Asssuming those are the teams. I still think Norwich will slip in there. They've beaten both WBA and Hull in the last couple of months and despite their loss against Boro last game (they were 1-0 before a red card) I still think they have the squad experience to do it.

Yeah it's not looking good, even the most positive Saints fan in the world would struggle to spin that we're still in the hunt for an auto spot but as long as it's mathematically possible we shouldn't completely give up hope. We still have all 3 of them to play, let's say for a second we win those six pointers and keep winning, it's not completely inconceivable we could sneak back in. We're getting key players back too and have a nice break coming. I do think play-offs beckon though and I just hope we keep the key players fit for that and we go into them in some kind of decent form. Fail to go up and it's just a shame that what has otherwise been a good season would have been ruined by (at time of writing) two short, bad spells.

So... music choices for the DJ on Saturday. Disco Inferno?

Was a good game tonight... Preston didn't even turn up.

Hopefully the Sunderland game goes ahead at the weekend, I wouldn't want to fall too far behind even with games in hand. Long way for Sunderland to come without plenty of notice though. I can see the Northam singing "The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire!"

If you didn't know the game had been postponed and went to SMS, the only Bree you'd see tonight is debris.
-
Setting off for the game soon. Hope there's a bit of a spark about us.

Very much this. Bloody Ipswich making a real fight of it.
-
Leeds and Leicester doing just enough.

Ooh twists and turns at Portman Road. Dammit. Still time BC!

Come on Sunderland, BC and Stoke - do us a flavour! 🙂

I agree in that we are looking for at least 2 of the 3 teams to drop points while we have to keep winning, something we're struggling to do cleanly at the moment... But... we have the big 3 to play yet. Whilst I've been worrying about those games, they may also be the very ones that turn the tide for us. Huge 6 pointers still to come and we just have to hope we win them. With most of the first team back we stand a decent enough shot.

Thankfully we have an England striker from Devon who is bang in form and who should absolutely be going. I'd be taking Watkins, but I reckon Southgate is eyeing up Toney. We shall see.
-
But Manning would be playing further away from his own goal. Swings and roundabouts.

Keep the pace, keep the faith. (TM SNSUN - Phrase for sale for £500k so I can buy myself a house mortgage free.) Seriously though we're home, with Downes back, Bree back, spirit and morale with a hard fought win behind us - we should get back to winning ways here. Preston may be in a great run of unbeaten form, but so were we and BC spanked us. Please win this Saints so that autos is still doable.

"Fuck you you fucking wankah!" Didn't sound very Brummie that...

I went to school at Bearwood (many moons ago) so I'm very familiar with the area but I haven't been back since the new Reading training ground went in although I might see it if I move over that way (as I probably intend to at some point). Glad to hear they're doing well now even with the ownership situation hanging over their heads. While I'm a Berkshire boy born and bred I have no real strong feelings about Reading FC but they were the first opponents I saw when I went to my first Saints game (Elm Park, '96, FA Cup 3rd round), a few friends of mine support them and I went to school with their former owner so I am hoping they keep their heads above water.

Rotherham could still get 33 points ya know! 🙂

Nope - and while those results may be blips compared to our recent 'capitulation', it shows that going forwards with Downes back, Bree back and soon (hopefully) KWP back (as well as Fraser for the last few games), that anything can happen, especially as we have to play all 3 ahead of us. Keep the pace, Keep the faith. (TM SNSUN)

I like him too, perhaps not as much as I liked Ralph, but he seems honest. Was he the right choice for us this season? Well I think he has had a few hurdles to climb, players leaving, building a team, changing the style - all whilst under pressure to get us promoted back at the first attempt. You could argue that someone like Daniel Farke is a proven Championship promotion manager (who has gotten lucky with a squad rich with attacking options) but Maresca was a risk for Leicester too (albeit with probably the best squad in the league) and McKenna isn't proven at this level either. The two patches of bad form this season don't fill me with confidence, but I do think if we don't go up that we should stick by him for next season. The issue will be bringing in the players that can perform as well as the ones we will be likely to lose this summer - which will be a big ask.
-
Funny if we caught Leicester as we sailed past them into 3rd. I apologise to Ipswich fans for thinking their team would drop away. They're making a real go of it.
-
If we played old school 442 then Manning might do a Marsden style job in the left of midfield. But we don't and he can't defend. Bree left back is absolutely the answer.
-
Delighted with that. Stuck a sneaky tenner on when we were up 3-2 that Brum would draw or win the game and nearly had the £100 odd profit but that win is priceless for morale, a learning experience and more importantly keeping ourselves in the promotion hunt. With Downes back and KWP not far away we are mostly back to full strength again so we really need to start winning games regularly again and we could surprise the top 2.

Get the fuck in!
