we'll finish in the play-offs but most "pundits" have us finishing 2nd and I think with the right replacements for the outgoing jewels I'll also stick my neck out and say 2nd. September post-window closure will reveal all. I will revisit this prediction then. Top Scorer (goals): I think our goals will be more spread out than relying on Adam Armstrong like last time, so I think our top scorer will hit 18 - and that will also be Armstrong. Player of the Season: Jack Stephens. Nah seriously I will go with Downes (if he's still here). But I still hope we sign an AM that gets this award. Young Player of the Season: I want to say Robinson but I think we'll put a lot of faith in Quarshie and so he gets my pick. Summary: I think our early season form will be sketchy until we finalise and integrate the new players that we will inevitably sign before the end of the month but then I think we will pick up the pace and start heading towards the top spot. Will we make it? Probably not but I still think we have the talent to get promoted one way or the other. Anything but promotion will be a failure.
  12. Only the best people are born at Wexham Park Hospital.
  13. Mentions of TB OG statue must be accompanied by photo. I'd look miserable if I knew I wasn't going to get paid for the next few months. 😆
  14. Difficult to pick half the line up. You'd think Baz starts as number 1, Stephens will partner Quarshie and Charles starts in central midfield. Sugawara and Wellington should be the full backs. AA will probably start, Archer and Downs likewise although I'm not entirely sure how you get them all into the same side without playing one of them out of position. Robinson should start. Something like this? Essentially we're light in CM and AM. Am I excited? Not yet but I probably will be on the day.
  15. Respect the point
  16. I'm looking forward to FM 2026 so I can leave Stephens out. 😁
  17. Parliament. Very good. Owls innit.
  18. Djuricic maybe but Elia is 38 and retired 3 years ago. 😜
  19. Mattias Kvistgaarden. You heard it here first. (And probably last). But seriously Norwich could have a decent season and they are known from springing gems. Kvistgaarden has a good scoring record at Brondby in the last season and a half and should make the step up. As Norwich are the wife's team, I'll be keeping and eye out for him.
  20. Same here. Has potential but not sure if he'll ever realise it. Him, Larios etc - players from big club academies that we thought could be the next Lavia or Livramento. Hopefully we've moved away from that "buy young and hope" model. At least Downs and Quarshie have proved their capability at the second level of football in a decent League structure. AM/Winger position does need work though more than any other position IMO.
  21. The word 'hot' there is one more word in that phrase than usually describes SR's transfer policy.
  22. Porto in for Bednarek and Everton interested in Lyanco. Are their scouts watching what we're watching?
  23. Edwards, Quarshie, Kayi Sanda, Wood... the future of our CBs lies with them, no place for Bednarek or ABK. I'm kinda hoping THB sticks around though but I'm not holding my breath. Didn't mind Bednarek but he's a Championship level defender and should never have been playing in the Prem.
  24. President of UEFA.
  25. Sexual harassment when there's a Clinton present. There's a joke in there somewhere.
