  1. Would you want an Eterna or one of these: http://www.engadget.com/2013/10/22/garmin-tactix-gps-watch/
  2. Can't remember - was it his mullet that had him in pole position? Edit - found it http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?50215-The-New-Manager-Thread&p=1963374&highlight=gerry+francis#post1963374
  3. CA, PA???? Can you explain for someone who doesn't play computer games?
  4. You are of course right in that he has not scored more than 10. This season he is not playing as an out and out striker, that is Pelle's job as RK said yesterday so he might not get 10 this season. But I (mostly) trust the scouting network (esp when Chief Execs aren't interfering) and if they have seen something that we need - which £12m suggests that they obviously have - then I'm fine with that and I'l refer to hindsight later on down the path to judge as to whether he is worth it. I would find it very hard to believe that he can be any worse value than Osvaldo
  5. Koeman has said that FF will be starting at Anfield. It was on one of the youtube clips that the club posts.
  6. Every time it gets passed back to him, I am just waiting for some cock up from some poor clearance. And I am sure that some will agree that his kicking can be ****e. Just as ****e as his Cruyff turns. Also letting the ball bunce over his head at Stoke etc etc. He is prone to making mistakes, and a fair few. OK, he said after Stoke (and Arsenal I think) that he would make up for those, and he did pull off some superb saves. But I would far rather a keeper didn;t make those silly errors in the first place so therefore not feel the need to "make up" for them. As for our keepers in 2013/14 AB 29 games, 26 goals, 14 clean sheets, 2577 minutes played PG 8 games, 15 goals, 1 clean sheet, 663 minutes KD 2 games, 5 goals, 0 clean sheets, 180 minutes FF 37 games, 21 goals, 21 clean sheets, 3330 minutes And yes I know FF was in the SPL. This is not Koeman's choice to give FF the prime spot, but Dave Watson's. This right royally has got me pïssed off. As I psoted earlier Boruc should be professional and work to get the spot, not PRESUME it to be his over what many consider to be a better keeper. What sort of culture is there at the club that has turned all the players into complete ****s. Time to clear anyone else out, and give Koeman a free reign. Anyway, I imagine that he will be off after a massive 2 year stay (as Neil90 pointed out). So that leaves Gazza as the number 2. I sort of suspect that it is up to Dave Watson as to whether he can turn him into a good goalie, one who can do the job properly. It would be interesting to know from anyone with an ear to the ground as to what progress Gazza is making.
  7. Do you think Kelvin felt the need to come out with this when he was replaced by Boruc? He is not being pushed, the CLUB are looking to improve and it is unfortunate for him that it is his position. Someone needs to point out that there is no "I" in team - maybe Kelvin would be a great choice to tell him. And he can take loyalty and shove it where the sun don't shine. He seems to think that he has a divine right to the Nº1 goalkeeping slot. What on earth are modern players on these days? We took him on as unemployed, have given him a contract and I think by the sounds of things want him to honour it. However ithis is football and he is in the final year of a contract that won't be renewed, so I guess we will listen to offers. There's always the option for him to really knuckle down and make the Nº1 spot his on merit. Loyalty - who comes across as being more loyal with the sort of **** posted above - Kelvin Davis or Artur Boruc? **** I hate these modern day players.
  8. If I am honest, and following on from the commercial ineptitude thread, this is the sort of main sponsor that I would far rather have. Just a very quick look on line shows that their revenuefor FY2011 was USD 2.76 billion. For them, I am sure that they could tie in the marine aspect of the area with their products. So win all round.
  9. Will it have a pre-programmed default destination as Liverpool? EDIT - oops, see I am a bit slow off the mark - must have been trying to acquire satellite coverage.
  10. You seem to have no faith on our academy and the players they produce. AFAIK they seem to have brought in £70m or so this transfer window. If that carries on, which seems to be the business model, then a blend of youth and experience is entirely sustainable, where the youth get sold for money and the experience has no real resale value. I have no idea why so many on here think that those running the club can't read a balance sheet. Obviously the members here are better qualified, yet I am surprised that they aren't sending their CVs in. But, at some stage the players value has to be written off by someone. Time will tell whether we have spunked away £21m or not, but to say that before a ball has been kicked shows a distinct lack of confidence in the club. As for young players, those likely to feature in the side this year seem to be JWP, Targett, Reed, Isgrove, Gallagher, and possibly Rowe and McQueen.
  11. Not really. Def missed out on A which seems to be a wholly unrealistic Hernandez, but then maybe some realism took over. No one has quite managed, while saying how awful this is, to convince me of any other worth while targets with the requisite PL experience (Hypo - Koeman has confirmed that this was an important factor) and who was affordable and wanted to come here. And why are people going on and on about resale value?
  12. To be honest, I am more than happy to be the butt of jokes and to be written off by one and all. When we do better than everyone expected, we can give them one big **** off before they start off with all their patronising ****.
  13. I don't doubt that he hopes that we are a stepping stone to something bigger. It is natural. But one hopes that he will show a bit more gratitude than certain Eastern Europeans whose career we gave a leg up to.
  14. Maybe he's been on the sauce.
  15. What are his ambitions? I loved that question. I bet he was thinking that his ambition was to join Liverpool.
  16. St George's do quite a few pre seasons for foreign clubs. Didn't someone like Barca go there this year??
  17. Mail says Lennon or Malky. I can't see Lennon going there. Might as well wait a wee while and take the WBA job or maybe the Newcastle or West Ham one. Why would any highish profile manager go there to face the same problems as Pulis?
  18. I don't understand chairmen. He doesn't give Pulis any transfers, but in order to get a new man in, it will be one of their conditions on accepting the job. So why not give the money to Pulis in the first place?
  19. At least now the press can take the **** out of another club.
  20. **** ME.
  21. True, Pulis's stock really has rocketed given the job he did last season. Palace would be mad to lose him.
  22. Durham acknowledged that but also said that the source was not prone to BS.
  23. Pulis apparently in show down talks, over lack of funds/signings, and might quit by mutual agreement within 24 hours!!! That's a big WTF!!!
  24. Mail running it as well: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2724857/Marcos-Rojo-s-proposed-16m-transfer-Manchester-United-end-court-Luisao-pave-way-Arsenal-sign-8m-Kostas-Manolas.html We wasted far too much time on it, and glad we bailed a while back.
  25. 3 times too much, 6 times too much,.... the point is moot. It was more that the values that website attach to things aren't always correct/relevant. Look what the values are for our transfers in/out - http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-southampton/transfers/verein/180/saison_id/2014
