I would imagine that part of the deal to sign an extension for Vardy was that he insisted on that clause rather than the club insisting on it.

Martin Samuel repeatedly shows that he is a reporter rather than a journalist. Maybe to some there is no difference, but to me a reporter repeats what he gets told, while a journalist will actually find their own details/story. That bit saying Saints is blasé is just utter rubbish. Unconcerned that RK is leaving (presuming he does) is not being blasé. You do not go from L1 to where we are by being complacent. That Samuel doesn't understand the ethos of SFC says more about him than us.
