  1. I've been enjoying the football highlights this season, after largely avoiding MOTD for the last couple.
  2. I'm not sure 79 minutes constitutes a late goal for us, but I'll take it! This would be a huge win if we can hang on.
  3. I've barely been able to follow this game today due to working but let me guess: we've played really well but not converted chances and now we've conceded? Lets hope for that late Saints goal...
  4. Not to mention he's predominantly played on the right hand side of the centre back pairing for most of his career but is now having to adjust to the left CB slot with THB on the right. He's doing well and our improvement at the back is because we have found a decent settled back 4. I know Poland aren't a huge nation but he has played for them over 50 times and is still just entering his peak age as a CB at 27 so we wouldn't get much better at Championship level. If we make it back to the Prem though, he wouldn't be in my first choice pairing.
  5. Elyounoussi showing that if the opposition is crap enough, he can score. 😁

    Dom Ballard

This. They are poor under Selles bar one big result in the EFL trophy and even with their points deduction they'd be adrift of safety. They may very well be in League Two next year, even if they do find a buyer. Their owner has Royally screwed them. I hope Ballard comes back a better player - we may need him next season if we don't go up.
  7. Tough fixture this. Potential to drop points at home, WBA going great guns right now, tight at the back and with Thomas-Asante and Diangana in good form they look strong in attack. We are picking up results without showing much of a cutting edge, the mark of a good team, but the defence will be shuffled and I think we will drop points here, but maybe do enough for a point. 1-1. A win would be huge though.

    Ryan Fraser

    Supersub just about covers it.
  9. VAR is fucked. In the Newky vs Arse game just now they checked for 3 things. 3. The damn stoppage was about 7 minutes. Newcastle scored. - did the ball go out of play? Yes. - was it a foul? No. - Was it offside? Yes. But the out of play alone should have been enough to rule that goal out.
  10. Just gonna leave this here... 👤
  11. We score... we win! But Ipswich equalise...
  12. Repeat after me... Saints love a late goal this season. 👃
  13. I had 1 nil either way so I'm still open minded we'll get the 3 points. But time is ticking. A point would still gain us a tiny bit of ground on the top 3 though as it stands.
  14. Typical weekend where we can gain ground on the top 2, play well and do everything but score.
  15. Yeah but these people have been incited by their maternal parental to wash their mouths out and commit acts of murder with their paternal parents' gun on people from Eastern Hampshire so I don't think they can be completely trusted.
  16. Fixed it for you. 😏😉
  17. I wouldn't mind him getting a sub appearance against Milwall but I'd love him to start against WBA at home, with the roar of the crowd when his name is announced really spurring him on to do well! I'd love to be there except I've been give a stupid fucking late turn at work ffs
  18. I feel we have it in our locker to get a tonking win against someone soon... but not against Milwall. Either it'll be one goal either way or a draw. The rose tinted specs means I'll predict a 1-0 win to Saints, with a rare clean sheet for Baz and the defence.
  19. Today's news: "In a decision that will surprise nobody, the World Cup has been awarded to the enormously rich nation of Saudi Arabia after the Australian FA were paid off handsomely pulled out of the running completely of their own volition. Fans of the World Cup have not been quoted as saying "Oh yippee, another winter World Cup! Why would anyone want to enjoy a warm summer's afternoon sipping an ice cold Cider in a beer garden whilst enjoying a game when they could be freezing their tits off drinking Mulled Cider whilst ignoring their Kid's Christmas activities at home." An anonymous media outlet said that they had tried to contact Gianni Infantino for comment but was told he was out helicopter shopping."
  20. "It was the greatest Nil Nil of all time! One for the history books. Your grandkids will be looking back at this no-score draw with great fondness long after you or I have passed on. One day they will emulate this match in the playground - the day Maguire kept Haaland quiet." Or somesuch thing...
  21. I'm not normally one that's interested in the Manchester derby but I'm interested to see how Haaland gets on against a centre back pairing of Evans and Maguire. Go Erling...
  22. "Do you miss the Premier League" is a slightly vague question - do I miss last season and being beaten most weeks? No. Do I miss the Koeman days where we were actually run well and put together a good team that got into Europe. Most definitely yes. Any League is fun when you're doing well and crap when you're doing badly. I bet Villa and Brighton fans for instance are loving life right now - I bet they don't miss their recent Championship stint for a second. I'm enjoying the Championship this season, to a point, but if you offered me Championship or Premier League next season I know which I'd choose.
  23. Right so far...
  24. They are all winnable, as are most of the fixtures in this league, given that we have better players than most other teams. If we play as well as we can and can consistently convert chances, like yesterday, we can beat anyone. Inconsistency has been our biggest downfall this season though - but we're on a reasonably good unbeaten run now and playing with confidence - and most of those teams have been stuttering/struggling. It's difficult to actually pick a loss from those fixtures, even when trying to be pessimistic. I think Millwall away will be tough as could Watford be - but I see no reason why we can't get 20+ points from those - I think I've gone with 22 but I'm not going to list them for fear of reprimand in January!
  25. I only saw the highlights but at first glance it looked like a Brum player's arm was keeping THB onside. Not that I fully ever understand the rules. However knowing VAR there would have been multiple lines drawn at quirky angles and a 5 minutes stoppage in play so I'm quite glad we don't have it in the Championship. I'm sure whether it was offside or not we'll get similar decisions for/against us this season at some point. Whether or not the Baz challenge was a penalty (I do think many refs would have given it), I know if it had happened against us, as a fan, I'd have been fuming with the decision.
