  1. It is justified. Harry Reed made the squad 7 times, with one 10 min sub in at Norwich. Or Ryan Seager - last season on the bench twice a step back from the season before where he was on the bench twice and a third match he managed 1 minute. And that's about it. Not even a pretence or giving them a feel of the first team.
  2. Looking forward to this signing
  3. People seem to have forgotten that in 2008/2009 it was getting damn close to parity. Also 2012 was at €1.15. Things go up and down and at present the speculators are having a field day.
  4. Maybe it similar to Sammy Lee being appointed assistant manager at B&HA
  5. You're a bright Spark aren't you Would people be happier with Silva than Puel? The whims of SWF members are hard to follow.
  6. Or maybe a Welsh one....who used to play for us????
  7. More importance on the academy, as you and everyone else knows. Serious point. Poch brought some through. Gave quite a few a glimpse of the 1st team. Run outs for a few minutes here and there. Some had more time. RK comes in, gives 5 players a bit of time in his first season. Targett gets the most time *****il he fell out of favour) but none of those other 5 featured this season and no new debutants either. Harry Reed is the prime example, and I have raised this before. He's just dropped off the 1st team radar. I don't want to be revisionist or have a downer on RK, but under MP, the academy was something to be really proud of. RK it was a bit meh! Did Harry Reed suddenly go from being a good prospect under MP, and one that I was really looking forward to, to being not good enough under RK? Which goes on to MPel - would he have brought through the academy players?
  8. Of course it is, or at least it will hamper progression. But tell me, in the hierarchy of football, where do you see Southampton FC? There does seem to be an awful lot of misplaced self-aggrandisement amongst our supporters.
  9. I bought mine yesterday, but for you, I would wait until the dust settles and the vultures have stopped their feeding frenzy.
  10. Now take a really really deep breath and answer me this..... ...as mentioned above, there was one bidder - how then do you up the price?
  11. Incorrect. Payments are usually staggered over a period stretching years. The Pound is currently down 6.5% while the vultures feed on uncertainty. Wait a while and see what the FX rate is currently at a rate last seen at the beginning of 2015 and mid 2012. Was far lower between these dates and even lower in 2011 and before. But hey, why not panic? All the Remain proponents are predicting doom and gloom for ever more.
  12. How do you think his experience stacks up against the PL's other French manager prior to his arrival on these shores? Nancy 3 years Monaco 7 years Grampus Eight 1 year vs Monaco 2 years Lille 6 years Lyon 3 years Nice 4 years
  13. So Chuckle, who would you appoint?
  14. You forgot to mention the Red Star Salzburg bit as well. What a **** amateurish piece.
  15. Sensibility??? Maybe sagacity would be better.
  16. If Puel gets it, I won't be upset. Purely because before he was mentioned, I knew absolutely nothing about him.
  17. Would be amusing seeing that EFC wanted him as 1st choice.
  18. I'm afraid to say that the bit in bold is pure conjecture (and really not fact in the slightest) and thus likely to be complete and utter bollicks.
  19. Do we have more wet fannies as "supporters" than other clubs or is this pretty standard?
  20. Sigh. Another one who would prefer a knee jerk appointment.
  21. Have to agree, although I would put him on the same level as Pluto.
  22. You seem to be correct: http://www.mcfc.co.uk/news/team-news/2015/august/club-statement-manuel-pellegrini-contract-extension/1438944266 Strange, as I thought he was seeing out his contract that ended this year and then he was being replaced. Maybe there was a break clause.
  23. talkBalls had Danny Kelly on saying he was likely to be off for £25m and would Saints survive. It seems that he thinks it a fait accomplis presumably as it is Liverpool coming knocking on SFC's door. All this balls about us not surviving selling players. Prosper - that's a more pertinent word. Survive - melodramatic tosh.
  24. Who knows? Maybe there is a bonus for seeing out the contract which would be forfeited if taking another job before the term was up.
  25. "It"
