Martin is walking a tightrope and things must change. Fast. One win won't do it either, we need to consistently be picking up points from now until January when we can do something about it.

I really wanted to like this team this year, I really thought Sheffield Wednesday on the opening day showed us what was to come. Instead we've got a bunch of bottlers that have no cutting edge, cannot string two passes together, and a manager that doesn't seem to know how to change it. We won't get promoted. We've gone from mid-table Prem to mid-table Championship in 4 years. Woeful.

2 of Charles, Downes and Smallbone should be starting AT BEST. They are 3 very 'ordinary' midfielders, nothing much creative about them. We have Alcaraz on the bench AGAIN. Is there one forum user that would put a fit Alcaraz on the bench over, say, Smallbone? Obviously the manager sees more than we do but I can't fathom it otherwise. Game's not over though and, I suppose, at least the bench is strong. Manning for Holgate. Do they admit they fucked up with Holgate?

Signing Stewart and keeping Mara and Adams did mean loaning out Ballard was a decent decision in the end but for a while I was definitely annoyed by this decision. I think our attack will click at some point. More worrying is midfield for me. If we have another season at this level which currently looks possible then hopefully Ballard can be a part of that with senior football behind him.

The sad thing about not going up will be missing out on signing THB permanently, losing quality players like Edozie and being left with the players nobody wants… again. We need to try to get back to winning ways and the best way I can see us doing that is by playing your best players. Alcaraz and Sulemana must start. We better hope to god Stewart is fit soon and finds form quickly. As for defence and midfield… god knows.

We have nothing in midfield. Nothing to link between defence and attack. We signed two CMs and one is at CB after we lost our entire compliment or CMs in the summer (bar Willy). Madness.

Piroe scores again. While I hope Stewart is the better choice long term, I do wish we'd signed Piroe. However in the current team I think even Piroe would have struggled to make an impact as quickly as he has.

He was decent against Wednesday but he has regressed in a very short space of time and that is why he should be nothing more than a back up. Charly showed he was the better player when he came on and even Stu was a big improvement. Keep Will for back up or games when we are expected to have a lot of the ball (eg. Wednesday) and play the likes of Downes, Charles, Charly and Stu over him. Hell after that performance last night I'd rather even see what Aribo could do instead! And then there's Kamari Doyle... The midfield is still new and it was always going to be the issue for us in the early part of the season as we lost JWP, Lavia and even Diallo but they need to get their shit together quickly. As does Martin.
