  1. I left really early (80 mins) for the first time since we lost 3-1 to Wimbledon @ Palace. And the ****ing shambolic amateurs on the door meant I waited outside for 10 minutes and missed the first 2 minutes. ****ing ****.
  2. Press come round to photo so you get your bags out!!!
  3. Not suggesting that half the stadium be put over to standing. 1) I can't stand and when I do some orange clad young lady tells me to sit (and there is no one behind me). I have given up asking why she doesn't get the whole away end to sit. 2) Maybe, maybe not. I presume it is a numbers thing, and with "safe standing" how many more can you actually fit in before H&S clobber you? 3) I'll take your word on that. Is it the same in L2 and L1? 4) Me too. I think that I first went to a Saints match 39 or 40 years ago, and other whipper snappers can be boisterous. I'm happy enough in the Kingsland Premium, although it would be nice to have a padded seat. Must remember to take a blanket next game that is cold !! (joke btw) 5) Yes it is a bit strange how we now have a generation mad keen on football but who are now all TV supporters. Fortunately with the 2 STs I have, I alternate between my old man and my nipper, although it is sad that the nipper will never have experienced the terraces. 6) If truth be told, nor am I. I have also come to the realisation this season, that there is far too much football on TV (mostly Liverpool/ManU, clubs that I have absolutely no interest in at all). Sat lunch and evening. Sun lunch, afternoon, evening. Mon evening. CL Tue/Wed evening. EL Thurs eve. And they want Friday evening PL games as well. Sat 3pm and Wed 7.45pm are all that are needed and **** the rest.
  4. Rip out the seats and bring back standing.
  5. I put it down to being cold (for the first time this winter) and the crap display not warming anyone up. If we had scored early on as we should have, then who knows..... Liverpool game - I hope that the usual ST holders around me are coming this time, as there seemed to be an awful lot of people who are more interested in taking selfies vs Villa.
  6. Kingsland, didn't see anything different what so ever. The usual bag checks. As it was cold, lots of bulky coats could have had whatever underneath. I'm not sure how viable it is though, to search 30k people to stop them bringing anything in. You could stuff a grenade down your pants quite easily. I think that I have only been to one game where I went through 2 friskings overlooked by gun totting police. Still, the away supporters got their flares through and rained them down on the home support
  7. Sure, so let's just ignore those others because they have a different lifestyle and aren't part of Western Europe. No, hence why I also put in "different". I was sort of trying to figure out why, for example, the day before the Paris shootings that the 43 killed in "Paris of the East" don't elicit the same reaction. I am not sure how you would judge one life style to be superior to any other, except taking your own values to be better than others. I would personally share those when it comes to ISIS, although they aren't a country but an ideological terrorist group, and you are taking an extreme. Not sure what you have against Cambodia. And you seem to be confusing the people of these countries and their lifestyle with the leaders and their political regime that imposes it upon them. Those that live in a dictatorship are still worthy (at least in my eyes) of our sympathy and solidarity when terrorists attack. But hey, this is a footie forum not a politics one. .
  8. Aren't I? Ah, so any non-Western lifestyle is inferior/different and not worthy of showing we stand with them!!! Great. Hatch's picture in #119 sums it pretty succinctly.
  9. But I didn't start a thread whinging about it. A lot of which are beyond moronic. "You're ****ing ****" probably takes it. And then the infantile infatuation with Pompey. I agree, it was subdued today.
  10. Ah, so no one starts so you stay quiet. Wow how brave of you.
  11. weren't we linked with him this summer, or was that just the papers linking everyone with everyone in the hope of something actually coming true?
  12. I am saddened by those who think it is only the French dead who are worthy of remembrance. Maybe the Mali national anthem would be more appropriate before tomorrows game. http://www.linkonlearning.com/public/anthems/countries/mali.htm
  13. are they talking about the flare at the B'mouth game after the 1st goal wasn't it? But no letter, as I sit in the sophisticated part of the ground!

  15. Have to agree it is getting silly. It was done at Wembley and that was enough. But why just the French national anthem? What about all the other terrorist attacks that happen or do we disregard those because they don't happen in Europe?
  16. Not that I watch much rugby, but when he played against England (and everyone else), I always wanted to see him wade straight through us even if it was to our detriment. Not sure I can think of another player who I would see in a similar light.

    Injury Watch

I look at his goal vs Germany and see that that can sum him up as well. Love the way he reads the game and makes angled runs to get behind defences while staying onside. I think he reads the game pretty well, as he often starts these runs way way before other people have started. The Villa 6-1 games showed that as well, esp for Mané's 2nd goal, and to a lesser extent, his goal (of the season). His first touch for the Germany goal was appalling and lucky. Hit him on the shin but fortunately bounced in the right direction and allowed him to take a shot, which in fairness was a sweet strike. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceG7EUOjDGg
  18. Shroppie, maybe I am a little sensitive to it, but my view is the press continually want to sell all our players so that they can carry on with their "exodus" stories that they so love writing about us. It seems that we are now firmly seen as a selling club (yes, I know all clubs are) whenever a club comes knocking and one that doesn't really say no very often, and when we do, it is only until the next window. I look to Everton and West Ham to see how they keep hold of their players (or seem to - maybe that is wrong) - it will be interesting to see what happens with Stones, Lukaku, Berkley, et al in the next window or two.
  19. Damn, those are nasty.
  20. Love this one: http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/619917/Manchester-United-Graziano-Pelle-Southampton-transfer-plans
  21. I am happy enough with the times, but it would be good to get the TV money. What is it - £750k a game? If so, that is £6m more that Liverpool get than us up to the end of January.
  22. Agree with you 9. That is the one that highlights the media love in with Liverpool the most. It doesn't bother me (I prefer games at their proper time) but it was one of the reasons I got rid of Sky several years ago. If I supported Liverpool, like many do, then it would be worth getting a pay TV subscription (rather than enduring poor streams). 16 out of 23 league games - if that continues at the same ratio for the rest of the season, that would be 26 out of 38 league games. I realise that the TV companies have to cater for the biggest audience, but I am sure that there are more Man U supporters than Liverpool, so don't understand this one.
  23. We aren't being televised so all games as per scheduled. As an aside....check this out....http://www.liverpoolfc.com/match/fixtures ...up to the end of January 16 league games (out of 23) vs our 7.
  24. So you think we are selling 6 players. Why not add the rest to it as well as surely someone will want Cedric, JWP, JRod, FF etc etc
  25. Hopefully I won't be surrounded with people more interested in taking selfies like they were for the Villa game.
