  1. FGS not more names to add to the list!!!
  2. So how many favourites have there been so far?? Howe FdB Garcia Puel Pelligrini Klinsmann Anyone else? Not sure that I have ever seen a managerial appointment with so many favourites at different times.
  3. I've a nice Bordeaux, Chilean Carmenere, Tuscan all ready to go. Unfortunately just some rather nasty German Kabinett. So hope it's not Germany as would rather have a bottle of Alpecin.
  4. Isn't this meeting up with best buddies a bit like going to the doctor and saying "I have a friend whose got a wart on hid todger, what should he do?" ie it is you who has the wart and JackS works for the club? I'm not sure anyone really buys the chance meeting line.
  5. Had just over £6 left in my online account with W. Hill (left over from the family's Grand National flutter) so lumped that on but got 2s.

In fairness Croatia are quite good to watch, but the cricket was certainly much more exciting.
  7. So Vancouver, pray tell us all exactly who hasn't even talked with us? Do you really really want a knee jerk appointment?
  8. Maybe MP has a large family he wants to provide for, but life is too short to take on a load of hassle, and I imagine that he probably already has enough money to be able to decide what he wants to do. Russia is hassle, but relatively easy. €10m when we would be about half that.
  9. I also disagree, not least as I am not sure that he has reached his peak. But we are going back to money which transcends any desire to play CL football. That is evidence by him leaving Celtic to come to us in the first place. Now if we valued him very very highly, then the contract offer would have been more generous and might have got him to sign. Of course Spurs can offer more, but the bit about every player having his price works both ways. We will weigh up what the transfer fee is versus the package we would need to offer to keep him here. We obviously have a value that we put on him which is reflected in the contract we offer.
  10. Yup, I thought you might trot something like this out.

Why is anyone surprised? Hodgson sucked any flair out of the team in Brazil, and we had a qualifying group that even Pompey could have got through. That papered over the cracks and now we have been exposed as being the very average team that we are. If Hodgson gets a contract extension I guess I'll be ****ed off, but really, I haven't found England worth watching for 20 years now.

I'd find it very amusing if it stays like this and Wales finish top of the group.

Have to agree we are boring.
  14. I'm sure the club have a list of posters who they disregard - if it's not Cat A ticket prices, it is something else equally banal.
  15. And what if he refused to sign a 5 year contract when we signed him?
  16. But Giordano, we are happy to be used. We want our voice heard. We want our concerns taken on board. Our opinions sought. I seem to recall a rather fanciful notion that some had on here of having a fan on the company's board. As that was never going to happen, and I suspect (and hope) won't, then this is our soap box and I hope that it is read and (some of what is written) taken on board.
  17. Sky Bet seem to have given up on who our next manager is!
  18. Choices old boy, choices. The two we seem to have are... 1) Keep him. Him be truculent. Leaves for nothing at the end of his contract. 2) Accept the highest bid. Now you say Les is not negotiating, can you then explain to me how you make Spurs, who are the only bidder supposedly, up their offer? I truly would like to know why you think Les is a bad negotiator if only one person is bidding and they have all the aces. They could have bid £7m - what then? Keep him probably. Or maybe you think Les should turn up with a 12 bore, stick it to his head and demand he signs a contract extension?? Too many on this forum seem to have no idea about football finance, instead just blame Les for being shît.
  19. FFS the press are being pathetic. I guess that if they throw enough names at it, someone is bound to get it right.
  20. I'd love to hear why you think that
  21. Firstly, I am sorry that you felt the need to use one of your daily posts to try and justify why you posted complete and utter tosh, especially with a really very weak retort. Secondly, yes, I guess you are right. But I try not to spout utter tosh on baseless conjecture. I note that in your considered reply, you didn't see fit to answer why you thought we were trying to bring in a manager on the cheap. IMO it would probably have been best to just say that you were being a typical football supporter and letting things get the better of you. But hey, it's no big deal.
  22. If one was being serious, I wouldn't have minded him pre-Liverpool. Since then, he's a busted flush.
  23. Aye. Are we aiming for 17th this season, or are we just going to be happy taking the parachute payments?
  24. My God there is some utter tosh posted on this forum. How on earth do you get to that conclusion?
  25. But that's driven by the press. We had things like this - http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/678119/Exclusive-Southampton-Frank-de-Boer-3m-a-year-deal-Ronald-Koeman-Football-News-Gossip - that made him favourite. Basically I don't think many/any outside of the club know what is happening. With Zenga, who knows. Maybe he was talked to and it is him who is saying that he is getting the job. Maybe he is right, maybe he is wrong. The club are in the football business. I am not. I could spout off that Zenga is rubbish, but I have absolutely no idea, save for looking at some stats on the web. Me, I'm just going to wait and see.
