  1. 'Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that.'
  2. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11700/9117086/sky-sources-southampton-owner-wants-sale-nicola-cortese-could-leave So she wants to sell. I thought that was OK, NC had backers and all would be hunky dory. Obviously not.
  3. Yes it does. But we can't have this every time a disagreement happens. In the summer there might have been some brinkmanship involved, but I'm not sure you can do that twice, we aren't in the playground.
  4. What does that mean? That they will break out their contracts and look at what terms they agreed and signed up to?
  5. I like Tlksport because of H&J who are amusing and Alan Brazil (esp with Warnock). The rest is trash.
  6. +6841654. He's a complete cock who loves the sound of his own voice and spouts unimaginable bullocks the whole time, just so that he can be controversial.
  7. That's her right though.
  8. If that is the case, then NC is I am afraid in the wrong. While he may or may not be able to do a better job, that is irrelevant as he is not the owner. I am sure that the involvement isn't like Tan appointing his son's mate from the pub as chief scout.
  9. One of these: http://www.sunseeker.com/en/range/yacht/155-yacht or one of these: http://www.sunseeker.com/en/range/portofino/portofino-40
  10. Well put it this way, if (that might be a big one) we were up for sale, I am not sure how many better propositions there are at the moment (although happy to be accused of wearing rose tinted glasses). Looking around the PL, Everton and Villa might be, but would they be for sale and for how much?
  11. I wouldn't worry too much: 1) as a club, it is in good condition, and you don't cock up your investment. If you don't want it, you sell it. 2) people come, people go. The club stays. Not much we can do about it, so why worry? 3) It's SFC - if we take a huge downturn, I will still support Saints.
  12. Can someone explain why late in the 2nd half, the wing backs were pulled back to play along side the full backs? It seemed to invite WBA on to us far too much.
  13. If he gave Lovren one, then their layer's tackle on Clyne (??) deserved one.
  14. WBA were in the first half, an utter disgrace to the beautiful game. They made Wet Spam look like Brazil of the 1970s. Never have I seen such a negative half of football. It was excruciatingly boring and dragged on forever. And 1 minute of added time - where the **** did the rest of the time go? They must have time wasted at least 3 minutes. Fortunately 2nd half was a little better.
  15. +1 .
  16. Odds pre game for a WHU win were 18-1 which in a 2 horse race with both teams being in PL is pretty impressive.
  17. 5-0
  18. It's better than "might"
  19. That seems a fair enough contract for both sides (and presumes that it has some sort of agreement on injuries). The only problem that I can see it if we do a Wenger and not play him to save giving a new contract.
  20. Also, you can't these days turn around and ask what you could get for £1.25m elsewhere, as Bosman has confused the issue so much. I guess that you have to take signing fee, signing on fee, agent fees, wages, etc etc into account to get the total cost over the life of the contract.
  21. Good luck to him, but sad to see him go. I seem to have always rated him higher than others, and thought that last season he always brought something different to the team when he came on.
  22. RVW - £8.8m - 1 goal PDO - £13.0m - 3 goals
  23. IF the stories are true and that he is to be offered twice what he is on, I wonder what relegation clause would be inserted into his contract? Often it is half, so he would be back to where he is at the moment, and at a club with huge huge debts. Relegation is a very real possibility, as the whole team seems to have lost it's fight and not be up for it. If there would be a relegation clause, what would he make? 10% signing on fee so say £800k, although £8m seems quite a lot. An extra £30k a week for say 20 weeks ( until relegation ) Total if the real possibility of relegation happens of £1.4m which after tax is more like £700k. Then build in image rights and the such, and whether exposure in PL will be more than those from a WHU possibly in Championship etc etc. So all in all, not the best proposition in the world, especially given the manager's precarious position. While £65k a week would be a final pay day, £35k a week isn't really too bad a wage to be on.
  24. That's a little different from what has been reported!!! Is this going to come out in the press, or is it bullocks?
  25. LOL...reckon it was that he played the advantage, which didn't last very long. So rather than shake his head, he should have taken play back and given a free kick.
