For some reason it amuses me when cockneys or southwestern folk ring up phone ins and say that they support Liverpool. I do think that there should be some personal connection (for English people) to the English club they support - that's just me though and people can support who they want. When a Brummie calls in, they generally support a Brummie team. Same with the north east. And then there are those that seem to swap teams on a season basis!!

It most certainly is, up until the the time government backing stops.
-
It is sustainable when you have the backing and blessing of President Xi who is pouring billions into the game so that they can dominate.
-
And the family situation as well. Pelle's Mrs apparently didn't like it there. I wonder whether players will do 1 year or maybe 2 before coming back to Europe.
-
But no foreign goalies are allowed.
-
Fonte's agent happens to be same person as one Diego Costa's agent.
-
Have to say, find it hard to disagree with any of this.
-
Well the PL "ruined" football with all the money that suddenly came in, so they can hardly whinge when someone else comes in with even more money.
-
Ah. Must have misheard the wireless.

Apparently Costa has got the hump as China offered him £13m a year and I presume Chelsea said no.

Just looking at Sky and an even better example is the subheading....."Baggies head Benteke odds". So you click on that and go through to https://www.skybet.com/football/transfer-specials/event/20236800?aff_id=11941&dcmp=ss_betlink_LIVE_BENTEKE And you see that they don't actually head the odds, or if you consider that they do, then it is all rather meaningless.

I think Real should take him to replace Pepe.

Isn't that a little assumptive of what has been going on? A few tit bits here and there, and while it is easy to join the dots, you might well be justified in your conclusions, but then it might be far from the truth. Or do you know more about what is/has been going on?

£20m + £105k pw - think we should move on. These players are going to have to realise that their super contracts are not going to be matched elsewhere. Maybe he should just sit on the Liverpool bench and pick up his weekly cheque.
-
It may not be popular, but old Rupes only had the best of intentions for the club. Maybe unorthodox but not like Orange Ken. A bullet dodged.

But, there are 2 ways of doing things....someone like West Ham show their hand and prices will go up. By saying not bothered, that is us holding our cards much closer to our chest and hopefully will not mean prices are inflated more than they already are. I think everyone can see where our problem is, but not sure everyone knows quite what the Club/manager is thinking. Maybe they are happy with what they have, maybe they're not.

Is it even worth feeding the troll. It would be nice if Admin just refunded it his £5 and closed his account down, but as they seemingly won't, we have to suffer its puerile postings. Maybe if they were just ignored then it might get bored and grow up a little.

And it's not like Liverpool have never mentioned Munich either.

Payet - 29yo and on £125k a week + a **** poor attitude. Who is going to want to meet WHU's valuation when they will have little resale opportunity? I suspect like Fonte, his appeal to other clubs might not be as strong as he thinks. God know's what WHU will value him at - no doubt it will be something completely unrealistic. North of £30m?
-
And that's not hauling over either.

Always good to try and poach players off your relegation rivals.

The first 15/20 minutes were concerning. We had a back 9 and sometimes a back 10. Firing the ball out, to come straight back. I like Long's speed. If you sit deep like that, he can chase a ball down so much better than JRod (although what happens then is hit or miss), and therefore offer more of an outlet. I also think that the opposition sit a little deeper with him, knowing that he can quite often chase down a 5 yard lead.

As I walked out of the ground, I said to my mate that I couldn't wait to get back to the car to turn the radio on as I bet they would be saying that they had an eye on the weekend's game with Utd. I was not disappointed. Apparently that was the reason for them being lacklustre last night. I do wonder how important a win that was for us. Certainly for the team and supporters, but more about if you are in the transfer market and a potential target doesn't know much about us, he would likely turn on to watch. If we were spanked 1-6, you might think that it best to go somewhere else.

He must be one of the hardest workers we have in the team. I really would not be surprised if the stats showed that he covers most ground. He had a great game last night and when people say he should have scored, it tends to forget about their goal keeper. He made 2 good saves. Sure a bit this way or that way, and it might have been in the back of the net, but at least he forced some good saves.

For me Shlong. If we are to sit relatively deep, as we did quite often today, then the pace of Long is surely going to be more effective than JRod. He makes the opposition play in a very different style as they know that he can catch them out. Like the bit when Redmond hit the bar, Long was 5 yards behind the defender and still caught him. I also think Long has much more "cuteness" about him. Those little pushes that get missed by the ref. When they have both played, it seems that Long is put out on the wing and JRod goes up the middle. I can't help but think that the other way around would be better. Or is Long better as an "impact" sub?
