Lots of our old youth scoring today, N'Lundulu, Mugabi, Olomola... #greatestacademyever

Typical, been sleeping after night shift, missed the first half and we're 2 up. I should sleep through more Saints games...

Althouth THB would become ours if we went up and I think he's be good enough for a first XI spot in the Premier League. I agree with Downes though, I reckon West Ham would want him back after a great season on loan and he's a Hammer's fan anyway I believe so I'd be surprised if he was willing to stay. As for the rest of the squad I reckon we would need 7/8 players to really compete, A CB, A LB, 2 x CM, 2 x AM/Wingers and 1 if not 2 x strikers. That's probably £100 to £150 million of new players just to compete. It doesn't bear thinking about right now. Let's just get there and see. I don't see us getting into the auto spots so then it is the lottery of the play-offs.

Replacing Sulemana isn't a problem, we've been getting more of a tune out of Fraser anyway of late and we also have Edozie, SAA and Aribo that can play there, but we absolutely need to be going out and signing a striker in January, even if it's on loan. AA is better playing wider and I'm not totally convinced with playing Alcaraz up top who I think is better slightly deeper. With Adams seemingly not being arsed right now and Mara showing no sign of improving, we definitely need a striker. Who? Ings? He'd be on my list. Someone like Kieffer Moore? Looking at the Prem there aren't too many options. We do need someone though, we can't rely on Ross getting back to full fitness by February let alone back to his goalscoring best. In our promotion season in 2012 we signed Sharp (the less said about Tadanari Lee and Iago Falque the better) and he got us over the line, I'd like to see us do the same thing again.

He's definitely benefitting from game time and experience. Two top instinctive saves tonight and a clean sheet. Well done fella.

I effectively wrote this exact paragraph and then saw yours. Unbeaten in 10 and yet we still aren't clicking, particularly in attack, and it was Baz that came up with a couple big saves today to keep us in it before our best player hands down won us the game. From right back. I'll take crappy wins for the rest of the season as long as we keep picking up 3 points (though it won't be good for the heart) but as it showed against Huddersfield and Rotherham, if we don't kill games off it could cost us. I just hope that when we get Ross back he clicks quickly because Adams isn't offering much right now.

Tf for that. And a late Wednesday equaliser too

It is. I reckon someone dies on Christmas Day... 🤪

The wife has commandeered the TV for Eastenders. So I'll miss the first 15 minutes of the second half. Shame.
-
We'd be winning if we still had Djenepo. 😝

Not a bad ball from AA but nobody gambled.
-
What a save Baz

Che on for Sule. Not unhappy with that but we will see.
-
We definitely miss a focal point I'm the box. I want to see more from Sulemana. He doesn't look confident.
-
I can safely say that one of the Mannings tonight will end the game happier than the other.
-
Line up looks OK. Should have enough to win 3-1. With the poor draw against Huddersfield in the last game I feel nothing less than a win would be acceptable here. BC are no mugs though. That said I think we will win.
-
I'd be very surprised if we strung form together enough for us to hit the auto spots. Need to just concentrate on getting into the play offs comfortably.
-
That was coming.
-
I'm impressed with our recent form but for once it would be nice to really finish a team off earlier in the game so we can showboat. We'll never see a David Dunn style failed Rabona otherwise!
-
Lack of players I believe. I think they're knackered in an attacking sense from what I gathered on their forum the other day.
-
To be fair in 2003 we had a decent cup run, after smashing Spurs, against Championship opposition... until the final when we played the best team in Britain. But yeah it's not the same as going into the final as favourites which Pompey were because they had players they shouldn't have had.

No wonder Staples went out of business without 'Arry buying their brown envelopes
-
If we don't go up I can see someone like Palace maybe taking a punt on him if they could afford him - he's a similar player to Clyne who will be out of contract this summer.

It's been said before that many Saints youngsters have banged in goals at "lower levels" then never hit the heights in senior football. I hope Ballard isn't one of them. However if we go up this season I think he goes on loan for another year. Stay in the Championship and I would hope he would be one of our squad options next season alongside AA, Ross and A.N Other. The Reading loan will do him good IMO no matter how fruitcake they are right now.
