  2. In fairness though, it seems a pretty good job to go for if recent history is anything to go by. You do really badly, get relegated and then teams from higher leagues give you a job..
  3. One can wish!!! Maybe a swap deal for Ramirez. Can't see him playing for us again as Davis is ahead of him, as is Cork (obv not tomorrow as he is injured). Surprised not to see Isgrove in the squad this year, or has he?
  4. Looks like he scored his first league goal, and not a bad one at that.
  5. 7/1 ain't bad for a 1st vs 3rd
  6. Think he is fit and it was just Wenger being annoyed at him playing twice and that the knock might have been more serious.
  7. I think that it might be based on teams like us being happy with a draw at big clubs like his. If he had seen us at Anfield and Old Trafford then I am sure that he wouldn't think that. I am rather hoping that he gets a nasty surprise, we beat them and Liverpool/Everton draw and we go top. (Well, we can all dream can't we?)
  8. "Interesting" view on things..... http://www.arsenal.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=538653 Particularly like the last quote!!! Not sure the guy has the first idea about Saints.
  9. I see the problem with England being that the defence can't really pass it to the midfield and the defensive midfield can't hook up with the attackers. The passing is woeful. Short passes get intercepted far too often, and long passes don't find their man. Gerrard is one who can find his man, although his passing does sometimes get intercepted. It would be interesting to see stats for passing
  10. Off topic, but not worthy of it's own thread, but are Croatia so good that they can leave Lovren on the bench?
  11. No point playing JRod in the team as he was played in a position that he doesn't play for Saints. Claridge on R5L was commenting on it this evening and said that he hadn't seen JRod play in the position once for Saints this season. England often pick players on how they do for their club and then try and fit them in. To a certain extent I can understand that, as all teams have different systems, but sometimes the England system is so different that players are ineffective. Our system differs very much from England. Look at RL, AL and JR. They don't really stick in one position and wander all over the place, especially AL. On Friday, JR was stuck on the left and AL on the right. England let Rooney be the marauder when I think that all 3 of them should have been allowed to interchange, although it would help to have a competent defence to free up the midfield.
  12. I wonder how many games go on. Chelsea, may or may not have any intention of buying, but if they don't but say they do, then it is likely to up the price if ManU/C/Arsenal want to buy him. The more you get your opponents to pay, the less they have for other players. Maybe at the same time unsettle the players, and as we are currently (long may it last) at the same league level as Chelsea it can't do any harm. Everyone has a price. A while back £25m seemed excessive, but at 18 and more than holding his own, it seems quite "cheap".
  13. Agree 100%. Sad really. Was watching and saying why not pass back to Shaw rather than take on all of Finland?
  14. Seems that we are at 5/1 or 11/2 most places for the win. Seem quite attractive odds.
  15. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x139f0z_west-brom-0-1-southampton-full-match-highlights-goals_sport Ours and Chelsea's aren't the same at all. So if he complains about the penalty can we complain about the offside goal that was disallowed?
  16. Mourinho told him to take the job, but no word of whether he told NC to give it to him.
  17. Now that it appears that getting MP was a bit of a master stroke, I got wondering who advised NC to employ him, or is this all NC's work?
  18. The difference with those teams is that their squad had much better depth. I think that they also fielded "weakened" sides as well.
  19. Fox, Lee and Ramirez aren't quite what we are looking for.
  20. duplicate
  21. yup but thought that he had overcome that.
  22. Had notices up on the windows saying open next game (ie Hull)

  24. Surprised Osvaldo didn't travel, unless he still has a knock.
  25. I was being a little tongue in cheek. But an interesting clip. I knew Messi regularly had lumps kicked out of him and that he carried on - fair does to him and I guess it adds to his kudos of being the world's best (or one of them). But Neymar...that's just embarrassing. For some reason I just wanted someone in one of those clips to give him a proper slap.
