All very confusing. Some papers have it that LVG will be getting no funds as well as him signing RB.
-
Shaw, Chambers, Reed, Isgrove, McQueen, Rowe, Gallagher and Sinclair all got a chance and appeared to a greater or lesser extent. Granted Sinclair had 1 minute in a cup game! And maybe you might think that Shaw was brought through before MP arrived.

Ah but we have "La Gran Muralla" Well, here's hoping (plus we have Shlong!!)

Ah, good point Batman. No idea.

price?? Might/hope will recoup something given that they are pushing hard for PL.

One day someone is going to sue for restraint of trade or maybe constructive dismissal (although with that, there has to be a contractual breach). Or maybe another Bosman type court case, and to be honest, if I was Townsend, then Levy controlling my life and future through a contract and buggering it about due to excessive/unrealistic demands, I would seriously consider looking at legal action.

Isn't it really the case that there is so much money now coming into the game, that you can choose the creme de la creme and buy it in for the 1st team, rather than develop it? In the past few years we could happily take the moral high ground when looking at ManU, Chelsea etc and the way none of their academy products made it through to the first team. Maybe we are now getting like that. I know that there are exceptions, and maybe the academy isn't going through a good patch at the moment, but the more money there is in the game, the less we need to rely on the academy. A shame, as I am sure that we can all agree how nice it was when Poch brought through so many.

So you think he was being even more insincere than the usual football player?
-
Maybe I am looking at it with my Saints tinted glasses, but he comes across as one of those rare players who actually wants to play for us for who we are, rather than purely for the wage we can offer.
-
That's an awful lot of money isn't it?
-
MM, you need to read what people write without your blinkers on, before having a go at them.

I've never thought that Townsend was as bad as some make out. Or have I just seen glimpses of him doing well and most the time he is that bad?? But the price. It seems, regardless of how long there is left on the contract, to have remained at £14m for the past 18 months. Levy might get it, as there is a lot of craziness going on, but I hope not.

I imagine that is why some call it sensationalism.

http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/stoke-will-be-patient-as-rumours-for-southampton-forward-long-west-brom-striker-berahino-continue-4114009?utm_source%3Dmoreover%26utm_medium%3Drss-feed%26utm_campaign%3DFeed-Latest%2BArticles I know it isn't a national, but a web based publisher of rumour and opinion, but really, when have Stoke ever been connected to Long? This buying of Austin seems to have led to the most ridiculous number of stories about him on the presumption that we will be getting rid of him, which we have said we aren't. From that article Berhanio maybe as it seems a move is for the best for him and that both sides sort of realise it. But Long? Suddenly from going from being one of the most over priced forwards in the league, he has been elevated to one that half the league want for more (pro rata) than we paid for him. Than God the window closes in a week or so, as it is getting silly with all these stories showing that publications are desperate for "news" [sic] content.

That's pretty generous, isn't it? The Cat A ticket prices was definitely less than 1/10, but this is surely less than 2/10. Maybe a 1.5/10
-
Guess this makes a difference from the ballcocks you usually come out with concerning Cat A games. Basically, and I am being presumptuous here, why can't you **** off and give us all a break from your asinine banalities?
-
It would pay to take their players and not even play them, what with the rewards on offer from the TV deal, just in order to bugger the Swans and send them down.
-
Looks like Bologna want to pay €700k a year and Gash wants $1.5m (Aren't European wages net while ours are quoted gross??)
-
Have you been thinking that for the past 3.5 years? When do you think enough is enough?
