  1. That's fine, but.....I think that the video was put out to try and pressure RK into signing for us rather then jumping, and not to save face or to portray RK as a "villain". Reed could have been honest about it (presuming he knew it was going Pete Tong) and said that EFC were offering £6-7m a year which SFC could not match. We all understand the ways of the world, and we all know what RK has said in the press what he has about not moving for money etc and honouring his contract etc. So there really is little reason to be conspiratorial as I am not sure anyone is seeking this for anything other than what it is. Money and EFC offering a lot more. The Lying Dutchman has supposedly done what he said he wouldn't so no portrayals of villainy are needed, and Reed need not save face as he
  2. Change of agent on or around 24th May Reed video 26th May says that EFC were after him mid May. Contract talks would have started a while back I would have thought.
  3. Well I think sacking one agent and appointing another mid way through negotiating a new contract would probably have said rather a lot to Reed.
  4. On the cup games, seemed to have lots of women around me who spent the whole match texting/emailing
  5. Which is the bigger statement in this country - FDB or Bergkamp? And if they did come here and do a good job, then in a couple of years, they could be primed for the Arsenal job. That would be ironic.
  6. As others have mentioned, we technically still have a manager under contract.
  7. I'm sure that Everton supporters will be thrilled to swap Lukaku (aged 23) for Pelle (aged 30)
  8. We definitely need someone like him. When teams double up at the back, we can't run through them. As you say, Palace, they had 8 defenders and Pelle being a target man who actually when he has the ball, is hard to knock over. Now we might have someone who could do the job in a year or two. Sam Gallagher. Both he and Pelle are 1.94m but as far as I can remember SG's physical presence is no where near GP's. Of course their respective experience cannot be compared at this stage and nor their development. SG is still 20, and not sure when a big centre forward generally comes into his peak, but I can't imagine it is until mid 20s. GP didn't really kick in until 2012 when he was 26ish.
  9. Not at all. You can't go through life thinking that people are just stringing you along. That is the worst basis of a relationship. You really do have to take a man at his word, and really, given all what has been said in public by RK, why would you not?? It would presumably be the case that Les also did, as reinforced by discussions that the two had had. Why do so many think it the club's fault that he is going? Me I see EFC coming in and waving a fistful of dollars under RK's nose, and he has taken it. They wanted their man, so offered an amount that they knew we would not match, and voila he's off. The last thing I do is blame the club. Even if he had signed an extension, Everton could still come in, wave the wonga and RK would be off, it just might have meant more compensation. If that was the concern, then maybe we should have done a NUFC and signed him on to an 8 year contract. Do you think that would have been better? Not that he would have accepted that.
  10. You mentioned this on the other thread? Are you going to duplicate all these "exciting" snippets that you come across?
  11. Mentioned where? Twitter, somewhere proper, your head? Where?
  12. Why are some people turning around and saying it was the club's fault? RK said that he often worked on 1 year extensions and that once his contract ran out he would look to do that. But, given what the club and RK and others have said, the extension discussions were going well until the £7m came along. It really isn't that hard to understand.
  13. Seemingly not! Maybe tomorrow, but who knows.
  14. No (disappointed but it's football and when people become so nummamorous it is to be expected).
  15. So the likes of Osvaldo can be written off against profit???
  16. Oh, I'm not so sure. Frannie is handsome devil.
  17. Good one Bizzaro, prob a solid 7/10.
  18. Well seeing as the biggest previous was £1m a year...... But good that it is a company like this rather than a loan shark. I was sure it was going to be Garmin.
  19. Yes that's great I'm sure, but I am still not interested.
  20. I see the PL hierarchy as currently being.... The top dogs...Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea Then.... Liverpool/Spurs Then...Everton Then the rest. Liverpool/Spurs is a bit subjective. But Everton should be 7th if going on size and current state of affairs. Will they be happy with that? Maybe West Ham should be there as well, given that they have a huge new free stadium. I expect the hierarchy to be re-established and us not finishing 6th, although I would of course love us to, if not higher!!
  21. Sorry Chuck, I really have little interest in that article you linked to.
  22. Would be amusing if Everton swooped for him at the 11th hour. And then of course there is a vacancy at Watford isn't there?
  23. Yes, but I'm not talking Blackpool as you are. Managers seem to take the job knowing what's what, and then when it happens they seem to be disillusioned. You can't pay players with money you don't have, and you can't hold a gun to their heads and make them sign contract extensions. Very few clubs are going to let a contract run down to nothing and let the player go on a free, so they get sold. So be it. How many times do we hear managers say that if a player doesn't want to be at a club then they should be sold, only then to whinge about it when they are sold?
  24. Can I just ask who has said that they aren't a big club? All these demonstrations and facts of how big they are is a little strange. Are they trying to convince themselves or everyone else?
